The President congratulated young officers on their graduation.
“The effectiveness of our work to improve Russia’s defensive capacity directly depends on the officer corps, that is, on you and your colleagues. You will soon take charge of military units. I am sure that you will help your subordinates, brothers in arms to master the advanced military equipment and will be an example of honour and team spirit.”

💬 The ideology of violence and hatred stands at the core of present-day Ukrainian state policy. This ideology provoked atrocious crimes of the Kiev regime against its own people that became one of the key reasons of today’s crisis in Ukraine.
☝️ The United States and its Western allies were rather interested in this spread of Russophobia-based Ukrainian nationalism, because they perceived it as a good opportunity to sever historical ties of Russia and Ukraine, as prompted by their geopolitical considerations.
❗️ Despite ravaging primitive Russophobia and racism in Ukraine we hold nothing against the Ukrainian people, Ukrainian culture and language. The people of Ukraine is near and friendly to us. It is just that their leaders are pursuing a geopolitical agenda that is alien both to us and to Ukrainians.

On the 81st anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the President honoured the memory of those who perished in battles against Nazi invaders by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Wall

The President of Russia sent his greetings to the participants of the BRICS Business Forum
🔸The Forum plays a large practical role in promoting mutual trade and investment, strengthening cooperation ties and enhancing direct dialogue between business communities.
🔸In the first three months of this year, trade between Russia and the BRICS countries increased by 38 per cent to $45 billion.
🔸The Russian Financial Messaging System is open for connection with the BRICS countries banks. The Russian MIR payment system is expanding its presence. The possibility of creating an international reserve currency based on the basket of BRICS currencies is being explored.
🔸Russia is taking comprehensive measures aimed at mitigating the negative impact of sanctions and strengthening our trade and investment relations with all states concerned.
In conclusion, the President invited representatives of the BRICS states to the Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held in Vladivostok in early September.

⚔️ The heroic defence of the Brest Fortress began on June 22, 1941. Its garrison pinned down an entire Wehrmacht division for almost one month.
At the start of the Great Patriotic War, the fortress’ garrison comprised about 7,000 to 8,000 officers and soldiers from over 30 ethnic groups. The 45th German Infantry Division, with about 17,000 officers and soldiers, attacked the fortress. The German high command planned to seize the fortress in a few hours.
🕯 Surviving Soviet soldiers mostly conducted acts of sabotage and resisted until late July or even early August 1941. Most of the fortress’ defenders were killed in action, and some of them linked up with the partisans or reached the front line.
Today, the citadel remains a monument highlighting the indomitable willpower of those who were the first to engage Nazi invaders.

Press release on threats to global food security and Ukrainian grain supplies to international markets
❗️We have noted the increasingly frequent statements by Western representatives, echoed by UN officials, on the threat of a major food crisis due to a shortage of grain and fertilisers on international markets, allegedly provoked by Russia's actions in Ukraine.
We feel compelled to once again reiterate what the real root causes of these problems are.
👉 As far as the blockage of Ukrainian grain shipments by sea is concerned, we emphasise that Russia has never hindered the export of grain from Ukrainian Black Sea ports. In reality, safe navigation in Ukrainian territorial waters and the use of ports are currently impossible due to the high level of danger posed by mines and threat of shelling created by Kiev.
👉 It would be worth recalling that since the beginning of 2020, food and energy prices have increased significantly driven by the coronavirus pandemic, adverse climate factors and, importantly, major miscalculations in Western countries’ financial and economic policies.
🇷🇺 In turn, we reaffirm our readiness to continue to fulfil our obligations to export grain, fertilisers, energy resources and other critical products.

On June 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in 14th BRICS Summit
China will chair the summit via videoconference.
The leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will discuss the status of diverse political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the five countries and their prospects.
There are also plans to review current international and regional issues. The summit’s final Declaration will formalise key agreements.
On June 24, Vladimir Putin will also speak at a ‘BRICS Plus’ session involving the leaders of several invited states.

⚠️ We continue to carefully record the facts of criminal acts by the Kiev regime against the civilian population of Ukraine and the people's republics of Donbas, as well as the use of civilian infrastructure by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and militants of Ukrainian nationalist groups for military purposes:
🔹 in Kramatorsk, Donetsk People's Republic, in a residential house (Parkovaya st., 95), servicemen of the AFU have deployed a strongpoint with munitions and armament depots, while its residents are forcibly retained in their flats. In the schools №4 (M.Priymachenko st.) and №25 (B.Khmelnitskogo st.), nationalists have deployed firing positions and sniper points, while the population of the nearby residential houses had been intentionally left without evacuation;
🔹 in Dachnoye, Odessa region, in the House of Culture and the gymnasium №2 (Mira st.), nationalists have deployed a strongpoint, as well as armoured vehicles and multiple rocket launchers at its territory;
🔹 in Lisichansk, Lugansk People's Republic, in a milk factory (Artyomovskoye hwy.), nationalists of Ukrainian armed groups have deployed barracks, firing positions and a munitions depot, as well as West-manufactured armoured vehicles and artillery cannons at the adjacent territory.
