मनुष्यः प्रातःकालात् सायंकालपर्यन्तं कार्यं कृत्वा तावत् श्रान्तः न भवति यावत् सः क्रोधेन चिन्तनेन च एकघण्टाभ्यन्तरे श्रान्तः भवति।

मम लेखनीं स्वीकृतवान् वा ? = Have you taken my pen ?
पिता अस्ति, तूष्णीं उपविशन्तु । = Daddy is in, be quiet.
कृपया मनसि पठतु । = Read silently, please.
भगिनि, मम कृते गणितं पाठयति वा ? = Sister dear, will you teach me mathematics ?
'मम शिक्षकः एवं एव पाठितवान् । = My teacher has taught one just this way.
भवतः लेखनी कुत्र ? = Where is your pen ?
मम छत्रं भवान् किमर्थं स्वीकृतवान् ? = Why did you take my umbrella ?
तस्य कृते किमर्थं दत्तवान् ? = Why did you give it to him ?
तत्कारणतः इदानीं अनुभवतु । = Now you suffer on account of that.
न, अहं पितरं सूचयामि । = No, I am going to tell daddy.
पठनं नास्ति, किमपि नास्ति, केवलं अटति । = Doesn't read at all, just roams about.
भवतः सर्वं अहं जानामि । = I know all your secrets.
भवती बहु पठति, जानामि । = You read a lot,I know.
अद्य भवतः मित्रं मार्गे मिलितः । = I met your friend on the way.
भवतः मित्रं अहं मिलितवान् = I met your friend.
सः किमपि उक्तवान् वा ? = Did he say anything ?
परीक्षा कदा इति स्मरति किल ? = You remember when your examination commences, don't you ?
रमेशः भवन्तं आह्वयति । = Ramesh is calling ypou.
पश्यतु, नासिका स्रवति । = Look, you have a running nose.
नासिकां स्वच्छं कृत्वा आगच्छतु । = Clean your nose, will you ?
वक्तव्यं आसीत्, करोमि स्म । = You should have told me, I would have done it.
अङ्कन्या मास्तु, लेखन्या लिखतु । = Write with your pen, not with a pencil.
तिष्ठतु, युतकं परिवर्त्य आगच्छामि । = Wait, I will just change the shirt.
एतद् युतकं बहु सम्पृक्तम् । = This shirt is a bit too small.
अपरं युतकं एवं नास्ति । = The other shirt is not so.
सङ्कीर्ण वाक्यानि (Miscellaneous sentences)
उच्चत्या उभावपि समानौ । = Both are of the same height.
अस्माकं गृहे सर्वे अस्वस्थाः । = Everyone is ill in my house.
मशको मशकः ! = Too many mosquitoes.
मत्कुणो मत्कुणः । = Too many bugs.
मशकजालः कुत्र ? = Where is the mosquito net ?
अन्तः कोऽपि नास्ति वा ? = Isn't there any one at home ?
दूषितः कालः । = Times have changed for the worse.
कर्मकराः एव दुर्लभाः । = You don't get labourers at all.
महती घोरिका भोः महारावस्य । = This big fellow snores loudly.

हिन्दी-अनुवाद-
हे महर्षि ! इस समय इस विशाल संसार में
ऐसा कौन सा व्यक्ति है जो कि गुणी, पराक्रमी, धर्मतत्त्वज्ञाता, परोपकार को माननेवाला, सत्यवक्ता तथा दृढनिश्चयी पुरुष है ? ।।2।।
English Meaning
अस्मिन् लोके in this world, साम्प्रतम् now, गुणवान् endowed with excellent qualities, क: नु who indeed, वीर्यवांश्च with prowess, धर्मज्ञ: च knower of righteousness, कृतज्ञ: च grateful (who remembers even little help done by others), सत्यवाक्य: truthful in his statements, दृढव्रत: firm in his vows (till such time he achieves the results), क: who?
