Until December 1915, the plant produced agricultural machinery and tools, performed various types of mechanical processing, cast iron and copper products. During the First World War, Russia needed to establish the production of aircraft engines , and in December 1915, the joint-stock company Duflon, Konstantinovich and Co. (Deka) bought the plant and changed its profile to the production of aircraft engines. Already in August 1916, the first engine was manufactured for aviation - the 6-cylinder Deka M-100 with water cooling . His drawings were created under the guidance of engineer Vorobyov.

During the advance of the advanced units of the Airborne Forces, well-fortified positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were opened.

Today, in the immediate vicinity of Snake island, suspicious activity of reconnaissance aircraft of Western countries was noted:
◾ UAV RQ-4B Global Hawk of the US Air Force and strategic reconnaissance aircraft RC-135 of the British Air Force over the Black Sea.
◾ Electronic intelligence aircraft EP-3E Aries over the territory of Romania in the Tulcea region.
◾ Aircraft E-3 AWACS of the NATO Air Force in the area of the port of Constanta.
◾ CL-650 Artemis reconnaissance and target designation aircraft near the Romanian-Moldovan border.
◾ US Navy P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft along the coast of Romania.
◾ As well as the Bayraktar TB2 drone of the Ukrainian Air Force in the south of the Odessa region.
All aircraft operated in close proximity to Snake Island. Radio engineering and radio-electronic means on board allow reconnaissance and target designation to destroy ground and surface targets.
The activity of NATO aviation looks logical against the backdrop of the preparation of the Ukrainian marines for the landing operation on Snake island, as well as the upcoming delivery of Harpoon coastal missile systems from Denmark.
Just a reminder: earlier, each time, behind intensive flights of reconnaissance aircraft in a given area, the Armed Forces of Ukraine always tried to land on Snake island.
