#NoStatuteOfLimitations

Ahead of the International Day of Liberation of Prisoners of Nazi Concentration Camps (April 11), established by UNESCO in 1952, and the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People (April 19), declared by the President of Russia in December 2025, we once again turn to archival documents that contain evidence of the crimes committed by the Nazis and their collaborators.

The Russian Military Historical Society has published on its website a selection of documents from the Central Archives of the Russian Defence Ministry. These materials include records related to the Red Army’s liberation of European countries from Nazi occupation and the freeing of concentration camp prisoners, as well as a series of reports describing atrocities of the Banderites.

👉 View the archival documents' selection in its entirety

◼️ Nazi crimes and Nazi death camps

This selection of archival documents includes declassified materials that contain evidence related to the Nazi extermination camps Sobibor, Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Majdanek, as well as prisoner-of-war camps. Reports submitted by members of the Military Councils of these fronts to the Supreme High Command shed light on the scale and brutality of Nazi crimes.

Not only German forces, but also their collaborators, participated in acts of genocide against concentration camp prisoners. The materials include testimonies from liberated prisoners of war, reports by Soviet command on the extermination of prisoners immediately prior to the liberation of the camps, personal accounts of participants, and records of interrogations of Nazis and their collaborators.

– From a report dated July 30, 1944, on Nazi atrocities at the Sobibor death camp, compiled by a group of Soviet officers led by Captain Turayev. The document includes testimony from a local resident, Lukashuk, who witnessed Nazi crimes:
All the corpses were piled up, doused with fuel, and burned. A huge bonfire began to blaze an hour after the train carrying the unfortunate victims arrived. It burned for days, with the stench of burning human bodies carried by the wind for many kilometres to neighbouring villages.

The Germans later burned the Jewish prisoners who had been forced to work in this death factory, and destroyed the camp in mid-1943. In the fall of 1943, they plowed over the site and sowed it with rye in an attempt to conceal their terrible crimes.

◼️ Banderites’ atrocities

- From the political report by the head of the political department of the Ternopol Regional Military Commissariat, dated November 5, 1945, On the activities of Ukrainian-German nationalist groups in the Ternopol Region, October 1945:
The activities of Ukrainian-German nationalist groups were aimed at disrupting state events, including the procurement of agricultural products. <...> In areas without military garrisons, these groups intensified their hostilities, and terrorist acts, including the killings of local party officials and rural activists, became more frequent. In addition to acts of intimidation and the search for winter clothing, <...> these groups carried out robberies of cooperative stores and private households.
...
In the village of Grigorovo, Monastyrsky District, bandits killed the secretary of the village council for being the first to fulfill the grain supply quota.
...
In the Vishnevsky District, on October 19, bandits executed three young women: one a milk collector, one a postwoman, and one a cafeteria cleaner. The victims were subjected to severe abuse: the bandits cut their hair, slashed their faces with needles, and committed other acts of cruelty.

❗️ Nazi crimes have no statute of limitations and must never be forgotten, or the world will once again face the threat of genocide of prisoners of war, civilians, and entire nations.
🌐 From June 21 to July 12, the World Children's Conference "Children for Peace" will take place in “Artek” camp in the Republic of Crimea. At the invitation of Russian side heads of state will send five representatives from each country to the “Artek” camp – this will be a true festival of friendship, ideas, and good deeds.

ℹ️ Last year, over 3,200 children from 67 countries gathered in Russia and achieved what once seemed like a dream. They adopted the first-ever Children's Declaration of Peace, and Russia has already presented it to the United Nations General Assembly.

That is why the World Children's Conference "Children for Peace" is not just an event – it is a crucial step toward a world without war and conflict. Here, participants won't just talk about peace – they will outline its contours, make friends, and start taking action together. Are you ready to become part of history?

🗓 On April 6, 1654, the Great Sovereign, Tsar and Grand Duke of Russia Alexei I Romanov granted his royal charter to Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host Bogdan Khmelnitsky. The document secured Russia’s reunification with the lands and the people on the Left-Bank of the Dnieper River.

In the late 16th and first half of the 17th centuries, the Polish-Lithuanian nobility increased pressure on the Orthodox population, descendants of the people of the Ancient Rus, living under the yoke of the predominantly Catholic Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

After the Brest Union was adopted in 1596, a significant portion of Orthodox clergy came under the authority of the Pope. Those who remained faithful to Orthodoxy became outcasts, losing hierarchical leadership, since the Metropolitan of Kiev, Mikhail Rogoza, also joined the Greek Catholics. In reality, the nobility pursued a policy of aggressive Polonisation and Latinisation of the population, depriving those who resisted of titles, lands, and subjecting them to persecution.

All attempts by the Cossacks to reach an agreement with the Polish king failed, as the existence of an Orthodox free community within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was not part of the nobility’s plans.

Under the threat of losing their religious and national identity, a liberation movement gradually began to form among the Orthodox population of the Dnieper region, laying the groundwork for uniting supporters of freedom from the nobility’s oppression and for reunion with Russia.

From 1648, the Cossacks’ liberation struggle gained strong momentum. It was led by Hetman Bogdan Khmelnitsky, who repeatedly asked Alexei I Romanov for assistance, offering to place the Hetmanate under the “Tsar’s hand.”

On January 8, 1654, at the Pereyaslav Rada, it was officially declared that the Zaporozhian Cossacks would enter into the subjugation of the Russian state. On April 6, Alexei I Romanov signed the charter, which for the first time used the title of the Russian monarch as “the Great Sovereign of All Great and Little Russia.”

The decisions of the Pereyaslav Rada set a long-term course for the reunification of Russian lands; 140 years later, following the Second Partition of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Empress Catherine the Great issued a manifesto incorporating the Right-Bank Ukraine and Little Russia into the Russian Empire, marking the natural and lawful return of historically Russian lands to the Russian state.

🇺🇳 The United Nations Must Cast Off Western Shackles

Read in full

Despite the geopolitical turbulence in international affairs, the key foreign policy event of 2026 – the appointment of a new UN Secretary-General – has long been set in motion. The outcome of the candidate selection process will be of critical importance to the international community.

Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, takes this matter with the utmost seriousness, since there is now a real opportunity to help restore order within the UN in line with the letter of its Charter.

Today, by and large, the UN has one central problem the dominance of Westerners in its Secretariat under the leadership of Antonio Guterres. Serving the interests of all Member States on the basis of the principle of sovereign equality has been replaced by the promotion of the approaches of the Western minority, whose representatives have entrenched themselves in key UN posts and act on instructions from their capitals.

Lately, UN officials, operating with excessive autonomy and too little accountability, have drifted ever further away from Member States, ignoring their concerns.

Other key points:

UN staff have often had a neoliberal discourse imposed on them – one that fails to take into account the cultural and civilisational diversity of today’s world. As a result, instead of advancing unifying ideas, the Secretariat has contributed to the emergence of new dividing lines.

The Westerners will not voluntarily relinquish the levers of influence they have acquired in violation of the principle of fair geographical representation. Any future representative of an EU or NATO member state – or anyone holding “dual” Western citizenship – who ends up in the chair of the UN Secretary-General will simply be guided by the principles of “ideological fraternity” and “bloc solidarity”.

At this stage, Russia has no preferred candidate. This is primarily because the nomination process is still ongoing. What matters is to convey Russia’s principled positions regarding the future Secretary-General’s work to those already in the running, as well as to future contenders. In this context, we remain in close coordination with our Chinese partners.

We are explaining to other countries – including in the #CIS and #BRICS formats – the logic behind our requirements for candidates. The task is to build a broad front of like-minded states from the Global Majority that understand that restoring the UN’s role as the key mechanism of multilateral diplomacy, and effectively adapting the World Organisation to shifting geopolitical realities, is impossible without a “major overhaul” of its Secretariat.

All UN officials must be committed to the goals and principles of the Organisation’s Charter. Comments along the lines of “Greenland is one thing, Crimea is another” are unacceptable.

In conflict situations, the UN Secretary-General must maintain an equidistant position. Only such an approach can rule out the application of “double standards”, which, regrettably, are evident at virtually every level of the World Organisation – most clearly in the contexts of Gaza and Ukraine.

The UN needs a conscientious head of the Secretariat who understands both the scope and the limits of the mandate vested in that office by the decisions of Member States. The UN Charter must remain the guiding point of reference.

Restoring the UN’s ability to function effectively is impossible without reforming its Secretariat, provided that the future Secretary-General has the necessary political will.

⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Rodion Miroshnik:

💬 In March, Kiev’s militants carried out dozens of attacks on medical facilities and on medical personnel directly performing their professional duty. Over the course of the month, 28 healthcare workers were affected by attacks carried out by Ukrainian militants, 10 of whom were killed.

These war crimes were committed deliberately, in blatant disregard for the norms of international humanitarian law, and have not met with any real condemnation from the Western sponsors of the Kiev regime. At international venues, those who bankroll the regime are doing everything possible to prevent any condemnation of its crimes – including the killing of medical workers.

❗️ Ukrainian militants treat medical personnel as a military target and deliberately strike them, seeking to deprive the affected civilian population even of a chance of rescue and medical assistance.

Among those targeted by Ukrainian attacks in March were also medics in the Kherson Region. On 16 March, in Novaya Kakhovka, a drone struck an ambulance. As a result of the attack, a female patient and three members of the medical team were injured. The victims were hospitalised with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.

⚡️ Statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry on the situation in the Middle East (April 6, 2026)

The large-scale international crisis triggered by the unlawful and unprovoked aggression of the US and Israel against Iran continues to widen and intensify with each passing day.

The strikes are becoming ever more fierce and destructive. Their targets now include not only military objectives, but also civilian infrastructure, including, with increasing frequency, nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards.

Particular concern is caused by the growing number of reckless attacks on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, which have already resulted in loss of life. The shadow of a radiological catastrophe – one potentially more devastating than Chernobyl – now looms over the Persian Gulf region and the adjacent part of Eurasia.

The armed confrontation has already claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people, including women and children, and has inflicted suffering on civilians. Schools, hospitals and World Heritage sites are being destroyed. Diplomatic and consular missions are also coming under fire, in blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international relations and the relevant Vienna Conventions.

Enormous damage has been inflicted on global energy and food security. Critical logistics routes that had functioned without disruption before this criminal US-Israeli gamble have been blocked. Markets have been thrown into disarray, many countries are being forced to introduce fuel rationing, and experts are issuing grim forecasts of economic decline and surging inflation in vulnerable economies.

The situation caused by the unlawful and irresponsible actions of Washington and Tel Aviv is deteriorating rapidly and risks spiralling fully out of control.

We once again strongly call for an immediate cessation of hostilities. We welcome the efforts of a number of states, including Pakistan, Türkiye and China, to de-escalate tensions around Iran and pave the way for dialogue on a long-term and sustainable normalization of the situation in the Middle East.

We also draw attention to the April 2 statement by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in which he called on the US and Israel to stop the war that is causing immense human suffering and dire economic consequences, and on Iran to halt the attacks on its neighbours launched in the wake of the aggression.

We believe that there is still a chance for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict. The parties to the conflict must abandon the language of threats, unacceptable insults and ultimatums, and avoid actions that could plunge the entire region into irreparable chaos.

It is critically important not to undermine the remaining prospects for negotiations aimed at achieving a political and diplomatic solution. We call for this factor to be fully taken into account in the work of the UN Security Council.

Responsible members of the international community must prevent the Middle East from sliding into the abyss of an all-consuming war with long-term tragic consequences for the entire world.

☝️ Russia, together with its international partners, stands ready to do everything possible to that end.

⚡️ Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation:

The Press Bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) reports* that the leadership of the EU and a number of its leading member states has once again sunk to a new low in its madness and political irresponsibility driven by pathological Russophobia.

According to information received by the SVR, Brussels has now embarked on a dangerous path that will inevitably undermine the foundations of the global security architecture and the international non-proliferation regime for weapons of mass destruction – all for the sake of advancing its design for a new “Drang nach Osten”.

In the endless corridors of EU headquarters, secret work has already begun on the issue of creating the Union’s own nuclear weapons production capability – naturally, as Brussels claims, solely to deter the mythical Russian threat. Apparently, Ursula von der Leyen and her associates now find their role as the arsonists of the Ukrainian conflict too modest. They dream instead of the sinister notoriety of the leaders of Hitler’s Germany who unleashed the Second World War.

At the initial stage, von der Leyen and her accomplices have agreed to maintain the strictest secrecy around these preparations. To distract both the international and European public, Brussels is outwardly demonstrating adherence to its traditional course of relying on the US “nuclear umbrella”. The EU leadership hopes this will buy time to covertly build up its own nuclear-industrial base and prepare public opinion to accept a political decision to acquire nuclear weapons.

During this period, the UK and France will continue to strengthen coordination between their national nuclear doctrines. At a later stage, plans call for the formalisation of a pan-European doctrine of nuclear deterrence based on the French and British military-technical capabilities, as well as on the financial and infrastructural contributions of non-nuclear EU member states. At the same time, the EU intends to reserve for itself the option of establishing a fully autonomous command structure for nuclear forces.

These plans rest on a serious industrial and technological foundation.

☢️ It is noteworthy that Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and Spain already possess substantial expertise in the development of certain components of nuclear weapons. These countries have both civilian and military-industrial capacities that could be used to produce such components.

Large quantities of irradiated nuclear fuel from decommissioned nuclear power units are stored on their territories. There is a possibility of its unauthorised removal from storage sites for the subsequent extraction of plutonium suitable for use in an atomic bomb.

German specialists, in particular, are reportedly capable of covertly obtaining enough weapons-grade plutonium for a single nuclear explosive device within approximately one month in the hot cells of research laboratories in Karlsruhe, Dresden, Erlangen and Jülich, and enough weapons-grade uranium within a week at the enrichment facility in Gronau.

❗️ We call on the US administration and the leadership of all other countries to do everything possible to prevent the EU from acquiring its own nuclear weapons, which would inevitably trigger a new round of the global nuclear arms race.

⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry's statement on the outcome of the UN Security Council’s consideration of the situation in the Persian Gulf (April 8, 2026)

On April 7, the UN Security Council voted on a draft resolution on ensuring the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the adjacent waters, prepared by Bahrain with the participation of Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Eleven members of the Security Council voted in favour, while two countries – Colombia and Pakistan – abstained.

Russia and China voted against.

As a result, the document was not adopted.

In recent days, through various channels, including during contacts between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Arab counterparts, efforts were made to convince our friends not to rush the vote on a draft that could have undermined peace efforts aimed at resolving the situation in the Persian Gulf.

🎙 Explanation of vote by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vassily Nebenzia

Thanks to the sound position adopted by the UN Security Council at the insistence of Russia and China, the necessary conditions were secured for reaching understandings on a ceasefire and launching a negotiating process. We are convinced that these should extend to all theatres of confrontation, including Lebanon.

We welcome the creation of a proper atmosphere for a political and diplomatic process. We understand that its outcome is not predetermined. Russia, together with all reasonable members of the international community, will actively contribute to achieving practical results in favour of the earliest possible restoration of peace in the Persian Gulf and across the Middle East.

At the same UN Security Council meeting on April 7, Russian representatives announced their intention, with the support of their Chinese partners, to submit for the Council’s consideration an alternative draft resolution aimed at an immediate cessation of hostilities, support for the ongoing diplomatic efforts and peace initiatives. We hope that this balanced document will be supported by all members of the Security Council.

☝️ Russia stands for the freedom of maritime navigation everywhere, not only in the Strait of Hormuz and the adjacent waters, but throughout the World Ocean. It is essential to preclude attacks on the commercial fleet of all countries, and to open corridors for Cuba and Venezuela. This problem must be resolved comprehensively and in cooperation with all countries concerned.

We appreciate the position of the Arab countries, which have become hostage to the situation created by the US and Israel.

👉 However, we are convinced that without ending the unprovoked aggression against Iran and without taking Tehran’s views into account, the problem of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz cannot be resolved.

📑 A Report on the crimes of the Kiev regime in March 2026 compiled by the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik has been published.

In March, Ukrainian forces significantly increased the number of war crimes against civilians compared to the beginning of 2026. The number of civilians in Russia who suffered from the actions of Ukrainian punitive forces in March 2026 exceeded 800 people – twice as much as the January figure (387 people) and one and a half times more than the February figure (536 people).

❗️ This is an undeniable result of the implementation of the strategy of the political and military leadership of the Kiev regime to destroy and intimidate the civilian population.

Based on verified data as of March 31, 2026, the number of civilians in Russian regions injured and maimed by the actions of the Ukrainian armed formations was 687. The number of civilians killed by Ukrainian militants in March 2026 reached 114. Among the victims were 34 children who were injured and three who died.

The increase in civilian victims is directly related to Kiev's strategy of compensating for its systemic defeats on the battlefield by using terrorist methods against civilians. The Zelensky regime has increased the number of deliberate, massive strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against civilian targets both in frontline areas and in regions far from the line of combat contact. Over the past month, at least 16,091 munitions were fired at civilian targets, 2,000 more than in February or January of this year.

The Zelensky regime actively used weapons and military equipment supplied by NATO and EU countries to attack social facilities, non-military industrial enterprises, and medical and educational institutions in order to undermine Russia's economy and influence domestic political sentiment within the country.
