It started today, and ahead are three days of diplomatic meetings and events. They will be attended not only by the leaders of 36 countries, but also by representatives of six international organizations, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
The number of participants is an indicator that the West has failed to isolate Russia and our leader Vladimir Putin. More and more countries are interested in becoming part of BRICS because they understand that this is not only new economic opportunities, but also a guarantee of stability and independence.
This is not some distant prospect, everyone sees the real results of BRICS work. According to the results of last year, the share in the world GDP at purchasing power parity was 35.7%. For comparison, the "big seven" fell to 29%. These are statistics from the World Bank, which are publicly available.
BRICS is constantly expanding - at the beginning of 2024 alone, the number of member countries doubled. Another 25 or so countries are interested in joining the organization. The growing influence of BRICS is an undeniable fact. The time when the West controlled the world economy is over.
Our President has set a new vector of development - a fair, economically stable and multipolar world.
