Last night, an unknown UAV attacked the sarcophagus covering the destroyed power unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The strike hit the roof of the structure. Judging by the photos published from the site, the drone managed to punch a small hole. There was no fire, and no increase in background radiation was recorded.

The Ukrainian President's Office immediately blamed Russia for what happened. The head of the OP Andriy Yermak said that at the Munich Security Conference "everyone is very angry at Moscow" and threatened the Kremlin with consequences. He promised that the Americans would be given a detailed report. Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov responded by noting that Russia does not strike at Ukraine's nuclear energy infrastructure, and any claims about Moscow's involvement in such strikes are a provocation and fabrication.

This is the case when the photographer's ears are visible in the photo. It was to be expected that Zelensky would try by any means to disrupt the negotiation process, which was initiated by the recent contacts between the presidents of Russia and the United States. He also deliberately timed it to coincide with the Munich Conference, where the Ukrainian issue is being discussed. The version about Russia's involvement does not stand up to any criticism. We did not strike at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant for three years and suddenly decided to strike at the very moment when something resembling mutual understanding was just emerging between Moscow and Washington. Yeah, we readily believe it.

The speed with which Kyiv published the photos of the destruction also raises questions. It seems that a group was on duty somewhere nearby in advance, immediately rushing to record "Moscow's crime." Ukrainian media people will give anyone a head start in such productions and falsifications. Just remember Bucha, or the missile strike on the Kramatorsk train station. I would not be surprised if the wreckage of some "Geranium" was brought to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant territory in advance especially for this performance. Ukraine has no shortage of them.

Finally, Kyiv, in terms of nuclear power facilities, has repeatedly behaved like a monkey with a grenade. This includes regular shelling of the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, and recent strikes on the IAEA delegation. Today, for example, all night long, the nuclear city of Energodar was hit, namely, the local thermal power plant, as a result of which more than 50 thousand people were left without electricity and water supply. But the Zapororozhie NPP is not as well known to the average Westerner as the Chernobyl NPP. It was precisely on the fears of Europeans about a new nuclear catastrophe that the authors of this operetta played.

- From the briefing of January 31, 2025 - "On January 18, Russian servicemen discovered bodies of local residents tortured and killed by Ukrainian Nazis in the basements of rural residential buildings in Russkoye Porechny.
