I still remember the day I joined the Sri Sathya Sai Group in my village for bhajans; it was the 10th of October 2014. At the time, I did not know anything about Swami and I am forever grateful to the stranger who introduced me to Him. That stranger is now my husband, chosen by Swami as His instrument to bring me to His fold.

Little did I know that I would become part of the Sai Family and that Swami would eventually become my everything. Soon after that day, I started reading about Swami and found myself writing “Om Sai Ram” on every piece of paper that I found. Since then, I started feeling Swami’s Divine presence within me.

The year 2016 proved to be a turning point in my life. With the grace and will of Swami, I got the opportunity to go to Prasanthi Nilayam, the Abode of Supreme Peace. After I visited Prasanthi Nilayam, I could observe Swami’s grace in everything, be it my final year university results or searching for a new job.

Swami also helped me face various challenges during that period in my life, which helped me grow spiritually. I felt that He brought peace to my heart. In addition, I saw His plans unfold in my life, which further strengthened my belief that everything happens for a reason.

I have also experienced His omnipresence through Sai-incidences. On one occasion, vibhuti (holy ash) materialised inside the glass of the framed picture of His Charan (Lotus feet). On another occasion, when my prayer room caught fire, Swami’s idol remained intact while the others burnt.

Since knowing Swami, I have been yearning for Him, and have also experienced bliss. I understand that when I have faith, and surrender to Swami, He ensures that everything in my life unfolds according to His Divine and perfect timing, for He knows best. Today is World Mental Health Day. Sri Sathya Sai Baba reminds us that two things are essential: Arogya (good health) and Ananda (Happiness). Health for the body and bliss for the spirit. With these two wings you can soar to any height. You need both the things, for which you must secure God's grace. To get God's grace, you have to engage yourself in sacred action. 

Bear in mind the three P's - Purity, Patience and Perseverance. With these three, Sri Sathya Sai Baba assures, we are bound to acquire good health and bliss.

I was born with multiple congenital heart defects and underwent open heart surgery at 8 months old, during which a rupture between the left and right ventricles was successfully repaired by Swami’s grace. A few hours prior to the surgery, I was placed in an incubator, ready to have anesthesia administered. My mother had brought with her some vibhuthi – just when she was about to open the bottle, I managed to grab it out of her hands, and all the vibhuthi fell on my chest in the shape of OM. In that moment, Swami had given my parents the assurance that all will be fine.

After the successful completion of the operation, I would wake up, eat, and sleep only to the sound of Sai Bhajans. As I grew up, I began to understand the implications of my cardiac history and how Swami, through the touch of His vibhuthi, had truly saved my life. When I was three or four years old, I started asking my parents about the giant scar that runs across my chest. My mom lovingly pointed to a picture of Lord Hanuman on the wall behind my bed wherein He is ripping open His chest, showing Lord Rama and Mother Sita inside. Just like Lord Hanuman ripped open His chest to show the entire world that Rama resides in His heart, you too have this scar across your chest as a constant reminder that Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba resides in your heart. It is that motivation and blessing that my mother instilled in me at such a young age that has made me the Sai Lion that I am today. (Rushi, United States)

One day, as I was travelling on the train, I was silently chanting “I Love You, Swami”, repetitively while visualising that every passenger on the train were indeed, Swami. I undertook this sadhana to remind myself that everyone is a manifestation of Divinity. This sadhana ensured that I did not forget that Swami was everywhere around me and encouraged me to share my love with all His creations. As I was quietly affirming “I Love You, Swami”, to every passenger on the train, I imagined that there were hundreds of Him around me in the train - some seated, some standing, some laughing, while some silently watching. I was filled with bliss as I saw His dazzling smile, blazing orange robe, and the beautiful black curly hair everywhere around me in the portals of my imagination. I felt immense unconditional love as I continued chanting to every passenger, knowing that they were indeed embodiments of my dearest Swami.

Then, a miracle happened. The train stopped at a station and the passenger who was seated next to me exited the train. I watched her leave the train and oddly, after a few seconds of departing the train, she ran back inside the train and told me, “I just wanted to let you know that Jesus Loves you!”. Before I could react or ask any questions, she left the train before the train doors closed. It was so surreal, and I wondered to myself who is this woman and why she randomly utters those words towards me. I instantly realised this was Swami’s way of reassuring me that He had heard me silently saying “I Love You Swami”, to every passenger in the train and that He was sweetly reciprocating His love to me. Unsurprisingly, I always had an affinity towards Jesus. The universe reflects the vibrations that we emit back to us in various forms. If we radiate divine love, that same divine love ricochets back at us. Swami taught me a simple, yet powerful lesson that day. To receive Divine love, just share Divine love.
