Press release on threats to global food security and Ukrainian grain supplies to international markets

❗️We have noted the increasingly frequent statements by Western representatives, echoed by UN officials, on the threat of a major food crisis due to a shortage of grain and fertilisers on international markets, allegedly provoked by Russia's actions in Ukraine.

We feel compelled to once again reiterate what the real root causes of these problems are.

👉 As far as the blockage of Ukrainian grain shipments by sea is concerned, we emphasise that Russia has never hindered the export of grain from Ukrainian Black Sea ports. In reality, safe navigation in Ukrainian territorial waters and the use of ports are currently impossible due to the high level of danger posed by mines and threat of shelling created by Kiev.

👉 It would be worth recalling that since the beginning of 2020, food and energy prices have increased significantly driven by the coronavirus pandemic, adverse climate factors and, importantly, major miscalculations in Western countries’ financial and economic policies.

🇷🇺 In turn, we reaffirm our readiness to continue to fulfil our obligations to export grain, fertilisers, energy resources and other critical products.

On June 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in 14th BRICS Summit

China will chair the summit via videoconference.

The leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will discuss the status of diverse political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the five countries and their prospects.

There are also plans to review current international and regional issues. The summit’s final Declaration will formalise key agreements.

On June 24, Vladimir Putin will also speak at a ‘BRICS Plus’ session involving the leaders of several invited states.

⚠️ We continue to carefully record the facts of criminal acts by the Kiev regime against the civilian population of Ukraine and the people's republics of Donbas, as well as the use of civilian infrastructure by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and militants of Ukrainian nationalist groups for military purposes:

🔹 in Kramatorsk, Donetsk People's Republic, in a residential house (Parkovaya st., 95), servicemen of the AFU have deployed a strongpoint with munitions and armament depots, while its residents are forcibly retained in their flats. In the schools №4 (M.Priymachenko st.) and №25 (B.Khmelnitskogo st.), nationalists have deployed firing positions and sniper points, while the population of the nearby residential houses had been intentionally left without evacuation;

🔹 in Dachnoye, Odessa region, in the House of Culture and the gymnasium №2 (Mira st.), nationalists have deployed a strongpoint, as well as armoured vehicles and multiple rocket launchers at its territory;

🔹 in Lisichansk, Lugansk People's Republic, in a milk factory (Artyomovskoye hwy.), nationalists of Ukrainian armed groups have deployed barracks, firing positions and a munitions depot, as well as West-manufactured armoured vehicles and artillery cannons at the adjacent territory.

⚠️ In Avdeyevka, Donetsk People's Republic, professionals of the Centre for Information and Psychological Operations of the AFU have carried out another provocation aimed at accusing the Russian Armed Forces of an alleged destruction of civilian infrastructure facilities. For this purpose, nationalists exploded the building of the comprehensive school №6 (Shevchenko blvd.) and spread fabricated photo- and videographic data in Ukrainian and western mass media.

◽️ This kind of fakes is regularly replicated by the Ukrainian propaganda supported by the collective West.

🔹 Moreover, in Slavyansk, Kramatorsk district, militants of Ukrainian armed groups have planted mines at the roadside along Geroyev Truda street adjacent to M-03 motor way, while the local population has been intentionally left uninformed.

❗️ We warn the international community and international organisations in advance about this inhumane provocation prepared by the Ukrainian authorities that can result in victims among civilians, while the Kiev regime is going to accuse Russian servicemen of indiscriminate attacks as it has already been done according to a practiced method.

◽️ Forces of the 1st Baltic, 3rd, 2nd and 1st Belorussian fronts supported by Dnepr Flotilla liberated Belorussia, some parts of Lithuania and Latvia, reached Poland and East Prussian border. The German Nazi command redeployed a considerable part of its forces from the Western Front to Belorussia for confronting Soviet troops. It facilitated the offensive of the allied force in France.

💬 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has noted recent reports on US citizens being recruited and transferred to Ukraine, the Donetsk People's Republic and the Lugansk People's Republic to participate in hostilities, with the complicity of the White House and American intelligence services.

We are referring to the activity of the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, which runs counter to the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and involves overt recruitment of fighters to the so-called Foreign Legion of Territorial Defence Forces of Ukraine.

❗️ We regard the US authorities’ complicity in such activities as further proof of Washington not being interested in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.

⚠️It has been reliably elicited that professionals of the 72nd Centre for Information and Psychological Operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Kharkov are preparing another cynical provocation with deaths amongst civilian population to accuse the Russian Armed Forces of launching indiscriminate attacks against civilian facilities.

🔹militants from Kraken nationalist battalion and 113th Territorial Brigade bring medical staff and ill children from other medical facilities of Kharkov to the First Child Health Hospital (Klochkovskaya st.). At the same time, the building of the hospital is mined and neo-Nazis are planning to explode it as soon as Russian troops launch artillery attacks at the military facilities in Kharkov. Correspondents from leading Western news agencies have already arrived in the city to prepare fake photos and videos;

🔹 two reporters from CNN news channel escorted by 10 servicemen of Azov nationalist battalion have arrived in Odessa for recording prepared terrorist attacks on civilian facilities in order to accuse Russia of using prohibited methods of warfare. We warn the so-called civilised West in advance that the abovementioned and other provocations by the Ukrainian authorities about the 'atrocities of the Russians' are soon to be widely circulated through the Western media and in various resources of the Internet.

❗️ We reiterate that Russian Armed Forces provide comprehensive assistance and support to the civilian population, treat them with high humanity and do not launch any attacks at the civilian infrastructure facilities during the special military operation.
