Cursor AI Hackathon Ethiopia is happening July 25β26 at Adwa Museum.
Weβre partnering with Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MinT) and Ethio telecom to bring builders together for Ethiopiaβs largest AI hackathon.
We're looking for idea-stage AI startups. Not polished products, not finished projects. Just a real problem, real users, and a team ready to build fast. If you've been sitting on an idea, this is the weekend to start it.
You'll have 20 hours to turn it into a working MVP, with credits and AI tools from Cursor and our AI credit sponsors: Addis AI, ElevenLabs, Fal, Whisperflow, and more. Food, mentors, and support are covered the whole time.
We're taking 60 teams. Have a team? Register with your team code. Coming alone? Tell us your skills and we'll match you into a team of 5, or fill your team's open spots.
Incubation partners will be in the room too, including MinT, the Addis Ababa University Startup Center, Gheero, and others, ready to back promising teams with mentorship, workspace, and follow-up. Investors will be there looking for ideas worth funding.

We were so overwhelmed by the interest in our little event and we are working on things to make it as awesome as we can.
We are planning to hold the event for four days from Aug 1 - Aug 4 (from Saturday to Tuesday). We wanted to include both weekends and weekdays for people who have to be at jobs an other things.
Lunch and refreshments are included for all four days. Hope you are as excited as we are!

Sometimes the things that hurt us the most are not what happens⦠but what we expected to happen.
Expectations can be beautiful they give us hope, goals, and something to look forward to. But when we attach our happiness to a specific outcome, we give that outcome the power to control our emotions.
A person didnβt reply or behave the way you hoped.
A plan didnβt work out the way you imagined.
A dream is taking longer than expected.
And suddenly, disappointment appears.
Maybe the secret is not having no expectations, but learning to hold them lightly. Work hard, hope deeply, but leave room for life to surprise you.
Protect your peace. Not everything has to happen exactly as you imagined for it to still be good. π€
