JPMorgan Chase announced that it will allow its clients to purchase Bitcoin, but will not provide custody services for the cryptocurrency, according to Yahoo Finance and CNBC. This means clients can buy Bitcoin through their bank, but JPMorgan will not hold the Bitcoin on their behalf. Time Magazine reported that Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan's CEO, said the bank will allow clients to buy Bitcoin, though he added that the bank will not custody the asset. Fox Business reported that JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon updated the bank's Bitcoin policy. 

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has recently announced a shift to a flexible exchange rate system after a long period of a managed exchange rate system.

The flexible exchange rate shift has been made because of a stable foreign exchange reserves at present.

The foreign exchange reserve improved after the payments in December 2024 and robust exports and increases in remittances halted the declining trend of foreign exchange reserves.

Yesterday, Hong Kong’s Legislative Council passed the Stablecoin Bill for fiat-referenced stablecoins. The legislation is expected to come into force later this year and is seen as a key pillar in Hong Kong’s desire to maintain and enhance its position as an international financial center. Last year the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) launched a stablecoin sandbox which currently hosts three initiatives.
