Shocking stat of the day:
The median price of new homes sold in the US spiked by $31,000 in January, to $446,300, the second-highest level on record.
The median new home price is now only below $460,300 seen in October 2022.
As a result, new home sales fell -10.5% month-over-month in January, marking the second-largest decline since September 2022.
Since August 2020, new home sales have declined by 374,000, or 36%, to 657,000.
Housing is somehow still getting worse.
