I had a fireside chat last night at stanford. And I was just thinking how wild it is that a st.mary extenstion dropout is doing a speech at stanford ;)

​I was a finalist at the INSA In-House conference for a research paper and won 6,000 birr.

Now, they're giving away 300,000 birr for a social media challenge.

Guess I chose the wrong decade, and the wrong medium 🤷‍♂

I'm really getting worried for my daughter

I was "unfortunate" to have meetings with many government officials from my current and previous line of work.

Most of the people at the top are typical politicians, meaning they know how to maneuver the shitty ethnic-religious political structure but have no substance and enough neurons to lead.

Then, time to time, I meet genuinely educated, smart, and logical people at the top, and I usually feel like I got caught off guard. A few people I really respect, are the real mfs keeping the country running, but the bureaucracy that was in place to control the politicians holds back the real ones, especially at INSA, PM office, and AA city council.

When you start working, the system starts to work against you, and making a radical change without powerful backers can cost your political career. It's really hard to balance, so you have to choose your battles wisely.
