Since May 2023, $NVDA earnings estimates have risen faster than its share price. The stock is at 33x PE.

The call should be not about cheap or expensive, but whether such a growth rate is sustainable. And more importantly, whether it is within one's circle of competence.

They are going into the movie business. The more I think about #LVMH vs #KER the more I am leaning towards the former - quality, scale, true luxury and faster growth - worth paying up for than Kering which is more of a turnaround, a re-rating play.

Much discussed historically, but still worth sharing these interesting facts. $COST winning formula: lower prices, lower costs and happier employees.

1⃣Costco's gross margins hover around 12%, compared with Walmart’s 24%. The company makes up the shortfall through its membership fees: in 2023 fees from its 129m members netted $4.6bn, more than half of Costco’s operating profits.

2⃣ Costco stores stock a limited selection of about 3,800 distinct items. A Walmart superstore has around 120,000. Buying more from fewer suppliers gives the company even greater bargaining heft, lowering prices further. By limiting its range, Costco can better focus on maintaining quality. Less variety in stores helps it use space more efficiently: its sales per square foot are three times that of Walmart.

3⃣ Staff turnover at Costco is just 8%; over a third of workers have been there for more than ten years. Compare that to the overall retail industry where 60% of employees leave their job each year!
