Chris Hohn, founder of TCI, views high incremental margins as one of the strongest signals of a companyโs moat & pricing power๐ธ
Incremental operating margin tells you how much additional operating income a business generates for every additional $1 of revenue.
Hereโs how to calculate it:
Pick two periods (Year 1 โ Year 2)
Year 1 Revenue: $10B
Year 2 Revenue: $12B
ฮ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ ๐: $๐๐
Year 1 Operating Income: $2B
Year 2 Operating Income: $3B
So: $1B / $2B = 50%
๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ: 50 cents of every new $1 of revenue fell to operating profit.
___
Why this matters: High incremental margins usually signal low incremental costs, pricing power, & structural operating leverage โ the traits that allow a great business to compound faster as it scales. Itโs one of the cleanest ways to see whether a companyโs moat is strengthening & efficiently scaling.
Iโve included 4 high-quality stocks with their incremental operating margins since 2021 for further example ๐๐ฝ

RT @prompt_copilot: it's not sexy.
Prompt Copilot is basically plumbing. the boring layer between your brain and better AI outputs.
saves your context. sharpens your prompts. works across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity.
no pitch about changing the game. no "revolutionizing" anything.
just fewer minutes wasted re-explaining yourself to a chatbot.
100+ people found it useful. maybe you will too.

The Few Bets That Matter
The $BTC and $ETH slaughter isnโt surprising.
Crypto is an over-leveraged market. Any small bounce or optimism attracts x50โx100 leverage traders trying to catch the pump.
Without a real uptrend and fresh liquidity, the market just hunts liquidity. Not because of โmanipulation,โ but because markets move toward liquidity is. That's how they are designed.
If that liquidity is sitting on leveraged longs... thatโs where price will go.
Thatโs why Bitcoin, Ethereum and crypto in general deliver more pain before gains. They can only move higher once traders are shaken out - most of them at least.
The real pump requires patience.

Tai Sin Electric, the Singaporean cable company we made a quick 20% on last year, issued a profit warning citing "the sudden surge in copper prices towards the end of December 2025".
The company told its shareholders last year that copper price volatility benefitted them (presumably it gave them some room to raise prices on customers) and that high prices would cause demand destruction, limiting any surge in prices. They got the latter wrong, and never had a good track record with managing that risk.
