Ryn Outfit Ref - Scholar/Librarian
Mega Ref Section 7/8
Based on the Victorian Cycling skirts/split skirts. Some would be trousers with a skirt panel buttoned on the front, and some would be like this, where the skirt splits open and there would be trousers underneath.
The victorian women's silhouette tended to involve alot of padding to give a wider look in the torso area. Traditionally there would also be padding on the hips area too to give a wider look there (which gives the illusion of a slimmer waist as victorians didnt tight lace their corsets!) but doe to this being based on a cycling/riding outfit, it is inconvenient to have a huge bum pad or bustle as well XD
I don't know if you guys are actually interested in my logic and research behind these outfits or not XD

We're finally at the final section which shows off the other accessories Ryn carries (aside from her jewellery)
- A Mimic Energy Can (Because I like monster energy and I love mimics XD)
- Her book of shadows/spell book written in a language I made up myself maaaaaany years ago

Also contains a sketch of a grumpy Ryn and Hamlet together to give a rough idea of his usual scale when he's on her shoulder. (In that sketch Hamlet looks liek the wierd child of the Grinch and the Lorax..... I don't even like dr suess so how did that happen?)

I was working on this personal piece to make as another print for Confuzzled, but i sadly don't have enough time to do a piece this complicated in time for my deadline tonight (as I'm sewing all week tomorrow) so this one is getting shelved for now!
The idea is that its of an Asian dragon automaton creature, so it's got ball jointed doll joints and hinges and is made out of painted porcelain. It's also huge (you can see a little figure I've sketched for scale near the bottom corner

WIP on what we got done in the stream.
the new hair is almost finished, (the back parts need a bit more purple in them so they're a bit more bright and saturated though)
I also made a good attempt at starting the DBD fanart - however it needs alot of work, and plague (the character on the Left) is actually really complex so it'll take some work. But It has begun! The artist (the character on the left) actually has a longer neck than shown, so that needs tweaking. The crow also needs refining. BUT IT HAS BEGUN

So I made a wanted poster YCH and figured I'd make myself and Hamlet the example pieces. They're inspired by real wanted posters of the old west - I even took the time to find a typeface that was as accurate as I could find to the extant example I had found online.
Then... I turned them into badges too cus why not XD
In case you are wondering - Hamlet is an actual menace so he's more valuable as a bounty than me XD I'm just an accomplice that drinks too much fizzy pop XD

✨ 2023 Year Review ✨
I don't normally do these but I actually got ALOT of stuff done in 2023 and wanted to share a small portion of my favourite pieces. Some months were tough to choose (such as July (artfight) and November (where I had a few commissions)
One of my goals for 2023 was to draw more for myself so that I wouldn't burn out as much and while I definitely achieved more personal art, I still have countless unfinished pieces of personal art. On the flipside though, I had much more fun doing commissions because of me being a bit more selfish with my art.
This year I also did so much sewing (not shown in this) and I'm exceptionally proud of what I've managed to achieve in 2023.
As to 2024, I have plenty of exciting things planned and a new etsy shop update is coming VERY VERY soon.
Here's to 2024. We fucking got this. ❤️

We got the outerskirt, legs and shoes drawn on ryn and started the last bit of shading on Hamlet. (please xcuse the exctra hand on Hamlet, I forgot to turn that folder off for the screenshot)

I posted an update about my Vtuber model on my discord, but totally forgot to post the art here! I actually finished this on my week off (last week) Please excuse some asymetry in some of the things (such as the eyes) as technically, anything that there are mirror images only appear once (as they are copied and flipped when rigged) so som,e of the objects are actually older temporary objects (such as one of the eyes, arms and legs)
Total hours worked on this so far - 60 hours.
I'm now working on the rigging for this model in my free time.
I'll be posting little clips and gifs of the rigging every so often (including the obligatory eye blink)

VTUBER MODEL WIP
So I haven't had a huge amount of time this last week to work on the model. I've been working on her after doing comms for a few hours the last few days.
But tonight I finished setting up the Live2D document (sorting all the deformers and meshes).
Thought I'd include a statistics screenshot too:
- 459 Layers (Artmeshes)
- 565 Deformers (This is what makes the model move, rotate and warp to give the illusion of a 3d model)
- 71 Folders (Parts)
Now I can finally RIG THIS BITCH! ❤️

WIP from the stream tonight
I only did about an hour and a half before swapping over to games but we go the head started and the sketch a bit more refined.
The tail is going to be a paintbrush as Ryx (in VC) wondered who painted his markings on. why not himself? It's still early days, with refining the shadows and painting int he rest of the body and background but its a good start at least.
We also decided that he's a Japanese Ryu in the end and so his porcelain markings will reflect that.
I do think this is going to be one of my background side projects for a few weeks XD

I'm hoping to get into the VExpo (the UK vtuber covention) artist alley this year in August. Table reg opened today and I wanted to show some WIPs of some of the merch I'm intending to make for it. This is just 5 of the roughly 12 designs I'm aiming to have for then. When finished they'll be inked and fully shaded. Each one will be available as a button badge, a mini print and a sticker.
These are only rough sketches and most of them need tweaks before going further but at least it'll show the staff of Vexpo that I'm serious about what I want to make XD
Vtubers picked allow for fan made merch to be sold. I also watch quite a few of them, though some I just love the designs for.

I'll be working on this tonight in my own time to try and get at least the 2 versions of Ryn inked and flat colours sorted. I decided to make it so I can have versions of both Ryns with and without the hat on.
