🌞 यदा अहं किञ्चिद्ज्ञानी आसम् तदा अहं गज इव मदान्धः समभवम्। सर्वज्ञः अस्मि इति मम मनः अवलिप्तम्
अभवत् । यदा किञ्चित् किञ्चिद् बुधजनसकाशात् अवगतं तदा मूर्खः अस्मि इति मे मदः ज्वर इव व्यपगतः ।
🌷जब मैं थोड़ा समझदार हुआ तो मदमत्त हाथी जैसा हो गया। मेरा मन इस बात से कलंकित हो गया कि मैं सर्वज्ञ हूं। जब मैंने बुद्धिमानों से कुछ सीखा तो मेरा अभिमान ज्वर की भांति चला गया और समझ आया कि मैं सचमुच मूर्ख था।
🌹When I was a little wise, I became pride like an elephant. My mind untainted that I am omniscient. When I learned something from the wise, my pride disappeared like a fever and understood that I was a fool indeed.

यदा किञ्चिज्ज्ञोऽहं गज इव मदान्धः समभवं
तदा सर्वज्ञोऽस्मीत्यभवदवलिप्तं मम मनः।

The man does work every day.
पुरुष हर दिन काम करता है।
८. चित्रकारः धनं स्वीकृत्य चित्रयति।
The artist accepts money and paints.
चित्रकार धन लेकर चित्र बनाता है।
९. विद्वांसः दुर्लभाः लोके।
Scholars are rare in the world.
विद्वान् लोग लोक में दुर्लभ होते हैं।

🌿महता पुण्यपण्येन क्रीतेयं कायनौस्त्वया।
पारं दुःखोदधेर्गन्तुं तर यावन्न भिद्यते॥
🌞मानवशरीरं बहुषु जन्मसु अर्जितेन महता पुण्येन लभ्यते। इदं शरीरं कायरूपिणी नौका। दुःखसागरं तर्तुं लब्धा। यावत् नौका न भिद्यते तावत् पारं गन्तव्यमिति अभिप्रायः श्लोकस्यास्य।
🌹This body as a boat (vehicle) has been bought by spending a huge punyam (acquired through many lifetimes). It is for the purpose of crossing over the samsara river which is characterized by struggles which cause dukha / sorrows. Keep trying to cross the river till the boat does not wear-tear away; this is the essence of the shloka.
