⚪️закладывал основы подводного флота России – Эдуард Щенснович;
⚪️сражался до последнего вздоха и стал символом мужества – Магомет Гаджиев;
⚪️вёл за собой Северный флот к победам – Иван Колышкин;
⚪️топил вражеские корабли с хладнокровием мастера – Валентин Стариков;
⚪️совершил «атаку века», вошедшую во все учебники – Александр Маринеско;
⚪️первым достиг Северного полюса подо льдом – Лев Жильцов;

🌱 Today marks International Nowruz Day, a celebration that heralds the first day of spring and the renewal of nature.

#Nowruz (from Middle Persian “new day”) is one of the world’s oldest holidays. Its roots trace back to ancient Persia, where it symbolised the start of a new life cycle, the triumph of light over darkness, and the renewal of nature. The holiday gained particular significance during the rule of the Achaemenid Dynasty in the 5th -4th centuries BCE.

🌏 For more than 3,000 years now, Nowruz has remained an important part of cultural traditions of many peoples. Today, it is celebrated by over 300 million people across Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, the Balkans, and beyond. In many countries, including Azerbaijan, Albania, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, it is recognised as a national holiday.

In 2009, UNESCO included Nowruz on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and March 21 was officially declared International Nowruz Day.

Nowruz is not only a spring festival but also a time to cherish peace, mutual respect, and care for the loved ones. It brings together people of different cultures, religions, and ethnicities, reminding us of the importance of renewal not only in nature, but also in our thoughts, deeds, and relationships with others.

🎉 We wish everyone celebrating this bright holiday a joyful spring. May it bring renewal, happiness, success, and prosperity.

✉️ President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russia’s Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the Holy Month of #Ramadan (March 20, 2026):

✍️ For centuries, this holiday has symbolized believers’ striving for moral growth, compassion and mercy, guiding them towards the enduring values of Islam.

I would like to note that Russia’s Muslims show deep respect for the historical and spiritual traditions of their ancestors and widely celebrate this holiday within their communities and families. It has become a fine tradition to hold large-scale charitable, cultural, educational and children’s events throughout the Holy Month.

Muslim organisations make a meaningful contribution to strengthening the institution of the family, raising the younger generation, and fostering constructive dialogue with state and public institutions, while consistently advancing patriotic, educational and humanitarian initiatives.

And, of course, special words of gratitude go to the followers of Islam who, shoulder to shoulder with their comrades-in-arms, are fighting for the freedom and independence of the Fatherland, who support the families and loved ones of our heroes.

I wish you sound health, success and all the very best.

⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry statement on developments in the Persian Gulf

Moscow is seriously concerned over the ongoing armed confrontation in the Persian Gulf and the risks of escalation.

The scale of damage to energy and other critical infrastructure in Iran and neighboring Arab states continues to grow.

🔉 Audio statement by Maria Zakharova (in Russian)

We call for an immediate cessation of hostilities resulting from the unprovoked aggression by the US and Israel against Iran.

Russia, together with China, Türkiye and other like-minded partners, stands ready to facilitate a settlement and help resolve existing differences through political and diplomatic means, with a view to achieving long-term, sustainable stabilisation in the region, taking into account the interests of all states concerned.

We consistently advocate creating conditions for peaceful coexistence, security and good-neighbourly relations between the Arab countries, with which we maintain friendly ties, and Iran.

❗️ We emphasise that the first step must be an immediate end to the US and Israel’s military venture.

In this context, we note the thoughtful and balanced article by Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, published in The Economist on March 18, 2026.

The proposals outlined in the article are largely in line with our own vision of establishing a security architecture in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf based on a balance of interests among all regional states. We share the Omani Minister’s view on the need to launch an inclusive regional dialogue aimed at reaching agreements on confidence-building and transparency measures in the field of nuclear energy, as well as mutual security guarantees.

👉 Russia has for several years been promoting an initiative to develop a concept of collective security in the Gulf, aimed at establishing lasting peace and cooperation among all littoral states.

We remain ready to continue providing constructive assistance in resolving the conflict and overcoming existing contradictions in the Middle East through political and diplomatic means, including by fostering conditions for joint efforts towards a sustainable settlement based on a balance of the legitimate interests of all countries in the region.

🎙 On March 19, an international teleconference was held on “War crimes of the AFU against civilians in the Belgorod Region”. Participation included Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik, who presented documented evidence of crimes committed by the Kiev regime.

Key points:

• Four years ago, the Kiev regime launched an ongoing campaign mass attacks targeting the Belgorod Region, aimed at maximizing civilian casualties, destroying civilian infrastructure, and creating intolerable living conditions for the population. In their view, this is an “acceptable means of influencing Russia’s domestic policy”.

• The situation escalated significantly in early autumn 2022, when civilians, fearing abuse and executions by Ukrainian militants, fled to Belgorod. Many who remained in territories occupied by Ukrainian units were subjected to torture and ill-treatment. Not all survived, and the locations of some burial sites remain unknown.

These incursions have no military rationale. They are focused on killing and injuring civilians, intimidating the population, and destroying civilian infrastructure.

❗️Over four years of hostilities, more than 3,850 civilians in the region have been affected, including 467 fatalities. Among them are 238 minors, 23 of whom were killed. In total, Ukrainian militants have fired over 116,000 munitions at civilian targets in the Belgorod Region, most of them produced by NATO countries.

• Ukrainian forces deliberately use drones against civilians, effectively declaring a hunt for ordinary residents. These are not incidental or unintended strikes – drone operators carry out targeted attacks on civilians, pursue civilian vehicles, and lie in wait near roads and crowded areas to strike defenceless people.

• About a year ago, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas claimed that “Russian civilians were not dying, that Russian women and children were not being killed”. Such statements amount to condoning and justifying inhumane crimes against civilians.

❗️
For Ms Kallas’s reference: as of this week, since February 2022, at least 27,500 civilians in Russia have been affected by the actions of Ukrainian militants, including more than 3,850 in the Belgorod Region alone.

🎙 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's statement regarding attacks by Ukrainian militants targeting the infrastructure of the TurkStream and Blue Stream gas pipelines (March 20, 2026)

💬 Between March 17-19, Ukrainian militants once again targeted critical international energy infrastructure facilitating gas exports via the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines.

According to Gazprom, attempted UAV strikes were recorded against three compressor stations. The largest number of drones – 22 units – targeted the Russkaya station, while three and one UAVs were used against the Kazachya and Beregovaya stations respectively.

Thanks to coordinated and effective actions by the Russian Ministry of Defence and mobile response units, all attacks were repelled, and no damage was sustained.

These reckless actions by Kiev are in line with its previous terrorist attacks on Russian and foreign tankers in the Mediterranean and Black Seas, as well as on the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium – a company with significant foreign investment.

Through such methods, the Zelensky regime seeks not only to undermine Russia’s position as a reliable supplier and transit country of energy resources, but also to keep the Ukrainian crisis in the international spotlight, particularly amid the rapidly evolving geopolitical landscape shaped by developments in the Middle East.

Such terrorist activity by Kiev may directly result in serious damage to regional energy security, potentially leading to further destabilisation of the global energy market.

At a time when leading Western countries acknowledge that stabilising the market without Russian energy resources is problematic, the Zelensky regime is openly acting against their interests, while attempting to influence the domestic political processes of its sponsors.

The fact that the attacks coincided with Zelensky’s meetings in London on March 17 with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer raises questions about their true beneficiaries, whose key objective appears to be obstructing a sustainable settlement of the Ukrainian crisis based on addressing its root causes, in line with the understandings reached during the Russia-US Summit in Alaska on August 15, 2025.

As President Vladimir Putin noted at a meeting of the board of the Federal Security Service of Russian on 24 February, the adversary is resorting to such terrorist attacks in conditions where it is unable to achieve its primary objective – to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield. The aim is evident – to derail the diplomatic settlement process, to “dismantle everything that has already been achieved on the negotiation track.”

☝️ For our part, we continue to work jointly with partners interested in the safe and reliable operation of international energy and logistics infrastructure ensuring supplies of Russian hydrocarbons.

It is essential to increase collective pressure on the Kiev regime to compel it to cease these reckless strikes that pose a threat to international energy routes.

🎙 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's comment regarding the missile strike on the port of Bandar-e Anzali (March 20, 2026)

💬 We are observing with growing concern the expanding geography of the missile and bomb strikes by Israel and the US in Iran.

The US-Israeli coalition continues to fan the flames of war in the Middle East that it has itself ignited, driving further escalation.

On March 18, a bomb attack was carried out against the Iranian port of Bandar Anzali on the Caspian Sea. That major Caspian port is an important trade and logistics hub that is actively used in Russian-Iranian trade, including for food deliveries.

❗️ The strike has affected the economic interests of Russia and the other Caspian states that maintain transport communications with Iran via that port.

The regional countries and the international community have always regarded the Caspian Sea as a safe zone of peace and cooperation. The aggressors’ reckless and irresponsible actions pose a threat of dragging Caspian states into an armed conflict.

☝️ We once again firmly call for the immediate cessation of hostilities and resuming efforts to achieve a political settlement of the situation in the Middle East, which is increasingly affecting neighbouring regions.

🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on India’s National Investigation Agency detaining Ukrainian and US citizens on charges of being implicated in terrorist activities (March 20, 2026)

💬 The Indian media report that six Ukrainian citizens and one US citizen were detained and taken into custody at international airports in New Delhi, Lucknow, and Kolkata by India’s National Investigation Agency on March 13.

Allegedly, these individuals have illegally crossed the border from the Indian state of Mizoram into Myanmar and established contacts with the local armed ethnic groups with the aim of supplying them with EU-manufactured drones, and training them in drone assembly and repair, and in conducting electronic warfare. The publications quoted the NIA as saying that these armed groups maintain ties with insurgents in northeastern India.

The reaction of the Ukrainian embassy in New Delhi was quite revealing as it sought to conceal the incident and to keep its citizens’ questionable activities, which were clearly designed to destabilise the situation in the region, under wraps.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry chose to remain silent on its citizens’ violation of India’s counter-terrorism legislation and wasted no time baselessly accusing “certain Indian and Russian news agencies” of deliberately falsifying the facts.

The incident clearly shows that Zelensky’s neo-Nazi regime has a core exporter of instability worldwide.

Russia has repeatedly issued warnings about the risks associated with the large-scale militarisation of Ukraine by NATO and the EU. Weapons supplied to it are inadequately accounted for and may surface anywhere.

Today, Kiev is a major supplier of weaponry and military technologies to the global black market, including military product supplies to Latin American drug cartels and training terrorists in Africa. As we can see, the Western-created Ukrainian tentacled network is reaching as far as regional conflicts in the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.

Just days ago, Zelensky brazenly boasted that several hundred Ukrainian fighters had been “deployed” to the Persian Gulf area to take part in the ongoing conflict as “instructors” and specialised “experts” in using unmanned aerial vehicles. Sure enough, enforcing international oversight over Ukraine’s military technology exports is out of the question.

All of that is the result of lax policies pursued by Western sponsors of Zelensky’s regime.

❗️ Today’s Ukraine is undermining regional and global security and stability and is an extremely destructive factor in international politics.

Once again, we urge the World Majority to take a good look at destabilising activities of the agonising Kiev regime which Western countries use as leverage against Russia and other countries around the world.

🗓 On March 20, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a traditional meeting with the ambassadors of #ASEAN member states accredited in Moscow.

In the context of the 35th anniversary of Russia-ASEAN relations that this year marks, the sides engaged in a substantive discussion on advancing #RussiaASEAN strategic partnership across a wide range of areas, including countering common challenges and threats, trade and investment, high-tech and knowledge-intensive industries, digitalisation, energy, and the expansion of business and youth contacts.

The main focus was on putting together anniversary events and agreeing upon a new medium-term policy document.

A thorough exchange of views on international and regional priorities reinforced the importance of Russia-ASEAN dialogue for building stable security and cooperation architecture in the Asia-Pacific region based on respect for international law, equality, and openness.

Prospects for aligning integration processes in Eurasia, strengthening ASEAN-EAEU and ASEAN-SCO cooperation, as well as establishing contacts on the ASEAN-BRICS track, were highlighted.

🤝 The meeting was held in a traditionally friendly atmosphere.
