Russian Alphabet

How often do you think about the Ы sound? Does it bring any ancestral memories of your village being razed to the ground by a nomadic horde? Is Я just a silly reversed R? Does Ж symbolize some kind of a bug?

Tonight at 20:00 Moscow time (17:00 GMT) we will be hosting our very first Russian Lesson in which you will learn all you need to know about Russian alphabet. Also, we are planning to create a Russian language club for those who want to learn/improve the language and practice it with some speaking buddies

Russian lessons are free for all our patreon and gumroad supporters! Check the latest post for a way to join us

Our interview with Dugin will be released tonight. We ventured deep into Dugin's philosophy and his spiritual journey. We asked him to defend himself against the claims that he is a fascist-mysticist Putin's brain and to revise some of his older geopolitical predictions. Esoteric Ungern Sternbergism, Dugin's European travel notes, mystical experiences, it's all there

Sorry for a little lag in our uploading schedule. I'm still stuck on my SEA vacation. Kirill didn't want to edit the pod manually and he ran it through an AI tool... he needed time to "troll the Finns on Twitter" you see

In any case, I'm coming back soon and hopefully the second half of December will have no shortage quality pods, poasts and livestreams

In the meantime, stay tuned for duginpod to drop :)

Thinking of doing an interview with Jackson Hinkle. What's your take about the man? What do you want us to discuss?
👎189👍131🤔1817💊4🤯3🤬1
You guys have a very picky & refined taste! That's good to know. Just keep in mind that Interviews are not meant to be complimentary unless we actually agree with the guest.

In any case. A little reminder: We're doing Russian Lessons for our greatest allies (paid subs)

Live lesson #3 on Verbs will begin in our private telegram channel RWA Сentral Committee in an hour from now (19:00 GMT). Be there if you want to study Russian :)

In response to a tweet about how the future of warfare is small groups of elite soldiers:

It is exceedingly hard to predict the future of warfare — both experts and amateur autists routinely fail at it —, not only because the social/ demographic/ political/ economic trends that form the foundation of war are subject to the whims of chance, but also because, usually, you cannot accurately model the impact of a technology on the battlefield before it is actually tested in a peer v peer situation (e.g., “drone drops” have been used in the Middle East since ca. 2016, but have only become “a thing” in regular militaries relatively recently).

Nevertheless, I disagree with the notion that large regular militaries will become obsolete anytime soon & replaced with small numbers of “operators” — this was the mainstream opinion among military analysts and futurists for decades, ever since “peace dividend” mindset hit, and it turned out to be hilariously wrong, disproved first by The Surge, and now the War in Ukraine.

To repeat myself, it is extremely hard to predict what the future of warfare will look like, but looking at things as they are right now, in this very moment, as well as the shortcomings of the armies involved, it appears to me that the best configuration of a regular military force (at least in terms of Ground Forces; I'm afraid I know too little about war in the air & navies to comment on that) for a near-peer war of the near future would look something like this:

1) Assault Corps. Basically “Wagner 2.0”: a core of highly trained, highly effective light infantry that, in times of “peace”, is constantly rotated throughout war zones across the globe, either in the guise of a PMC or not. A low-bureaucracy fraternal army that is always on top of tactical innovations and can be expanded in war time with volunteers and/or penal units to serve as shock troops.

2) Army. The bulk of the military. A significant % of professional soldiers and career officers, bolstered by mobilization/conscription in war time. Used mainly to “hold the line”, man the 2nd and 3rd lines, operate artillery and missiles in support of the Assault Corps' offensive operations, man checkpoints in the rear, carry out pacification duty and counter-insurgency operations, and offensive operations on the flanks of the Assault Corps. Not too different from what it's like currently but less resource-intensive and more geared towards supporting breakthroughs made by the Assault Corps.

3) R&D groups. Small, independent groups of both civilian and military innovators, constantly tinkering with new tech, rolling up and down the frontlines teaching new stuff to the Army and Assault Corps, introducing experimental drones or remote-operated weaponry, or defenses against such (e.g. EW). These would need to be generously funded by the state and have no problem switching between the military-industrial and the private sector as needed (depending on whether it's war or peace time), and they should have a direct line to the MIC to produce new inventions in large enough batches to constantly field test them in a continuous process of trial and error, all with as little bureaucracy as possible.

С Рождеством Христовым! Happy Christmas to all of you!

December 25 vs January 7 debate is a bit silly. If you are confused, then I advise you to celebrate BOTH of the dates. Just call it Julian/Gregorian Christmas and gather with your family TWICE. Material life is short so there's no time for such squabbles

By the way, Kirill got ******* and is coming back from his trip. We are getting ready to bombard you with good stuff very soon. The Romanovs episode, livestreams, new guests and a brand new series on Russian Mafia - all coming out this month!

NEW EPISODE

After Peter the Great's reign, chaos followed - no personality of his caliber would appear for half a century. From the rule of Catherine I, Peter's wife, to the tumultuous "Battle of the Palaces", a dramatic era of court intrigue & palace coups, this was a fascinating period that kept the newly-named Russian Empire on its toes. It was up to weak male heirs, loose Empresses and their German lovers to jumpstart the Age of Enlightenment in 18th century Russia.

These decades of telenovela-tier plotting and scheming set the stage for the remarkable reign of Catherine the Great...

Gonzalo Lira has died in the Ukrainian prison, according to his father. Very sad. I genuinely liked the man - unlike an absolute majority of Western "pro-Russian" speakers. He stood out in that he was an independent thinker and a true OG of the blogosphere. Even arguing with the man was not boring.

Alas it's hard to say that it wasn't expected. The Ukraine is the land in which death and all kinds of demonic forces reign supreme. Always have been - go read Gogol. Nothing will protect you in this place, not even the US passport. I would advise you to stay away from it, unless you have a death wish and you are properly armed to fend off the evil

I'm sure that everyone close to him wanted him to leave Kharkov. He knew that the Ukraine was a totalitarian state & an ancient deathmatch map. He decided to wing it and test its limits. Then he was put under house arrest. Yet he was too stubborn to conform and continued to stand tall. Rest in Peace.

Houthi militants mistakenly targeted a tanker carrying Russian oil in a missile attack on Friday off Yemen, British maritime security firm Ambrey said.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) organisation said it had received a report of a missile being fired 90 nautical miles southeast of Yemen's port city of Aden.

"The master reported a missile landing in the water 400-500 metres away, and being followed by three small craft," the UKMTO advisory note said, adding that there were no injuries or damage.

______
Overall, do you think all this Yemen muddle will lead to anything? Looks like saber-rattling, tbh. Houthis will strike a couple of ships, Americans will strike a couple of warehouses. Yemenis are surely ballsy, but there is very little they can do.

Some people cannot stop spreading these lists with fake stats about Russia. The common culprit is a Polish man with 90 IQ who is too busy cleaning toilets in Dortmund to double-check the list of bullshit that he's copypasting

Well, let's do it for him, shall we?

Let's look at the "adult prevalence of HIV/AIDS by country". According to CIA world's factbook, the prevalence rate in Russia is 1.5%. It's not good at all, but we are definitely better off than some countries in Europe.

Portugal has a rate of 1.6%. Italy has a rate of 1.8%. Russia holds a third place in Europe, at worst. And 41st place worldwide. For example, Australia has 2% of HIV-infected population and South Korea has 1.9%. Zimbabwe is at 22%

Conclusion: Not great not terrible. The Polish bot just straight up lied about Russia being on par with "poorest African countries"

Next up. "First in the world in the number of abortions per 1,000 inhabitants"

Perhaps you meant by 1k women? Alright. Let's look at the Guttmacher and United Nations Report

Russia holds a 111st place in the world. 13.1 abortions per 1000 women. The record holder - Georgia has a rate of 80 abortions per 1k women. The pole lied again and failed spectaculary. Just 110 places off, no biggie

Next. Alcohol-related death rate. There is no legit statistic on this at all. Let's look at the Alcohol consumption rate instead. According to WHO, in 2018 Russia had an annual alcohol consumption rate of 11.19 liters per person. Pretty standard European number. Germany had 12.9 liters, France had 12.3 liters etc.

Oh no. It seems that our boy lied again! Russia is not even in top 10 of drinking countries anymore

Homicide Rate per 100k. Let's see. According to UNODC, Russian murder rate in 2021 was 6.8. Not that far from American rate of 6.4. Overall, we held a 52nd position in the world.

Now let's compare Russia and the Eurozone exclusively. And... he's right for the first time! Russia has the highest rate - in Europe. Well, considering that Ru murder rate has dropped by 642% since its peak in mid 1990s, we're on the right track here.

Divorce rate is... irrelevant. Belarus i think holds the first place, Latvia is right after Russia. Who the fuck cares about muh divorce rate. Have you been dumped recently? Gonna cry and shit your pants maybe?

"Record-breaking children abandoment". Yet another tired bs from the 1990s which is not backed up by any data whatsoever

Summing up. The only legit factoid in this list is that Russia has the highest homicide rate within the sissified Europe. It's nothing to brag about, worldwide we are far behind the real chads in south america etc. The rest is straight up bullshit that might sound convincing to boomers because in the 1990s the situation really WAS awful. And it made a lot of our enemies gloat about our misfortunes so much that they try to ignore our speedy recovery as if it hasn't happened. Well, it has. Knock-knock, you bastards.
