Warren Buffett, now 94, says there was no big moment behind stepping down—just the steady realization that Greg Abel was operating at a different pace. “The difference in energy level… became more and more dramatic,” he told the WSJ. “It was unfair, really, not to put Greg in the job.”

Buffett added, “I didn’t really start getting old… until I was about 90. But when you start getting old, it’s irreversible.” He said he never saw himself as CEO for life—just until someone else could do the job better. “And it surprised me how long it went.”

Even with the title change, Buffett isn’t disappearing. “I’m not going to sit at home and watch soap operas,” he joked. “My interests are still the same.” And in markets? “I don’t get fearful when things go down in price… that really isn’t a function of age.”

Truist on FDA Ruling – Key Read-Through for Wegovy/Ozempic

Bottom Line: Court ruled in favor of FDA in the Mounjaro/Zepbound shortage case, reinforcing FDA's authority and methods—offering potential implications for Wegovy/Ozempic.

Key Takeaways:

FDA Projections Upheld: Court backed FDA’s forward-looking supply projections as reasonable.

Nationwide Scope Validated: Local shipping delays don’t equal national shortages; FDA’s nationwide view was upheld.

Demand Assessment Supported: FDA was right to exclude compounded drug demand from past usage analysis.

Lilly Coordination Accepted: FDA’s collaboration with Lilly was not improper, as Lilly held the necessary data.

Implication: Court deference to FDA’s approach could support similar decisions regarding GLP-1 drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic.
