Gift them units of an index fund that they can only liquidate after 10 years.

You can't state "buybacks and dividends are economically similar" and also state that buybacks magically "causes their shares to rise" and "raises the value of remaining stocks".

It may look that way but only because on average CEOs aggressively buy back shares when stock cheap. https://t.co/Tyq7PbnSnV

Why the mediocre wins:
1. Everyone thinks mediocre ideas are fine. But people either love or hate innovative ideas
2. When groups judge an idea, the few negative reviews get more attention as “negative evaluators appear smarter"
3. As a result great ideas are judged more harshly https://t.co/vjwEDJlmjr

Is there anywhere I can sort colleges based on something other than perceived reputation and earnings after graduation?

Things like: teaching (vs. research) orientation of faculty, class sizes, diversity of student body, propensity of graduates to do interesting things, etc.?
