✈️ The participation of the Russian Knights and Strizhi aerobatic teams in Victory Day parades has become a longstanding tradition.
Year after year, the pilots flawlessly execute mind-boggling maneuvers , while flying in precise formation over Red Square, making proud our flying aces of the past, best Soviet pilots in #WWII.
🇷🇺 Their flyovers, highlighted by the smoke trails in the colours of the Russian flag, are a signature part of the parade.

“Remembering Heroism and Learning from History: The Enduring Lessons of Victory in the Great Patriotic War”
(May 9, 2025)
📍The Victory in the Great Patriotic War is not merely one of many military triumphs in Russia’s storied history. It is a symbol of the unbreakable will of the peoples of the Soviet Union—a feat of millions who, through sacrifice and valor, defended humanity from the horror of Nazism.
📍The Great Victory is not only a matter of historical legacy, but also a moral compass. It teaches us to distinguish between good and evil, to call things by their proper names, and to reject political opportunism.
📍Eighty years on, the question of historical truth remains as relevant as ever. Attempts to revise the outcome of the Second World War, rehabilitate collaborators, or distort the role of the Russian people and the peoples of the Soviet Union in defeating Nazism must be firmly opposed. Only an honest, impartial appraisal of the past can serve as a foundation for genuine international understanding and peace.

🕯Церемония прошла в рамках празднования 80-летия Победы и стала актом памяти и признательности всем, кто отдал жизнь в борьбе с нацизмом. Участники почтили подвиг павших минутой молчания и возложили цветы к памятнику на территории Посольства.
🌍 В память об общем историческом наследии в церемонии приняли участие Посол Армении в Канаде А.Р.Арутюнян, Посол Казахстана Д.К.Кусаинов, Посол Китайской Народной Республики Ван Ди, а также Временный Поверенный в делах Азербайджана В.Абуталибов.

📆 On May 9, 2025, the Embassy of Russia in Canada held a solemn floral tribute ceremony at the monument to the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
🕯Held as part of the 80th anniversary of Victory, the ceremony honored the memory of all those who fell in the fight against Nazism. Participants observed a moment of silence and laid flowers at the memorial located on the Embassy grounds.
🌍 The event was joined by Ambassador of Armenia Anahit Harutyunyan, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Dauletbek Kussainov, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Wang Di, and Chargé d’Affaires of Azerbaijan Vasif Abutalibov.

☦️ 9 мая в Посольстве России в Оттаве состоялся благодарственный молебен Господу Богу за дарование Победы в Великой Отечественной войне и заупокойное поминовение павших воинов.
🕯В этот день в стенах дипмиссии прозвучала молитва благодарности Господу за дарованную Победу и была отслужена заупокойная служба в память о павших воинах. Молились за тех, кто отдал свою жизнь ради мира и будущего грядущих поколений.

🕯A prayer of gratitude was offered to the God for the Victory, followed by a memorial service in remembrance of the fallen soldiers. We prayed for those who gave their lives for peace and the future of generations to come.

💬 In his remarks, Ambassador Oleg Stepanov highlighted the symbolic significance of the date:
Victory Day is the unifying foundation of our society. And equally it serves and must continue to serve the global community. For through the Great Victory, the Organization of the United Nations and its Charter were created, having formed the undisputed basis for the modern world order and establishing a system of international law and relations.
Russia, as the heir to the glorious deeds of the Red Army, will continue to stand guard over truth and justice, protect history from distortion. Our duty is to prevent Nazism and militarism from being revived, and we will continue to fulfill this task.
🎼 Guests enjoyed a brief concert and a buffet of traditional Russian dishes.
