Instead they make your message:

❌ Less clear
❌ Less compelling
❌ Less concise

One serial offender is the word 'very'.

Every time you use very in a sentence, ask yourself: can I write this better?

A very common & visible cognitive bias: where you stand depends on where you sit. Few seem embarrassed by it. Its visibility makes it an easy target if you want to cut your biases. And you probably can't actually do so w/ cuttting many kinds of biases.
