🇷🇺🇺🇸📞 On July 29, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, at the latter’s initiative.

The ministers discussed current developments in Ukraine.

FM Lavrov drew the Secretary of State’s attention to the fact that the continued arming of the armed forces of Ukraine and nationalist battalions with US and NATO weapons is only prolonging the agony of the Kiev regime by dragging out the conflict and increasing the number of victims. Sergey Lavrov stressed that the armed forces of Russia strictly observe the norms of international law and that Russia has engaged in consistent efforts to restore peaceful life on the territories that it is liberating.

They also exchanged views on the problems besetting bilateral relations. As for the potential prisoner swap between the countries, Sergey Lavrov strongly advised a return to professional dialogue in the context of “quiet diplomacy” without any dubious media leaks.

🎙 Statement by Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy at UNSC briefing on Ukraine

READ IN FULL

▪️ Cruelty of Ukrainian nationalists, their indifference to the people of southern and eastern Ukraine have affected the spirit of those who live there. In Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, people stand lines to apply for Russian passports. Despite the fact that Ukrainian authorities intimidate their citizens in every possible way, committing acts of terror against employees of civil administrations and initiating criminal prosecution for transfer into the Russian citizenship, people still make their choice in favor of a country they trust, in favor of a normal future for themselves and their children. Ukraine is losing those people by the minute – the way it lost the people of Donbas once the Kiev regime waged a war of extermination on them back in 2014.

▪️ The Kiev regime tries to exact vengeance even on its own military who finally realized the futility of fulfilling the criminal orders and surrendered to have a chance for redemption and peaceful life. US-made HIMARS MLRS struck a detention center near Elenovka in Donbas earlier today, killing more than 50 Ukrainian PoWs. However this scare tactic will only encourage Ukrainian servicemen to surrender. There are mass cases when Ukrainian soldiers refuse to continue fighting. We see such instances daily.

▪️ Reckless “pumping up” of Ukraine with weapons, artillery systems, and firearms trigger a situation when, due to flourishing corruption among Ukrainian political and military leadership, those weapons spread throughout Europe. We know that a considerable part of it goes from warehouses straight into the hands of smugglers and then, via established channels – to the global black market of arms. Such information is almost openly publicized at corresponding web resources. The problem has assumed such a huge scope that even mainstream Western media can no longer turn a blind eye to it.

Even Europol had to recognize this. Last week its spokesperson Jan Op Gen Oorth said in a comment to DPA that Europol was aware of reports about trade in heavy weapons. He also admitted that European law enforcement had some information about firearms being smuggled out of Ukraine. The spokesperson stressed that there remained risks of those arms falling in the hands of organized crime or terrorists.

▪️ You know what President Zelensky of Ukraine said the night the UAF killed 5 children in a row? Do you think he extended his condolences to the parents who had lost what was the most precious in their lives? Far from it! I will cite his words. He said, “finally it is felt that the Western artillery—the weapons we received from our partners— started working very powerfully. Its accuracy is exactly as needed.”

I am now turning to my American, British, and French colleagues sitting at this table. I want you to understand clearly this one thing – your countries deliver weapons to Ukraine, weapons that are purchased with your taxpayers’ money, and those weapons kill children. And President of Ukraine mocks at this, praising the accuracy of those weapons. Is it what you wanted? If not, where are your words of condemnation of this unthinkable profanity?

⚓️ Today Russia celebrates #NavyDay, July 31, by tradition on the last Sunday of this summer month.

For 326 years the Navy safeguarded our nation's interests and borders. It has come a long way – from wooden two-masted flat-bottomed boats of Peter the Great’s era, to formidable nuclear underwater missile cruisers.

📃 The true foundation of the Russian naval traditions was laid on October 30, 1696 when the Boyar Duma, upon the request of Peter the Great, approved his decree on the construction of a navy.

“The Russian Navy shall set sail.”

Learn more about the Russian Navy's history, traditions and capabilities.

🌊 This year St Petersburg per tradition hosts the Main Naval Parade in honour of the Day. 40+ warships and submarines will take part in it. The pride of our fleet can be seen in the Neva River in the centre of St Petersburg, and at Kronstadt – where big surface vessels, which cannot enter the Neva River due to their size, can be viewed.

🕯 Today, Russia observes the Day of Remembrance for the Russian soldiers who died in World War I. On that day in 1914, Kaiser Germany declared war on the Russian Empire and invaded its territory. This is how our country entered into the biggest conflict in history, which reshaped the image of Europe and the rest of the world.

The Russian front sidetracked substantial enemy forces which allowed the allies to gain the strategic initiative. It is hard to overestimate the sacrificial feats of the Russian Army, and the courage and heroism of its soldiers and officers.

Through all of WWI, the Russian Empire mobilised 12 million people. Over 3 million of our compatriots died in action in 1914-1918. Many Russian cities have memorials to these fallen heroes including Moscow, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Lipetsk, Pskov and Rostov-on-Don and others.

⚠️Russian Federation's Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response continues to record numerous facts of criminal actions by Kiev regime against civilians, as well as the use of medical infrastructure for military purposes by Ukrainian armed formations:

🔹in Seversk, Donetsk People's Republic
, AFU have deployed artillery and MLRS on the territory of Zolotaya Rybka kindergarten (Molodezhnaya Street), from which they systematically shell Russian Armed Forces positions, provoking them to return fire;

🔹in Odessa, Ukrainian armed formations have deployed MANPADs on the roof of the Musical Comedy Theatre (Panteleymonovskaya Street) and heavy weapons and armoured vehicles on the adjacent territory of the Ecology University dormitory (L'vovska Street);

🔹in Cherkasy, Ukrainian nationalists have equipped firing positions for heavy artillery and MLRS in private households (Pushkin Street), while locals have not been evacuated.

▫️Such actions by criminal Ukrainian authorities demonstrate complete indifference to the fate of their own citizens and absolute disregard for all norms of morality and the principles of international humanitarian law.

⚠️ In Dnepropetrovsk Region, militants of Ukrainian armed formations have mined a railway bridge and a road bridge across the Volch'ya River between the settlements of Chernenkovo and Novoskelevatoe, which they plan to blow up and accuse units of the Russian Armed Forces and Donetsk People's Republic of allegedly indiscriminate strikes on transport infrastructure.

❗️We once again emphasize that during the special military operation, the Russian Armed Forces and military formations of Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics are not striking at civilian infrastructure facilities, are treating civilians extremely humanely and are providing civilians with comprehensive assistance and support.

Russian Foreign Ministry statement on US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan

Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, arrived in Taiwan on August 2.

We consider her visit a clear provocation in keeping with the US’s aggressive policy of comprehensive containment of the PRC.

We believe relations between both sides of the Taiwan Strait are exclusively China’s domestic affair. The Chinese side is entitled to take any measures necessary to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity in terms of the Taiwan issue.

🇷🇺 🤝 🇨🇳 Russia's principled position remains unchanged: we operate on the premise that there is only one China, and the PRC government is the only legitimate government representing all of China, and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China.

In the Joint Statement of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China on international relations entering a new era and on sustainable global development, which was adopted after the talks between the leaders of our countries on February 4, the Russian side reaffirmed its adherence to the “one China” principle and opposed the independence of the island in any form.

We call on Washington to refrain from actions, that undermine regional stability and international security, and to recognise the new geopolitical reality, which has no place for US hegemony.

❗️EMBASSY'S COMMENT

August 2, 2022

The new round of illegal and unjustifiable sanctions once again demonstrates Ottawa’s biased and thoughtless position on the Ukrainian crisis.

Canada’s government without any evidence is trying to blame the Russian side for the provocations and false flag operations clearly staged by the Kiev regime, such as Bucha. Moreover, Canadian authorities and media outlets deliberately put blind eye on the egregious crimes committed by the Ukrainian military which keeps on shelling the civilian areas of Donbass with Western heavy weapons and killing children at playgrounds with anti-personnel mines PFM-1 “Lepestok” prohibited by the Ottawa convention.

The Moscow-based Victory Museum presents an online multimedia exhibition "Auschwitz. The Truth."

This online project was created to preserve the permanent exhibition "Tragedy. Courage. Liberation", that, until recently, was on display at the "Auschwitz-Birkenau" Museum in Poland.

Its first sections are devoted to the tragedy of Soviet prisoners of war, prisoners of camps. The exhibition follows the chronological order, telling how the first PoWs entered the camp, how they were used by the Nazis as lab rats to test the deadly Cyclone B gas. There is a section on underground resistance. A large portion of the exhibition tells about the Red Army's liberation of this horrifying concentration camp - materials, photos, witness testimonies, memoirs and personal items.

* * *

Russia can be either strong or perish – the latest developments have proven in all clarity the accuracy of this axiomatic statement. Sanctions, military, media and political pressures and attempts to cut us from the global markets and deprive us of technology are effective only as long as we stay within a matrix shaped by those who are hostile to us. Russia’s policy to reinforce its national sovereignty in recent years has proven to be incompatible with its involvement in global processes on someone else’s terms or as a member of Western-centric structures such as the Group of Eight, which Russia left for good back in 2014. Injecting more sovereignty across the board, including in the world of ideas, politics, culture, research, economics, finance and other spheres while remaining open to broad mutually enriching equitable international cooperation can well place Russia on the path to steady development and secure the place it deserves in the multipolar world order. <...>

It is high time for Russia to go back to its roots and to realise that it forms a historical core of a civilisation with a unique identity and is, in fact, the largest Eurasian and Euro-Pacific power and one of the world’s most powerful geopolitical centres.

The special military operation creates ample opportunities for reclaiming this identity. Russians, Chechens, Avars, Tatars, Yakuts, Tuvans and members of other indigenous peoples are all fighting within a multi-ethnic and multi-faith Russian army against the troops of Kiev’s puppet regime, which has put its stakes on a retrograde policy of radical nationalism and an unconditional and humiliating subordination to its foreign masters. Cossacks and Chechens had been adversaries for a long time, but now they worked together to liberate Lisichansk and call each other comrades in arms. A Chechen commander received a Cossack military award. This is something that deserves some thought. It emerges that efforts to promote an interethnic unity and traditional values generate creative energies, while relying on a falsified vision of history and illusions about the future is unnatural, paving the way to domestic instability and aggression against dissenters.

Of course, going back to one’s roots would be impossible without mobilising the state and society on the ideological front. This is another essential prerequisite for an effective foreign policy as we move away from our dependency on the West in all its forms and manifestations. Prominent Russian researchers have been making this point as they presaged many of the issues that emerged at the current historical stage. Ivan Solonevich wrote back in 1951 that the unique nature of the Russian civilisation can be defined as a “singular national state and cultural whole that is clearly distinct from both Europe and Asia.” In 1993, Vadim Tsymbursky referred to Russia as a “special ethnic and civilisational platform.” Alexander Zinoviev wrote in 2003 that Europe was the Western tip of the Eurasian continent saying: “The prosperous West that Russia is dreaming of is but a small island in the ocean of filth and suffering.”

History has chosen Russia as a force poised to accelerate the transition to a new world order through its persistence and steady resolve to achieve truth and justice for all. Not only Russia’s foreign policy positions but the stability of the entire system of international relations hinge on our ability to play a unifying role and create a cross-civilisational network of priority partners within the next decade.

🎙 Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov’s interview with Rossiya Segodnya on the third session of the Open-ended Working Group (OEWG) on security of and in the use of information and communications technologies 2021-2025

Read in full

💬 We insisted on including Russia’s proposal to create a list of contact points for all UN member states in the OEWG report in order to establish feedback between the action agencies, to exchange information about computer incidents, and to overcome differences.

❗️One of the alarming stories is the Western countries’ plan to impose on everyone the reporting mechanisms for compliance with the norms of responsible state behaviour in cyberspace, which have not been agreed upon by the international community. The idea appears to be good, but clearly premature, because these rules are voluntary and non-binding.

⚡️ The Russian Ministry of Defence continues to analyse the military and biological activities of the US and its allies in Ukraine and elsewhere in the world in the light of new information obtained in the liberated territories.

READ IN FULL

Key points

☣️ Work continues on the study of biological samples from Ukrainian soldiers who have voluntarily laid down their arms.

Particular attention should be paid to the discovery of narcotic drugs, including opioids such as methadone, codepsin, codeterp, as well as ephedrine-type substances: t-phedrine and tri-phedrine, at positions abandoned by Ukrainian military personnel.

A side effect of such addictive drugs is primarily excessive aggression, which explains the extreme cruelty towards civilians displayed by some Ukrainian servicemen, as well as the shelling of towns in Donbass.

☣️ A few weeks ago, during the special military operation, Rubezhnoye in Lugansk People's Republic was liberated. Documents have been found in the laboratory of the Pharmbiotest medical centre, confirming that research had been carried out in Ukraine for several years on behalf of the so-called Big Pharma.

☣️ We are considering the possibility that the US Agency for International Development (USAID) was involved in the emergence of the new coronavirus. Since 2009, the agency has funded the Predict programme, which has investigated new species of coronaviruses by capturing bats that carry the viruses. One of the contractors for the project was Metabiota, a company known for its military-biological activities in Ukraine.

❗️ We see a clear trend: infectious disease agents that reach the Pentagon's zone of interest are subsequently pandemic, with US pharmaceutical companies and their patrons, the leaders of the US Democratic Party, as the beneficiaries.

☣️ US impunity has contributed to the continued use of bioweapons technology by Washington in Latin America, including the assassination of undesirable politicians.

On July 18, 2022, the President of the Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, publicly declared the involvement of the United States in the assassination of former head of state Hugo Chávez.

According to information available to Venezuela, U.S. security services have been working since 2002 on possible ways to eliminate the Venezuelan leader, who has pursued an active anti-American policy. Numerous assassination attempts involving members of the US embassy in Caracas were uncovered and thwarted.

A causal link between the Venezuelan leader's death and the development of biological weapons is confirmed by forensic evidence and the testimony of Cuban doctors who treated Chavez about the atypical course of the disease and its resistance to the use of medicines.

⚡️On August 5, 2022, between 16.20 and 17.24, Ukrainian armed formations carried out three artillery strikes on the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and Energidar city. A total of twenty 152-mm shells were fired.

▫️The shelling was carried out by one of the units of the 45th AFU Artillery Brigade from firing positions near Marganets, on the opposite bank of the Kremenchuk reservoir controlled by the Ukrainian army.

▫️As a result of the shelling, Energodar city is partially without electricity and water supply, part of the equipment of power unit No. 3 is de-energized at the NPP, and the generating capacity of power unit No. 4 is reduced. In addition, hydrogen pipeline was damaged, resulting in a hydrogen flare ignition at the hydrogen plant. The fire was quickly extinguished by the emergency services.

▫️Fortunately, the Ukrainian shells did not hit the oil and fuel facility and the oxygen plant nearby, thus avoiding a larger fire and a possible radiation accident at Europe's largest nuclear power plant.

▫️What makes this provocation by the Kiev regime especially cynical is that it took place at the time of the United Nations-sponsored international conference in New York on the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

❗️We call on international organizations to condemn the criminal acts of the Zelensky regime in carrying out acts of nuclear terrorism.

▫️In the event of further provocations at the nuclear power plant, all responsibility for the disruption of its operation will lie squarely with the Kiev regime.
