⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry’s statement on Israeli strikes against Doha
On September 9, Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on buildings in a residential district of Doha, the capital of Qatar, targeting senior leaders of the Palestinian movement Hamas. According to available information, six people were killed in the attack, including an employee of Qatar’s Interior Ministry, and several others were injured.
❗️ Russia regards these actions as a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter, an encroachment on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of an independent state and a step that risks further escalation and destabilisation in the Middle East. Such methods of dealing with those whom Israel considers its enemies and opponents deserve the strongest condemnation.
At the same time, the missile strike on Qatar – a country playing a key mediating role in indirect talks between Hamas and the Israeli leadership on ending the nearly two-year-long war in Gaza and securing the release of those held captive – can only be seen as an attempt to undermine international efforts to find a peaceful solution.
☝️ In this regard, Moscow once again calls on all parties involved to act responsibly and to refrain from steps that could further degrade the situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and complicate the search for a political settlement.
Russia reaffirms its principled and consistent position on the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. We firmly believe that a comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian question, on the well-established international legal basis, is the only viable way forward.

The Ministers had an in-depth discussion of the current state and prospects for further strengthening multifaceted Russian-Saudi relations.
They highlighted the importance of efforts to maintain the high dynamics of the political dialogue between Moscow and Riyadh and intensify joint work to expand trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
They also discussed a range of topical issues on the international and regional agenda with an emphasis on the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone.

🇷🇺🇧🇭 On September 11, on the sidelines of the eighth ministerial meeting of the Russia – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Strategic Dialogue in Sochi, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
While exchanging opinions on the current issues on the Middle Eastern agenda the Foreign Ministers focused on settling crisis situations, including in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The Ministers also discussed further development of the traditionally friendly Russian-Bahraini relations, including extension of cooperation in trade, the economy, investment, culture and the humanitarian area.
They underscored their orientation towards enhancing bilateral political coordination, including the election of Bahrain as a nonpermanent member of the UN Security Council.

🇷🇺🇶🇦📞 During a telephone conversation between Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar Mohammed Al Thani, the head of Russian diplomacy expressed solidarity with the leadership and people of Qatar following the Israeli strikes on Doha on September 9, 2025.
Sergey Lavrov conveyed sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased Qatari nationals, alongside wishes for a swift recovery to those injured.
The Russian Side reaffirmed its resolute condemnation of this aggressive act as a flagrant violation of international law and an unacceptable assault on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of friendly Qatar. Serious concern was articulated regarding Israel’s actions, which risk further destabilising the situation in the Middle East.
Mohammed Al Thani expressed gratitude for Russia’s clear and principled stance in support of the sovereignty and independence of the State of Qatar, as well as its endeavours to safeguard its independence and territorial integrity.
🤝 The Parties agreed to continue close coordination, including in the context of an emergency UN Security Council meeting scheduled for September 11, 2025, in New York at Qatar’s initiative, which Mohammed Al Thani will attend.

❓ Вопрос: Дипломаты проделали колоссальную работу. Как Вам удалось в столь сжатые сроки привезти в нашу страну для этого конкурса 22 страны, (включая Россию – 23)?
💬 С.В.Лавров: Главный ответ на вопрос заключается в том, что это – прекрасная идея. Об этом только что сказал Президент В.В.Путин в своём обращении к участникам «Интервидения» и ко всем зрителям.
Для нас очевидно, что был спрос на такого рода конкурс. Мы изначально хотели, чтобы участниками были страны #БРИКС и их партнёры. В объединении есть много культурно-гуманитарных мероприятий: ежегодные театральные фестивали, конкурс театральных школ. Есть задумка сделать литературную премию и ряд других проектов, которые востребованы в странах БРИКС и уверен – во всём мире.
Когда мы сообщили нашим партнёрам об этом конкурсе, практически сразу большинство из них откликнулись позитивно. Весть об этом разнеслась по всей Земле. Страны, которые далеки от БРИКС географически, организационно решили выдвинуть своих участников. Когда хорошая идея падает на правильную почву, всё получается.
❓ Вопрос: Почему такой конкурс, как «Интервидение», необходим именно сегодня, в 2025 году?
💬 С.В.Лавров: Так получилось. В 2024 году была такая инициатива от Фонда сохранения и поддержки культурного наследия и развития национальной и мировой культуры «Традиции искусства». Министерство иностранных дел, другие наши структуры, Министерство культуры поддержали эту идею и вынесли на одобрение Президента. Он его дал. Работа закрутилась, завертелась.
Тем не менее, год символичный, потому что первый конкурс «Интервидение» ещё в советские времена прошёл в 1965 году. 60-летний юбилей мы отмечаем достойно.

Артист спел песню, посвященную герою вьетнамской мифологии Тхань Зенгу, который, по легендам, спас страну от китайских завоевателей. За выступление Дык Фук получит главный приз «Интервидения» — 30 млн руб. и хрустальный кубок.
В следующем году «Интервидение» пройдет в Саудовской Аравии.
