Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing
15 мая в Манаме «на полях» 33-го саммита Лиги арабских государств специальный представитель Президента Российской Федерации по Ближнему Востоку и странам Африки, заместитель Министра иностранных дел Российской Федерации М.Л.Богданов встретился с и.о. Председателя Совета министров Ливанской Республики Наджибом Микати.
В ходе беседы состоялся углубленный обмен мнениями по складывающейся военно-политической ситуации на Ближнем Востоке с акцентом на трагические события в секторе Газа и их влияние на обстановку на юге Ливана. С российской стороны была подтверждена неизменная позиция в поддержку единства, территориальной целостности и суверенитета Ливанской Республики, подчеркнута недопустимость дальнейшей эскалации палестино-израильской вооруженной конфронтации и ее разрастания в региональном масштабе. Выражена также надежда на скорейшее преодоление институционального кризиса в Ливане через избрание президента страны на основе межливанского согласия.

The Soviet Union was the first country to recognise the new China.
Moscow and Beijing have built a solid track record in terms of their practical cooperation. In 2023, bilateral trade increased by almost 25%, reaching $227 billion, which was quite a positive result.

Today, our cooperation in global affairs is one of the main stabilising factors on the international stage.
