Nothing worse than a morning economist.

@sndurlauf there is nothing more insufferable than an economist ruining my feed in the morning. you charlatan. your students should ask the school for their money back

Another clueless economist.

I just finished the probability section of my UG Stats course. 💯 agree it would be a great idea to ask students to explain why the explanation in this video is bonkers.

RT @WashburneAlex: Say No to Kings of Science Funding.

The problem with the old boys' club of health science funding, and the "British Mafia" of epidemiology as we called it before COVID (Holmes, Daszak, Farrar et al), is not just the narrow cultural range for a field that proposes managing diverse human cultures' interactions with disease...

But the second this crew screws up royally, as appears to have happened with SARS-CoV-2 origins, the same social network that allows them to consolidate power and suppress dissent by crushing careers also enables them to burn down the entire house of health sciences instead of just being peacefully investigated, escorted off their thrones, and held accountable for their research ethics transgressions like the rest of us.

Why are these graduate students so bold in attacking Taleb out of nowhere?

Your advisor is surely watching, no?

If this is tripping you up, maybe you should rethink your career path.

Giving his advisor’s work a good close read, like I did, would do him some good.

@fluxtheorist Maybe you should be studying known physics instead of targeting him, no?

RT @mikeharrisNY: @alexbilz Moreover, what strikes me from reading part of this book in my break (I will read it all at some point in time) is the paradox that negative probabilities salvage reality. The book is a mixture of math, philosophy, and epistemology. Hard to read if no background in PhilSci.
