If you don't like $LULU and $NKE, you might want to check $LVMH

Louis Vuitton is down 25% from its peak, we might see a lot lower price but the stock just hit Oct 2023 lows and Oct 2023 was a terrible month for the stocks https://t.co/T9cPtgn9tJ

🛍 Rough trading day(s) for luxury

Hermes $RMS -6.42% today / -9.42% in a week
LVMH $MC -3.64% today / -8.59% in a week
Kering $KER -1.43% today / -5.19% in a week

Several reasons. Among them:

1️⃣ Economic slowdowS
The effect of the slowdown in China may be accentuated by the slowdown in the US

2️⃣ Sector rotation
Consumer discretionary sector does not perform well during recession. The fear of a potential recession creates a rotation (to healthcare)

3️⃣ Valuation
This is especially true for Hermes, but a PE above 40x requires perfection

4️⃣ French political turmoil
Politics in France creates uncertainties. This probably has an impact on flows, accentuating the previous effects

5️⃣ Low floating capital
The floating capital in low for these companies (50% for LVMH and KER / 30% for RMS). This increases volatility

6️⃣ Commercial war
A potential escalation in the commercial war with China about EV could affect luxury (currently it mostly affect spiritis)

I've been writing code to track politicians' portfolios.

Here are the politicians who have made the most in the stock market so far this year, per our estimates.

The congressional salary is $174,000.

Pelosi has made almost 100x that in unrealized gains so far this year. https://t.co/KjkvUDcfQP

BREAKING: Kamala Harris' campaign reportedly raised $300M in August.

This would be more than double the amount raised by Trump's campaign.

We posted this graphic yesterday, showing how much money different companies' employees have given to the two campaigns: https://t.co/nCCbFSpit2
