⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik:
💬 Over 150 civilians, including one minor, were injured last week as a result of actions by the Ukrainian militants.
In addition to local residents, volunteer groups were also targeted – five volunteers were injured, two of whom were killed.
EMERCOM responders, who arrived to deal with the aftermath of Ukrainian shelling, also came under attack. Five were wounded and one employee was killed.
The highest number of civilian casualties was recorded in the Belgorod, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. In these areas, civilian infrastructure and the civilian population were targeted with drone, missile and artillery strikes by Kiev's armed formations.
❗️ Between February 23 and March 1, at least 153 civilians were affected by Ukrainian shelling – 131 people were injured, including one minor, and 22 were killed.
In total, over the past seven days, Ukrainian armed formations fired no fewer than 3,352 munitions at civilian targets on Russian territory.

🗓 On February 24, marking the fourth year since the launch of Russia’s special military operation, the 11th Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly on the Ukraine crisis (#ESS) was reconvened at the initiative of Kiev and its European backers.
During the session, this group of countries introduced yet another biased, anti-Russia resolution. This time it was deceptively titled “Support for a Lasting Peace in Ukraine” and, unlike previous resolutions adopted at the 11th ESS, was deliberately kept brief.
The authors of the resolution were compelled to adopt this tactical approach by the steadily declining support for their anti-Russia initiatives at the General Assembly, which have clearly grown tiresome for the overwhelming majority of the international community.
This one-sided, politicised text, in addition to the usual unfounded accusations against Russia, selectively cites the UN Charter while remaining silent on the root causes of the conflict around Ukraine. Without addressing these causes, a lasting and sustainable settlement is simply unattainable. The draft also contains an absurd tribute to the “efforts” of European countries that continue to funnel weapons to the Kiev regime, allegedly “aimed at ending the war”.
In an attempt to broaden its support among General Assembly members, the document is saturated with pseudo-peaceful language, including calls for a ceasefire, prisoner exchanges, and the return of forcibly displaced persons, including children, framed as “confidence-building measures”. Such wording appears particularly cynical in light of the long record of duplicity demonstrated by the Kiev regime and its European sponsors, who have repeatedly shown their inability to negotiate in good faith by undermining every agreement reached, beginning with the Minsk accords.
👉 There is no doubt that this clumsy manoeuvring by Kiev and the Europeans in the General Assembly was intended to create a smokescreen around the trilateral negotiation process.
This was once again evident during the vote, when the Kiev regime, backed by the European “war party”, positioned itself against the broader international community, which supports genuine efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, as well as against the other two parties to the negotiations. The US delegation, explicitly stating that the Ukrainian-European initiative at the General Assembly was detrimental to the negotiation process, requested a separate vote on several destructive provisions of the draft.
Ultimately, the General Assembly voted on the original draft: 107 delegations voted in favour, 12 against, 51 states (including the US) abstained, and 23 did not participate.
Rather than a success, Kiev and its backers secured a distinctly unconvincing result and incurred significant political costs, having exposed themselves as opponents of peace. The widening transatlantic rift over the Ukrainian issue is also becoming increasingly apparent.
Overall, the discussions at the UN clearly reflect the international community’s fatigue with the Ukrainian issue – a situation our opponents are attempting to keep artificially alive. Against this backdrop, what is required are genuine efforts toward a peaceful settlement, efforts in which Russia is participating in good faith.
☝️ Moscow hopes that all reasonable members of the international community will likewise support the said efforts, without being distracted by minor obstructions.

In pursuit of its twisted political agenda to discredit, to mar Russia's image and justify criminal Kiev regime, the neoliberal Western press does not hesitate to resort to bald-faced lies.
On February 17, Financial Times published another malicious article titled “Russia is using monuments to peddle misinformation.”
The author, some Fiona Greenland, Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Virginia, previously helped make up the mythology behind the fake story about “millions of kidnapped and deported Ukrainian children.”
These cynical accusations which are repeated lies echoing the Kiev criminals with no evidence whatsoever have been repeatedly refuted with multiple real facts.
The author went even further in her blatant. blinding cynicism: the article speaks of the propagandistic nature of the Alley of Angels memorial complex, which was built in Donetsk in 2015 in memory of children murdered by the Kiev regime during the war it started in 2014 against the peaceful people of Donbass.
The very fact that a memorial site with the names of murdered CHILDREN engraved on it is being used for such manipulations goes beyond not only journalism but basic human morality. Where any normal person would lower their head in mourning, the author allows herself to speculate about “propaganda value” of death of children and declares the preservation of their memory an act of "Kremlin propaganda".
The same well-worn scheme, refined over the years, is being used: declare remembrance to be “propaganda” and, under that pretext, attempt to erase it. This is precisely how the West seeks to rewrite the outcomes of the WWII: monuments to Soviet liberators are an eyesore for the descendants of Nazis and their ideological followers. In the same way, they are now attempting to whitewash the bloody Kiev regime of crimes and terrorist attacks.
In an effort to absolve Zelensky and his sponsors, the newspaper casts doubt on the very fact of children’s deaths, asserting that Kiev killed no one and that the memorials erected in memory of the victims serve a propagandistic purpose which Russia is supposedly using to "justify its aggression".
To follow this logic, why should the Financial Times not call London’s Cenotaph “propaganda,” or call so the ruins of the French village of Oradour-sur-Glane? Perhaps the American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy, is merely a propaganda artefact, too? The Ground Zero Memorial in New York, according to FT, is not about remembering the victims of terrorism, either?
The evidence of crimes committed by the Kiev regime is so extensive that only those actively avoiding such information could fail to notice it. For those suffering from selective blindness 👉 we have compiled a selection of photos and videos documenting crimes by the Kiev regime against the civilians, including minors.
This is just a small fraction of the evidence, that has been presented time and again. We also recommend consulting the reports compiled by Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large for Crimes of the Kiev Regime Rodion Miroshnik 👉 Learn more
The Financial Times would do better to concern itself with the names of those killed — according to the Kiev regime — in Bucha in April 2022. The Russian Federation, including through Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, repeatedly requested a list of the alleged victims from the UN Secretary-General
But all they do is throw up hands saying that the Kiev regime for unclear (or rather, very clear) reasons requests that no lists be provided. It is obvious that the truth about the events in Bucha would expose the staged nature of this heinous provocation.
As for the Alley of Angels in Donetsk, behind each child’s name there is a real tragedy of real residents of Donbass who became victims of crimes perpetrated by the Kiev regime.
Rest assured, Russia will continue to seek accountability for all those responsible for those abject crimes. Meanwhile, false and low-quality materials like this article will forever leave a mark of inhumanity on their authors

⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry statement on the situation in the Middle East (March 5, 2026)
💬 Moscow is deeply concerned that the situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate.
There are no signs that the US and Israel – which launched a military operation under a completely far-fetched pretext aimed at overthrowing the legitimate authorities in Iran – are prepared to show restraint and stop the bloodshed. On the contrary, belligerent statements continue to flow from their capitals, while the Israeli army has carried out a new incursion into Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the aggressors are seeking to sow division within the Islamic world in the midst of the holy month of Ramadan.
They deliberately provoked Iran into retaliatory strikes against facilities in several Arab countries, which resulted in human casualties and material damage – developments that the Russian side deeply regrets.
In doing so, they are attempting to draw Arab states into a war serving someone else’s interests. At the same time, they are trying to divert attention from the catastrophic plight of the Palestinian people.
Russia once again calls on all parties to the current confrontation to immediately cease hostilities, including unacceptable strikes on the territory of the Arab states of the Gulf.
We consider attacks on civilians and strikes against any civilian infrastructure – whether in Iran or in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council – to be absolutely unacceptable.
❗️ It is clear that the only way to prevent the region from sliding further into the abyss of destabilization is to stop the aggression of the US and Israel, which triggered this chain reaction of suffering for the Arab peoples.

💬 Extract from the briefing by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Moscow, March 4, 2026
Ukrainian crisis update
• The Banderite neo-Nazi regime, under the guise of so-called military expediency, continues to violate international humanitarian law, perpetrate terrorist attacks, and vent its frustration over battlefield failures on civilians.
• The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have once again deliberately targeted purely civilian facilities – residential buildings, medical and educational institutions, and civil and social enterprises – unrelated to the military-industrial complex, using drones and multiple rocket launchers. Over the past week, I must reiterate, more than 150 civilians, including one child, have been affected. Twenty-two people have lost their lives. I always substantiate these facts with concrete examples.
• Kherson Region. On February 23, a local resident was killed in the village of Lyubimovka due to artillery shelling of a residential area. On March 2, the AFU struck an office of Russian Interior Ministry in Golaya Pristan. According to confirmed reports, five officers were killed, and six were injured. Over the past weekend in the region, five people died, and 15 – including, once again, one child – were wounded due to Ukrainian UAVs and barrel artillery.
• Belgorod Region. On February 24, in the village of Chaiki, Belgorod District, a driver from the Prioskolye agricultural enterprise was killed by an AFU drone strike. On February 28, in the village of Rozhdestvenka, Graivoron District, two people were injured when a munition landed on the grounds of a private home. On March 1, in the village of Tserkovny, Belgorod District, a drone attack on a local agricultural complex left three workers wounded. On March 2, a resident of the village of Golovchino, Graivoron District, was killed by the detonation of a UAV.
• Incidentally, Western journalists are also witnessing the Kiev regime’s outright hunt for civilians in Russian regions. This was the experience of Ivor Bennett, Moscow correspondent for the British television channel Sky News. He travelled to film the situation in the residential community of Shebekino, Belgorod Region. The crew’s vehicle was attacked by an AFU kamikaze drone laden with explosives. The munition miraculously failed to detonate on impact. Notably, the British journalist, who repeatedly mentioned the phrase “Russian aggression” during his report, later naively questioned why their car had become a target for a Ukrainian UAV. Because the Kiev regime is hunting journalists. It is a special item on the menu at Bankovaya Street. Do not believe it? Then take a look at the Mirotvorets extremist website. See how many journalists are listed there. Yes, that’s what they have marked as targets. And it is not just Russian journalists. It is all journalists who do not serve the Kiev regime. Or even those who, as they say, do not “go against the grain of Bankovaya” but are deemed insufficiently loyal by the Kiev regime. The incident was, by the correspondent’s own admission, a “terrifyingly close illustration of the everyday dangers” faced by local residents. At least he acknowledged that much. Yes, it is indeed a terrifyingly close illustration of the everyday dangers. I would add the word “tragedy”– one that has not just unfolded but has been unfolding at full throttle, unfortunately, for many years before our very eyes. It’s just that British journalists, primarily, somehow failed to notice.
• Zaporozhye Region. On February 23, a drone strike damaged the building of Dneprorudnoye District Hospital, harming its therapeutic department. On March 1, on the Vasilyevka– Berdyansk motorway in the Chernigov Municipal District, two women were injured in an AFU terrorist attack, one of whom died.
