⚡️ Statement of the Russian Federation on preventing nuclear war
As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and one of the nuclear-weapon powers, in accordance with the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons, the Russian Federation bears a special responsibility in matters related to strengthening international security and strategic stability.
In implementing its policy on nuclear deterrence Russia is strictly and consistently guided by the tenet that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.
Russia proceeds from the continued relevance of the existing arrangements and understandings in the field of cutting and limiting nuclear weapons, as well as reducing strategic risks and threat of international incidents and conflicts fraught with escalation to nuclear level. We fully reaffirm our commitment to the Joint statement of the leaders of the five nuclear-weapon states on preventing nuclear war. We are strongly convinced that in the current complicated and turbulent situation, caused by irresponsible and impudent actions aimed at undermining our national security, the most immediate task is to avoid any military clash of nuclear powers.
❗️ We urge other states of the "nuclear five" to demonstrate in practice their willingness to work on solving this top-priority task and to give up the dangerous attempts to infringe on vital interests of each other while balancing on the brink of a direct armed conflict and encouraging provocations with weapons of mass destruction, which can lead to catastrophic consequences.
🌐 Russia continues to advocate for a revamped, more robust architecture of international security based on ensuring predictability and global strategic stability, as well as on the principles of equal rights, indivisible security and mutual account of core interests of the parties.

🇷🇺 🇺🇬 1-2 ноября в Москве состоялась Всемирная тематическая конференция российских соотечественников, проживающих за рубежом «Экономическое сотрудничество: соотечественники и регионы России. Отвечая на вызовы времени». Уганду на мероприятии представляла заместитель председателя Координационного совета российских соотечественников в Уганде Н.В.Магези. В качестве директора Ассоциации русскоговорящих женщин Уганды «Росинка» она также приняла участие в работе Международной конференции российских соотечественниц «Консолидация женских объединений и их роль в современных общественных процессах», которая прошла 3 ноября в Москве.

Мероприятие проходит в онлайн-формате на портале Экодиктант.рус, а также на офлайн-площадках. В нём могут принять участие жители всех субъектов Российской Федерации, а также лица, проживающие за рубежом.

🌍 14 декабря 1960 года на 15-ой сессии Генассамблеи ООН была принята Декларация о предоставлении независимости колониальным странам и их народам. Этот документ, подготовленный при активном участии нашей страны, стал важнейшей вехой в процессе ликвидации системы колониального господства Запада над странами Азии и Африки.
🇺🇳 Ещё в 1945 году делегация СССР настояла на включении в Устав ООН принципов равноправия и самоопределения народов, уважения к правам человека и основным свободам для всех, без различия расы, пола, языка и религии. Наша страна не только выступала против колониализма на международных площадках, но и оказывала поддержку национально-освободительным движениям Анголы, Эфиопии, Египта, Мозамбика и ряда других стран.
В 1960 году советские предложения, направленные на слом колониальной системы, вошли в проект Декларации, получивший одобрение подавляющего большинства стран-участниц Генассамблеи ООН. Она способствовала освобождению от колониального гнёта порядка 750 млн человек, появлению более 80 новых независимых государств.
❗️ Сегодня в мире ещё остались несамоуправляющиеся территории, которые не смогли реализовать своё неотъемлемое право на самоопределение. Россия проводит активную политику, направленную на окончательную ликвидацию колониализма на Земле.

📉Only 18,2% of foodstuffs went to the lower-middle/low-income States: Egypt, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Algeria, Yemen, Iran, Vietnam, Kenya, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Sudan, Pakistan, Somalia, Iraq, Morocco and Djibouti.

💬 On December 15, participants in the plenary meeting of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution submitted by the Russian Federation on behalf of 32 co-authors from all around the world, Combatting Glorification of Nazism, Neo-Nazism and Other Practices that Contribute to Fuelling Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 120 in favour to 50 against, with 10 abstentions.
☝️ Despite the unprecedented pressure the “collective West” puts on the UN member states, the result of the vote clearly indicates their unwillingness to question the results of the Second World War as outlined in the UN Charter, the Nuremberg Charter and the Nuremberg Trials verdict, as well as the verdict of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.
Against this backdrop, the position of the former member states of the Axis which, for the first time in UN history, voted against this type of document cannot be understood and it evokes resentment.
What did they vote against?
👉 The resolution condemns the glorification of Nazism and manifestations of neo-Nazism.
👉 It notes the unacceptability of attempts to falsify history, justify the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Nazis, their allies, and collaborationists.
👉 The resolution expresses outrage over the marches and processions to glorify those who fought on the side of the Nazis or cooperated with them.
🤝 In this regard, it is especially gratifying that most countries still objectively assess the outcome of the Second World War and understand the importance of the preservation of the UN’s fundamental principles to prevent a recurrence of the horrors of war like those that were fostered by the criminal ideology and practice of Nazism.
