In the subject of'Reported
statements', it is very important to pay attention to the changing of tense.

Notice the change in pronouns..

Examples about Reported statements:

1. Ali: “I play tennis and football” _Ali said (that) he played tennis and football.

2. Sarah: “I am Studying English” _Sarah told me (that) she was studying English.

3. Salwa: “I have lived in Iraq since 1985"
_Salwa said that she had lived in Iraq since 1985.

4. Ali and Omar: “We have been working”
_They said (that) they had been working.

5. Hassan: “she cleaned the room”
_ Hassan told me (that) she had cleaned the room.

6. Yara: “I was watching TV”
_She said that she had been watching TV.

7. “We will travel to Europe”
_They said (that) they would travel to Europe.
