$ADBE impressive 22.2% EPS growth rate over the last 5 years wasn’t enough to shield it from multiple compression👇🏽

Its multiple compressed by ~36%, from 33.85x to 21.58x, resulting in a modest ~5.3% CAGR for investors 🤯

Nippon Steel and United States Steel $X condemned President Biden’s decision to block their proposed transaction.

"We are dismayed by President Biden’s decision to block Nippon Steel’s acquisition of U. S. Steel, which reflects a clear violation of due process and the law governing CFIUS," the companies said in a joint statement.

The companies said they would "take all appropriate action to protect our legal rights".

President Joe Biden said he is "taking action to block" the acquisition of U.S. Steel $X by Japan's Nippon Steel.

"U.S. Steel will remain a proud American company – one that’s American-owned, American-operated, by American union steelworkers."

"As a committee of national security and trade experts across the executive branch determined, this acquisition would place one of America’s largest steel producers under foreign control and create risk for our national security and our critical supply chains," Biden said in a White House statement.

"(The) action reflects my unflinching commitment to utilize all authorities available to me as President to defend U.S. national security, including by ensuring that American companies continue to play a central role in sectors that are critical for our national security.

Naval Ravikant: “Try to be one of the people who creates things”

“You should actually go out and build the thing you want to see exist—not just say ‘oh, that’s gonna happen. I’m just going to sit back and wait for somebody else to do it’… Things don’t just automatically show up. There are great men and women who go out there and create these things. So try to be one of those people who creates these things.”

If you’re going to be an investor, Naval urges you to “at least bet on things that you think may not exist without you betting on them.”

He continues:

“The other mindset — which is I’m just going to hustle ahead of other investors and slip some money in before they get there and mark it up — maybe you’ll make money, sure, but it’s a very unfulfilling life. And I would argue long term you will not make the most money because the greatest winners of the last few decades have been unexpected winners.”

He gives SpaceX, Tesla, OpenAI, and Apple Computer as examples.

“These are companies that were written off because it was believed that their dream was impossible and too expensive…. When you see these impossible dreams come true, not only is it the most fulfilling thing, it’s also where you make the most money.”
