I plan on going to South East Asia for a little seaside vacation with my wife and my son. As a typical Russian, i am obsessed with the Sun, the Sea and the Tropics. I also am genuinely curious about the world and foreign cultures. It's pretty funny that an overwhelming majority of Russians fits this unlikely stereotype

So i decided to read up some reviews about a certain resort online. Yandex search retrieved me a link to reddit and i clicked on it. Turns out, Redditors are demonically possessed with a burning hatred for Russian tourists. Apparently, we are the worst, the rudest bunch of troglodytes who never smile. We are hostile and entitled. We flee from "bloody war", are also racist, don't know a lick of english, have no manners, our kids cry and basically we need to be genocided. So i decided to browse those hate-filled threads on reddit to make some content out of it

RWA x Dima from Military Summary x Chad from Texas
An audio version of our yesterday's stream. We and Dima shared our visions, recalled past mistakes and talked about the very nature of 'our' three states: Russia, Belorussia and Ukraine. With Chad we discussed Mongolia as a tourist destination, learning Russian and US expat life in Moscow

As always, it's also available on our Patreon and Gumroad

NEW EPISODE

RWA #100: On Esoteric Kremlinology & Russia Experts

We take a look at the archetype of the American โ€œRussia expertโ€ and how these people changed over time. From men who were actually smart and capable like George F. Kennan to the current crop of spiteful goblinoids (and why it's good that the US has no actual Russia experts). Overall, a glimpse at how the concept of โ€œunderstanding Russiaโ€ has suffered a severe decline in America.

Darkly funny to see the exact same people argue that, at the same time,

- a place where group X made up something like 1-5% of the population a century ago MUST belong to group X because a different ethnic group with a different religion who shared a few liturgical aspects with group X used to live there over 2,000 years ago

- a place where the difference between groups Y and Z did not exist in actual real life outside of Communist Party waste paper and fringe Canadian magazines until a few decades ago unequivocally belongs to group Y, despite a majority of the population identifying as group Z and group Z having basically exclusively lived there, nomadic invasion intermezzos aside, for as long as written records exist, and group Y literally not existing a hundred years ago as an actual identity shared by any significant amount of people

Our old friend the Bronze Age Pervert rolled up to the RWA studios to record a powerful-insane pod on drinking habits, the morality of political assassinations vs war, Silicon Valley grifter culture and the great Khazaria conspiracy (it never existed).

It's never boring with BAP so go check it out right now whether you're recovering from a turkey overdose or not!

Russian Alphabet

How often do you think about the ะซ sound? Does it bring any ancestral memories of your village being razed to the ground by a nomadic horde? Is ะฏ just a silly reversed R? Does ะ– symbolize some kind of a bug?

Tonight at 20:00 Moscow time (17:00 GMT) we will be hosting our very first Russian Lesson in which you will learn all you need to know about Russian alphabet. Also, we are planning to create a Russian language club for those who want to learn/improve the language and practice it with some speaking buddies

Russian lessons are free for all our patreon and gumroad supporters! Check the latest post for a way to join us

Our interview with Dugin will be released tonight. We ventured deep into Dugin's philosophy and his spiritual journey. We asked him to defend himself against the claims that he is a fascist-mysticist Putin's brain and to revise some of his older geopolitical predictions. Esoteric Ungern Sternbergism, Dugin's European travel notes, mystical experiences, it's all there

Sorry for a little lag in our uploading schedule. I'm still stuck on my SEA vacation. Kirill didn't want to edit the pod manually and he ran it through an AI tool... he needed time to "troll the Finns on Twitter" you see

In any case, I'm coming back soon and hopefully the second half of December will have no shortage quality pods, poasts and livestreams

In the meantime, stay tuned for duginpod to drop :)

In response to a tweet about how the future of warfare is small groups of elite soldiers:

It is exceedingly hard to predict the future of warfare โ€” both experts and amateur autists routinely fail at it โ€”, not only because the social/ demographic/ political/ economic trends that form the foundation of war are subject to the whims of chance, but also because, usually, you cannot accurately model the impact of a technology on the battlefield before it is actually tested in a peer v peer situation (e.g., โ€œdrone dropsโ€ have been used in the Middle East since ca. 2016, but have only become โ€œa thingโ€ in regular militaries relatively recently).

Nevertheless, I disagree with the notion that large regular militaries will become obsolete anytime soon & replaced with small numbers of โ€œoperatorsโ€ โ€” this was the mainstream opinion among military analysts and futurists for decades, ever since โ€œpeace dividendโ€ mindset hit, and it turned out to be hilariously wrong, disproved first by The Surge, and now the War in Ukraine.

To repeat myself, it is extremely hard to predict what the future of warfare will look like, but looking at things as they are right now, in this very moment, as well as the shortcomings of the armies involved, it appears to me that the best configuration of a regular military force (at least in terms of Ground Forces; I'm afraid I know too little about war in the air & navies to comment on that) for a near-peer war of the near future would look something like this:

1) Assault Corps. Basically โ€œWagner 2.0โ€: a core of highly trained, highly effective light infantry that, in times of โ€œpeaceโ€, is constantly rotated throughout war zones across the globe, either in the guise of a PMC or not. A low-bureaucracy fraternal army that is always on top of tactical innovations and can be expanded in war time with volunteers and/or penal units to serve as shock troops.

2) Army. The bulk of the military. A significant % of professional soldiers and career officers, bolstered by mobilization/conscription in war time. Used mainly to โ€œhold the lineโ€, man the 2nd and 3rd lines, operate artillery and missiles in support of the Assault Corps' offensive operations, man checkpoints in the rear, carry out pacification duty and counter-insurgency operations, and offensive operations on the flanks of the Assault Corps. Not too different from what it's like currently but less resource-intensive and more geared towards supporting breakthroughs made by the Assault Corps.

3) R&D groups. Small, independent groups of both civilian and military innovators, constantly tinkering with new tech, rolling up and down the frontlines teaching new stuff to the Army and Assault Corps, introducing experimental drones or remote-operated weaponry, or defenses against such (e.g. EW). These would need to be generously funded by the state and have no problem switching between the military-industrial and the private sector as needed (depending on whether it's war or peace time), and they should have a direct line to the MIC to produce new inventions in large enough batches to constantly field test them in a continuous process of trial and error, all with as little bureaucracy as possible.
