Nigeria Fuels Africa's Energy Future as African Energy Bank Prepares for Launch
At a meeting in Abuja, officials reportedly confirmed that legal frameworks are completed and plans set for the African Energy Bank's (AEB) first board meeting.
🏦 Key highlights from the discussions:
⦁ The AEB will serve as a transformative financing platform for energy projects across Africa;
⦁ All critical milestones are either completed or on schedule;
⦁ Nigeria has already raised $19 billion for the bank’s launch;
⦁ Member states and private investors have pledged strong support for capital mobilization.
The talks involved Nigerian State Minister for Petroleum Resources Heineken Lokpobiri, Afreximbank's President Benedict Oramah and Secretary General of the African Petroleum Producers' Organization Omar Farouk Ibrahim.
"Our collective focus is on delivering a bank that catalyzes investment, accelerates energy security, and drives economic growth across Africa," local media quoted Lokpobiri as saying.

💥 Facilitating the implementation of the Electronic Signature and Electronic Transactions Law No. (78) of 2012
💥 The cryptographic public key: An electronic code available to the public, created by a special computational process and used to verify the identity of the signatory on the electronic document
and to ensure the validity and integrity of the original electronic document.
💥 Beneficiaries: Public and private sector companies and individuals who use electronic signatures, electronic documents, and electronic
commercial and financial papers.
💥 The Electronic Seal (E) Seal is an electronic tool used in the digital environment to authenticate electronic documents and transactions in a manner similar
to the traditional seal used on paper documents.
💥 First, the company shall issue private root cryptographic keys to entities licensed to issue Root Certificate Private Key (Electronic Authentication Certificates).
💥 Creating an electronic signature using a secure system
Based on public and private key encryption technology.
💥 The company shall provide the service of examining and verifying the validity of the electronic signature creation data upon the request of any interested party in exchange for fees determined by the company after the approval of the Minister.
💥 The company shall determine the fees for electronic signature services after the Minister's approval, in a manner that ensures the spread of the service and its use in the digital transformation.
💥 The company shall, after the Minister's approval, issue a list of electronic services, applications, operations, and documents that require the use of electronic signatures in accordance with the law. This
list shall be updated periodically in accordance with the requirements of the beneficiaries and in a manner that ensures support for the steps of digital transformation in the Republic of Iraq. It shall be published on the official websites of the Ministry and the company and in at least three visual publication media.
