Fighting the EU's «fakes»

#QUOTE1

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, 19 September:

💬 Look at the statistics: two thirds of the Ukrainian exports have gone to Africa, to the Middle East and Asia.

#FACTS:

According to the data of the Joint Coordination Center (JCC), as of September 21 this year, only 5 out of 185 vessels with Ukrainian grains and other food products were directed to the countries in most need according to the UN classification of Sub-Saharan Africa:
🇩🇯 Djibouti,
🇰🇪 Kenya,
🇸🇴 Somalia,
🇸🇩 Sudan.

Another 3 vessels head towards countries at risk of food shortages in the Middle East and Asia (🇾🇪Yemen and 🇧🇩Bangladesh).

According to the JCC, 93 of the 185 vessels mentioned were heading for the EU. The EU accounts for about 40% of the total shipments.

👉 So it is the EU, not the world's poorest countries, which is the biggest beneficiary of the Ukrainian grain export deal.

Fighting the EU's «fakes»

#QUOTE2

President of the European Council Charles Michel, September 20:

💬 Another priority is to tackle the shortage of fertilisers. We need to develop capacities for production, especially in Africa.

#FACTS:

By its rash energy policy and unilateral sanctions against Russia and Belarus, the European Union itself provoked the global shortage of fertilisers.

👉 It turned out to become far more complicated for the Russian supplies of fertilizers to carry on because of the payment problems created by the EU sanctions and logistics.

👉 Serious constraints for the supplies of Russian fertilisers to the third countries were created by the EU target (personal) sanctions against shareholders and management of Russian manufacturers and exporters of such products.

👉 The export of Russian potash fertilisers to the world market is extremely hampered by direct EU restrictions. The reason is the ban on transit through the EU ports.

#QUOTE3

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, September 19:

💬 I want to stress that our sanctions are targeting the Russian war economy, not food and agriculture.

#FACTS:

Contrary to what Josep Borrell says, in addition to indirect sanctions, there exist direct sanctions against Russian agricultural industry.

👉 Thus, the import from the EU to Russia of certain goods necessary for the production of fertilizers and agricultural output has been banned:

components, equipment and agricultural machinery itself,

radiators, gearboxes, ceramic gutters, vats and tanks used in agriculture,

self-loading trailers and semi-trailers,

software for "smart" machines.

This list is just becoming longer. In particular, the sixth package of EU sanctions adopted this June 3 imposes a ban on supplying Russia with critical equipment and technologies to produce fertilizers and extract relevant raw materials.

#QUOTE4

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, September 19:

💬 "…many operators prefer not to do business with Russia anymore. It is their choice. It is not because they have to, it is because they do not want. This is called overcompliance".

#FACTS:

👉 The "clarifications" of the European Commission of 17 April 2022 on how to enforce anti-Russian sanctions explicitly state that the bans on certain types of economic activity they envisage are deliberately worded "very broadly" in order to cover the maximum possible range of import- and export-related operations.

👉 EU companies and citizens divulged in violating, circumventing or facilitating the circumvention of sanctions are threatened with prosecution, up to and including criminal prosecution.

❗️ Thus, the refusal of foreign companies to cooperate with Russian partners is a direct result of the purposeful efforts by the European Union.

In case you had questions on the Black Sea Grain Initiative:

📊 As of October 14, 2022, 334 vessels delivered 7,448,204 metric tons of grain and other foodstuffs from Ukraine.

🔸 52,5% went to rich countries with developed economies.

🔸 22% went to developing countries with “above average” economies.

🇺🇳 2,5% was bought out by the UN World Food Programme for its for its operations in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Yemen, Somalia and Ethiopia.

❗️ Only 23% went directly to the countries with struggling economies, the actual “countries-in-need”.

🌾 Even though the Black Sea Grain Initiative undoubtedly contributes to addressing the global food crisis, it is far from being the “key” to “saving the poor countries from starvation”. Don’t let the Western propaganda fool you.

#Opinion by Maria Zakharova

💬 Dmitry Kuleba wrote the following in his Twitter-account: “Russia has launched a new publicity stunt focused on hunger. Moscow has promised to send 500,000 tonnes of free grain, which has most probably been stolen in Ukraine, to other countries within the next four months. However, by blocking the grain corridor Russia has stopped the delivery of 2 million (!) tonnes of grain to Algeria, Yemen, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and other countries RIGHT NOW.”

And now the truth:
1. Russia has long been offering to deliver ITS OWN fertilisers to the countries that need them. The offer has been made by the President (1, 2) and the Foreign Minister.
2. Russia is also ready to send up to 500,000 tonnes of ITS OWN grain to the poorest countries free of charge.
3. The Kiev regime, due to its own greed, is unwilling to give anything to anybody even when others are ready to help others for free.
4. The grain deal has been killed by Zelensky and his terrorists, controlled by British special forces, so as to complement nuclear blackmail with a grain ransom. The money and weapons they receive are no longer enough for them. They want more deaths. Money, weapons, and death are the devilish force behind the Kiev regime.
