Question for the JS people, I really wanna know

Why isn't Vue not as popular as react? What are the real deal breakers for you?

It's ok for demos and internal tools but

Show me that you are serious, if you are a student or broke at least buy one domain (ccSLD like .com.et for 550 birr/per year) and use subdomains until you get your first customer

Oh, I have a couple of ideas on this.

For the people who think Next.js is behind Reactโ€™s popularity. youโ€™re wrong. React was popular way before Next.js. But Next js had played role in this, and Iโ€™ll get to that in a bit.

For those of you who think React Native made React popular, thatโ€™s also wrong. React was dominant way before React Native.

And for the people who say, โ€œWhy not Vue.js?โ€

well, vue had a great start. It was a great tool, very good, but it wasnโ€™t backed by any big company, unlike React.

React was backed by Facebook, and Facebook could invest everything into it because the whole ecosystem depended on it.

You could say Angular was backed by Google and thatโ€™s a good conclusion but Angular was bad, especially at that time.

After a lot of years, React got good acceptance among developers. It became more stable and easy for developers to start building stuff. Whenever you had an issue, there was a huge amount of resources, tutorials, a strong community, and well-trained people. So the job market evolved, and companies started hiring for React, making React the default choice for new developers.

But hereโ€™s the problem: React became dull. At some point, I think around 2020 - 2021, it started fading out. At that time, people from other popular frameworks like Laravel and Python communities started building(contributing to ) strong alternatives that challenged Reactโ€™s status quo. And then Next.js appeared, again backed by a company called Vercel. When Vue built Nuxt, it was too late, and it wasnโ€™t backed.

For a framework to succeed, itโ€™s very important to have strong contributors and big companies adopting it. That gives you a bigger chance of winning. Itโ€™s not just about money itโ€™s about adoption. Thatโ€™s why not Vue, not Angular, not any other framework could compete at that level.

I saw a few people posting about moving out and about their experience Should I write about getting married and having kids? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
In the spirit of this post, I will share some personal but not private stuff.

There is no joy greater than having a kid, I literally feel like a kid again playing with my daughter.

My life purpose has never been clearer, I don't want her to have the same life I had, I don't want her to go through what I went through PERIOD.

I know most of my subscribers are not even married yet, but trust me, having a kid is more fun than the actual marriage.

I heard a local company say, โ€œOur Research & Development team is working on AI, making it accessible in Ethiopia by adapting it to the Ethiopian context and itโ€™ll be developed by Ethiopians.โ€

The funny part? Just last season, they were busy out there selling WordPress it self. ๐Ÿ˜

Strive for purpose over fame, but if fame finds you, let it be for something good

Aim for a meaningful legacy, not just notoriety. If you achieve recognition, ensure it's a result of your positive contributions.

Focus on making a positive impact, and if that leads to recognition, be proud of the reasons behind it.

I would rather have a great team on a tiny budget than a pile of cash and a bunch of clowns

I don't vibe code, I mostly use AI to generate test cases, which is not production code.

But one thing I like about coding agents is that they make programming more fun

Whenever I'm about to implement something, I first think about how I'm gonna implement it and compare it with the AI-generated one, sometimes it points out some edge cases I didn't think of

Anyway, this approach didn't make me any efficient but it's more fun
