◼️ May 2 marks eight years since the tragedy in Odessa. On this day in 2014, Ukraine’s Nazi thugs massacred those who had stood up against the Maidan coup d'etat, Kiev’s new policies, and unhinged nationalistic aggression. People were corralled into Odessa's House of Trade Unions and burned alive. Others were finished off as they tried to escape.

🕯 Forty-eight people were burned alive, died from carbon monoxide poisoning, or fell to their death from the upper floors of the House of Trade Unions, which was set on fire by the nationalists.

🔹 This barbaric act of egregious cynicism and brutality sent shockwaves around the world. Yet the “civilised” West kept silent in an uncivilised manner. Perpetrators roam freely. Moreover, Ukraine’s law enforcement persecuted those who managed to survive (!) what the fascist thugs had done.

❗️The Russian Federation's Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response continues to record numerous cases of nationalists using civilian infrastructure for military purposes, as well as using civilians as "human shield":

🔹in Barvenkovo, Kharkov Region, nationalists have equipped a stronghold in the building of the Regional Psychiatric Hospital No 2 and forcibly detain civilians in the basement;

🔹in Dnepr (schools No. 2 and 28 and boarding school No. 2), Nikolaev (boarding school for deaf children), Kramatorsk (schools No. 9 and 6) and Slavyansk (school No. 14), the Ukrainian Armed Forces and fighters of the territorial defence battalions have equipped firing positions and deployed armoured vehicles, artillery and MLRS.

▫️This fact is clear evidence of the continuing inhumane attitude of the Kiev authorities towards their own people.

🇷🇺🇫🇷📞 President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.

The Russian President informed his French counterpart about the progress of the special military operation to protect the Donbass republics, including the liberation of Mariupol and the evacuation of the civilians retained by nationalists at the Azovstal plant, with the evacuation proceeding as agreed during the April 26 meeting between Vladimir Putin and #UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

During the conversation, it was noted that the #EU member countries ignore the crimes committed by the Ukrainian forces, and massive shelling of cities and communities in the Donbass region resulting in civilian casualties. The West could help stop these atrocities by influencing the Kiev government, as well as stopping arms deliveries to Ukraine, Vladimir Putin pointed out.

The two Presidents agreed to maintain contacts at various levels.

🔹The two leaders discussed some bilateral issues and the further strengthening of the Union State in follow-up to the Russian-Belarusian talks held at the highest level on April 12.

🔹They considered some aspects of bilateral cooperation within the framework of Eurasian integration associations, including in the context of preparations for the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation member states.

🔹The presidents also discussed the situation in the context of the ongoing special military operation in Donbass.

🔹They reaffirmed their mutual resolve to further strengthen Russian-Belarusian relations of partnership and alliance.

⚡️Statement of the Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response

▫️Following the decision of the leadership of the Russian Federation and based on humane principles, from 08:00 to 18:00 (Moscow time) on May 5, 6 and 7, 2022, the Russian Armed Forces will open a humanitarian corridor from the territory of Azovstal Iron and Steel Works to evacuate civilians (workers, women and children), about whose presence in the underground structures of the Works the Kiev authorities have once again claimed.

▫️During this period, the Russian Armed Forces and formations of the Donetsk People's Republic unilaterally cease any hostilities, units are withdrawn to a safe distance and ensure the withdrawal of civilians in any direction they choose, both to Russian Federation territory and to areas under the control of the Kiev authorities.

⚡Ukrainian Armed Forces units continue to use medical facilities for military purposes, as well as use civilians as "human shield":

🔹in Kharkov, artillery and ammunition storage facilities have been located on the territory of city hospital No 8, and the hospital staff and all civilians, including the seriously ill, have been forced to leave the medical facility under threat of reprisals;

🔹in Slavyansk, heavy military equipment has been placed on the territory of the railway hospital on Malogorodetskaya Street and a stronghold with an ammunition depot has been equipped in the building;

🔹in Odessa, AFU command post has been set up in the building of the regional clinical hospital on Akademika Zabolotnyi Street, while armoured vehicles, artillery and MLRS are located in the adjoining territory;

🔹in Lisichansk, a stronghold of nationalist battalion fighters has been deployed on the territory of a child health centre.

▫️These and other similar facts, despite our repeated statements, have to date been ignored by the World Health Organisation.

❗Once again, we call on all international organisations, especially the World Health Organisation, to influence official Kiev and take effective measures to prevent the use of medical infrastructure for military purposes.

🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria #Zakharova on the United States preventing the Russian government delegation from attending the 21st session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York

💬 The US authorities have again prevented Russian representatives from attending an event held under the UN aegis.

The United States has refused to issue US entry visas to Russian delegation head and Head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov, a Russian Foreign Ministry official, and a number of representatives of small indigenous peoples of the North of the Russian Federation, who had planned to travel to New York on April 24 to attend the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

The Foreign Ministry regards these actions as part of a consistent US policy that constitutes a serious breach of the US commitments under the Agreement between the United Nations and the United States of America regarding the Headquarters of the United Nations of October 31, 1947. The obvious aim of this move is to escalate the confrontation with Russia at all costs by blocking any possibility of full-scale Russian representation and work at the UN venue.

This aggressive attitude will certainly receive a response.

Why is the Great Patriotic War such a big deal to the Russians?

Over 26 million people of the Soviet Union, 18 million of whom were civilians, - the ultimate sacrifice and the “toll” of Victory.

It’s no exaggeration - every family in the post-Soviet countries has relatives or loved ones who served, died, worked on the home front, or was affected by the scariest of wars.

Thus, whenever their sacred memory is desecrated and the Nazis glorified - it’s personal.

Some countries may have a short historical memory. In Russia, we sure don’t.

🇷🇺On May 6, 2022, at the initiative of the Russian leadership, an operation was conducted to evacuate civilians held by Ukrainian nationalists at Azovstal Iron and Steel Works.

▫️50 civilians, including 11 children, were rescued.

🚌All rescued civilians were handed over to representatives of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross for delivery to to selected temporary accommodation facilities.

▫️The humanitarian operation at Azovstal will continue on May 7, 2022.

⚡️According to reliable information, the Ukrainian Security Service is planning provocations using chemical weapons in the settlements of Vysokopolie, Ivanovka, Knyazevka and Topolnoe in Kherson region, as well as in Apostolovo in Dnepropetrovsk region by 24:00 on May 6, 2022 to further accuse the Russian Armed Forces.

▫️Moreover, while previously in preparation for such provocations the civilian population was withdrawn from the area of planned contamination, now, in order to maximise the resonance, no warning was given to the population.

❗️We warn the "civilized West" as well as the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in advance that the above and other similar provocations about alleged "Russian atrocities" are soon to be widely spread by the Ukrainian authorities through the Western media and in various Internet resources.

⚡️It has been reliably established that Ukrainian army units and nationalist battalions are setting up powerful fortifications in large enterprises, including the chemical industry, at the orders of their US and UK handlers.

▫️For example, the militants have placed heavy weapons on the territory of the Azot company in Severodonetsk, Lugansk People's Republic, and are holding more than a 1,000 factory workers and local residents in underground facilities as "human shield".

▫️At the same time, the nationalists have been systematically firing MLRSs in Pervomaisk, Stakhanov and Kalinovo, thus provoking the Russian Armed Forces to retaliate in order to further accuse the Russian military of killing civilians and causing a man-made disaster in the republic.

⚠️The neo-Nazis also booby-trapped tanks containing chemicals (ammonia, ammonium nitrate, nitric acid) for immediate detonation in case they were forced to abandon their positions.

⚠️The implementation of this cynical crime will lead to the chemical contamination of air, terrain and water sources. At the same time, there is a particular danger of highly toxic substances entering the Seversky Donets River, which is the main waterway and source of drinking water for eastern Ukraine and the Donbass republics.

❗️The commission of similar inhuman provocations by militants of nationalist battalions, according to testimonies of captured AFU soldiers, is also planned at other facilities within the boundaries of the so-called "triangle of chemical industry" (Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and Rubezhnoe; total area - 338 sq km, population - about 300,000 people), where more than 30 chemical companies are concentrated, the largest being Ukrkhimenergo, Severodonetsk-based ORGHIM, Energohimmash, Zarya, LLC, Severodonetsk Chemical and Metallurgical Plant, Severodonetsk Novofert Liquid Chemical Fertiliser Plant, Yuzhny Chemical Plant, and Benzol Chemical Company.

⚡️Today in Kharkiv Region, nationalists in Tsirkuny gathered local residents under the threat of physical violence and transported them to the southern outskirts of Borshchevaya, where the militants, shielding themselves with "human shield", were moving towards the frontline towards the Russian military units, provoking them to open fire on civilians.

▫️As a result of the spot fire, the Ukrainian nationalists were defeated: some of the personnel were eliminated and the rest scattered. However, no civilians were harmed.

❗️Such actions by militants completely replicate Nazi tactics during the Great Patriotic War and once again demonstrate the inhumane attitude of the Kiev regime towards its own people and its complete disregard for all norms of morality and international humanitarian law.

📆 May 7, 1944, marks the end of the assault of Mount Sapun, one of the most dramatic episodes in the Crimean Offensive. During the assault, Lieutenant Mikhail #Dzigunsky sacrificed his life by blocking a Nazi machine gun pillbox with his body to save the rest of his platoon. Dzigunsky’s feat is captured in the “Assault of Mount Sapun” diorama in Sevastopol.

According to Mikhail Dzigunsky’s award list, “…the hero crawled to the enemy’s lair and bravely attacked the machinegun post, covering the pillbox’s firing point with his body. The machinegun stalled. In an instant, our infantry, inspired by Dzigunsky’s feat, rushed forward and broke through the Nazi resistance. The height was taken.”

🎖For his outstanding feat, the 22-year-old brave commander was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
