BREAKING: The share of US small businesses saying it is a good time to expand over the next 3 months declined by 5 percentage points in February, to 12%.
This marked the largest drop in expansion plans since the 2020 pandemic, according to the NFIB survey.
At the same time, the Uncertainty Index rose 4 points, to 104, the second-highest reading on record.
Small businesses mentioned labor quality, inflation, and labor costs as their most important problems.
Small firms are a major driver of the US economy reflecting ~43.5% of GDP.
Uncertainty is skyrocketing.
