🎙 President of Russia Vladimir Putin's remarks at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meetings (restricted and expanded-formats)
Key points:
• We are expected to approve a declaration, drafted on the Russian side’s initiative, on the further development of economic processes within our association for the period to 2030 and further to 2045.
🇮🇷 In the run-up to our meeting, a free trade agreement between the EAEU and Iran was signed. Once the agreement comes into force, practically all categories of goods produced in the Union will obtain duty-free access to the extensive Iranian market with 90 million consumers, and non-tariff barriers will be significantly reduced.
📈 The Eurasian Union will soon be 10 years old. Over this period, the scale of trade has almost doubled and the aggregate GDP of the EAEU countries has grown from $1.6 trillion to $2.5 trillion US dollars.
• In Russia, GDP added three percent in the first three quarters and we expect it to reach 3.5 percent for the annual results. Other EAEU countries have also recorded a substantial increase in GDP.
🇪🇬🇦🇪🇮🇩 Work on a draft free trade agreement with Egypt is at a very advanced stage. Apart from that, the Eurasian Commission is negotiating with the UAE and Indonesia.
• Overall, as the EAEU’s authority and economic weight grows, an increasing number of countries and international organisations are showing interest in establishing mutually beneficial contacts with the EAEU.
🇨🇳 The work on aligning integration processes within the EAEU and China's Belt and Road Initiative is also yielding real results.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s address at a meeting of the United Russia Party General Council Commission on International Cooperation and Support for Compatriots Abroad (Moscow, December 26, 2023)
💬 In just five days, the New Year will arrive. At the same time, Russian Federation begins its chairmanship of #BRICS.
The world is becoming increasingly diverse, with more independent players. However, this also makes it more complex.
A prominent example of this is the interaction within BRICS. Over the years, this association has been a platform for efficient cooperation among states that represent various religions, world regions and – without exaggeration – even civilisations.
🌐 BRICS represents a cooperation network that operates in addition to the traditional North-South and West-East lines.
With the addition of new members <...> BRICS activities will undoubtedly become more comprehensive, and the process of reaching agreements will become more time-consuming.
Along with the countries that have already joined its ranks, about 30 states are currently seeking to establish partnerships with the association.
🤝 We will continue to work towards ensuring BRICS’ greater role as a pillar of the multipolar world, which will be built upon enhanced regional foundations, particularly in the countries that belong to the global majority.
❗️ Our BRICS chairmanship will take place under the theme “Strengthening multilateralism for the purposes of fair global development and security.” Our chairmanship will culminate in the BRICS summit, to be held in Kazan in October 2024.
We are considering a proposal by the United Russia party to hold a forum of BRICS political parties in Vladivostok next July.
☝️It is helpful to use the potential of party diplomacy in the future to draw the attention of the public at large and especially young people in the BRICS countries to the forthcoming international humanitarian and sports events.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 Russia's President Vladimir Putin met with Minister of External Affairs of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at the Kremlin.
💬 Vladimir Putin: Our trade is growing for the second year running and at a confident pace. This year, the growth rates were even higher than last year. <...> It is common knowledge that this is primarily energy resources – oil, oil products and coal, but it’s not just that. We are working together in high-tech areas.
We are very pleased to note that despite the current turbulences in the world, relations with our traditional friends in Asia, with India and the Indian people are making steady headway.
We know the position of Prime Minister Modi and have talked about this more than once. I am referring to his position, his attitude to complicated processes, including hot spots, the situation in Ukraine. I have repeatedly informed him about the situation around this conflict. I know about his striving to resolve this problem through peaceful means. <...>
We will be happy to see our friend, Prime Minister Modi in Russia. We will have an opportunity to discuss the current issues and talk about the prospects for developing #RussiaIndia relations. We have to cover a lot of ground. <...>
I realise that next year, India’s domestic political calendar is not simple. It is complicated considering that India will hold general elections to parliament.
🤝 We wish success to our friends in India. We believe we will maintain our traditional friendly ties in any alignment of political forces.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions during a joint press conference with India's Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar (Moscow, December 27, 2023)
💬 The trust-based nature of #RussiaIndia relations is rooted in mutual respect and immune to momentary fluctuations. These contacts fully reflect the very nature of our cooperation within our special privileged strategic partnership, as set forth in the documents signed by the leaders of Russia and India.
✅ We agreed on several steps which are expected to enable us to expand our cooperation, including as we prepare to launch the International North-South Transport Corridor, create the Chennai-Vladivostok route and work together to develop the Northern Sea Route, which is a promising avenue for cooperation.
We discussed prospects for military-technical cooperation, including joint production of modern weapons. We made progress in this area as well. Our interaction is strategic in this respect. Strengthening this cooperation meets the national interests of our states and helps maintain security in Eurasia.
We confirmed our desire to intensify cooperation in energy. This is also a strategic area in our cooperation. I am referring to the buildup of hydrocarbon exports from Russia to India, and interaction in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, primarily, the continuing implementation of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant project.
🤝 We are sincerely grateful to our Indian colleagues for their striving to adopt a responsible approach to discussing and resolving regional and global problems in line with the principles of equitable and fair international cooperation. This approach is typical of India’s position on the developments in Ukraine and around it.

💬 What do a racist, a colonialist and a Western neoliberal have in common?
I'll tell you using examples from the Anglo-Saxon world.
Here's Joe Biden speaking from the podium about the importance of engaging with the indigenous peoples of the US, Native Americans.
Only Indians in the US still live on reservations, and some communities, about half of them, don't even have their own reservations: of 574 tribes, only 326 live on reservations. The rest continue to fight for their rights, but, of course, to no avail. Biden himself recognises this, “Indigenous communities still live in the shadows of the failed policies of the past.” He stated this at the recent Tribal Nations Summit. However, discrimination against Native Americans continues within the reservations as well and tribal people get lower wages, are not hired for government jobs, and crime is on the rise.
Now, with regard to Australia, the unthinkable is happening there in this department: the authorities continue to take children away from the Aborigines even in the 21st century. This absolutely genocidal practice – where children are taken away not only from their families, but also from their traditional culture – has become an everyday occurrence in Anglo-Saxon Australia. The issue is about targeted and purposeful destruction of the mechanism for passing along cultural heritage from generation to generation. Local residents are suing the authorities, because their children have been kidnapped, but most likely the lawsuit is a non-starter. The judges will not assume this kind of responsibility with the potential political implications. Both the International Criminal Court (ICC), which is only paying lip service to children's issues, and London, with whose consent all this is happening, remain silent and approve of such practices.
Let’s spend a moment discussing Canada, a country that is notorious for its closed boarding schools for indigenous children. There is a spike in ultra-violence against representatives of non-titular ethnicities. And it's not just Native Americans and Jews, the number of attacks against whom has increased significantly since the flare-up in the Middle East.
They had better address their own deep-running issues before telling others what to do.

⚡️ Foreign Ministry statement on yet another brutal attack on Russian civilians by the Kiev regime
❗️ The Kiev regime has once again revealed its inhuman Nazi essence by committing another cynical and horrific crime – an attack on residential areas in Belgorod using multiple launch rocket systems.
The premeditated and meticulously prepared shelling attack on the city centre resulted in the deaths of at least 14 people, including two children, and injured 100 civilians, 17 of whom were minors.
‼️ British and American consultants were directly involved in organising this terrorist attack, regularly inciting the Ukrainian authorities to commit brutal crimes. The countries of the European Union, which persistently and irresponsibly continue to supply the Ukrainian ruling clique with weapons, are also responsible for this.
It should be emphasised that the strike deliberately targeted places where civilians gather, particularly families with children. The enemy attacked pre-holiday attractions in downtown Belgorod, including the New Year's snow town, the Christmas tree and the ice rink, which were popular among the residents. The Ukrainian criminals used cluster munitions to maximise the number of victims in their terrorist attack.
The shelling of communities in Donbass, the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, Crimea, and other Russian regions, as well as the ruthless and indiscriminate killing of civilians, serve as evidence of the agony of Zelensky's neo-Nazi regime, which is immersed in terrorism, lawlessness, corruption, and cynicism. In their impotent rage, they seek to please their Western bosses by killing as many Russian people as possible.
☝️ All those responsible for orchestrating and carrying out this and other crimes by the Kiev junta will face inevitable punishment in accordance with the law.
The UN Security Council will also investigate the terrorist attack in Belgorod, specifically the use of cluster munitions, which are banned in most countries, by Ukrainian terrorists to target civilians, as well as the sources of these deadly weapons.
We urge all responsible governments and relevant international organisations to strongly condemn this brutal act of terrorism and publicly distance themselves from the Kiev regime and its Western handlers who commit such crimes.
⚠️ Silence in response to the unrestrained brutality displayed by Ukrainian Nazis and their puppeteers, as well as their accomplices from "civilised democracies," will be seen as aiding and abetting their heinous acts.

🎙 New Year Address to the Nation by President Vladimir Putin
💬 We are bidding farewell to 2023.
The main thing which has united us is the destiny of the Motherland. There is a deep understanding of the utmost importance of the historic period which Russia is going through, those large-scale objectives which society is facing and the colossal responsibility for the Motherland which every one of us feels.
Work for the collective good has united society. We are united in our thoughts, tasks and in combat, whether at work or on days off, displaying the main traits of the Russian people – solidarity, mercy and firmness.
I would like to address our military personnel – everyone who is on duty, who is on the front lines fighting for truth and justice. You are our heroes. Our hearts are with you. We are proud of you and we admire your courage.
I am well aware that now you feel the love of those nearest and dearest to you, the powerful, sincere support of millions of Russian citizens, the support of the entire people.
We have proved over and over again that we are able to tackle the most difficult tasks and we will never back down as there is no force that can divide us, make us forget the memory and the faith of our fathers, or stop our development.
The upcoming year of 2024 has been declared the Year of the Family in our country. And a truly big family is definitely a family where children grow up, where parents are given attention, and treated with warm-heartedness and care, and where everyone loves and respects each other.
I would like to convey my very best wishes for the new year to all Russian families. After all, the history of our huge, wonderful and beloved Motherland is shaped by the history of each family. We – the multinational people of Russia – decide and create its fate.
We are one country, one big family. We will ensure the steady development of the Motherland, the well-being of our citizens, and we will become even stronger.
Happy New Year, friends! Happy 2024!

🎙 Address by Russia's President Vladimir Putin on the start of Russia's BRICS Chairmanship
💬 On January 1, Russia was passed the baton of the #BRICS chairmanship, an association which, according to the decision adopted by the 15th BRICS Summit in August 2022, now includes 10 countries.
Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates joined BRICS as new full members which is a strong indication of the growing authority of the association and its role in international affairs.
BRICS is attracting an ever increasing number of supporters and like-minded countries that share its underlying principles, namely, sovereign equality, respect for the chosen path of development, mutual consideration of interests, openness, consensus, the aspiration to form a multipolar international order and a fair global financial and trade system, and pursuit of collective solutions to top challenges of our time.

🔸 We will spare no effort to <...> facilitate the harmonious integration of new participants in all formats of its activities.
🔸 We will start working on the modalities of a new category of BRICS partner country.

An meaningful part of Russia’s chairmanship will be a support for measures to counter the falsification of history and attempts to rehabilitate Nazism, and to preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War, including the genocide of the Soviet peoples.
In this context, special attention will be paid to preparations for holding the Year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in the CIS in 2025 – the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism.

⚡️ Foreign Ministry statement on the Kiev regime’s latest terrorist attack on the Russian city of Donetsk
❌ Armed formations of Ukrainian neo-Nazis, with support of the Western countries, continue to carry out terrorist attacks against Russian civilians. It is clear that they have nothing human in them. Neither the New Year nor the Christmas holidays stop them.
On New Year’s Eve, the city centre and other residential areas of Donetsk, including civilian infrastructure, were subjected to a massive attack from multiple launch rocket systems. It is already known that there are four dead and more than fourteen injured. According to preliminary reports, the victim includes journalists who were doing their job in the city.
Russian law enforcement promptly opened an investigation into this crime.
❗️ All those involved and responsible for this and other terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia will inevitably face punishment.
A couple of days ago, Zelensky turned to Hitler’s rhetoric again and called Russians “human scum,” once again demonstrating that Ukraine, which is infected with Nazism that has molded into terrorism, must be completely denazified and demilitarised. This will certainly be done. The Kiev regime and its leaders, who worship the criminals of the Third Reich, will end up just like their idols, elevated to the rank of heroes there.
We call on all responsible governments and relevant international organisations to dissociate themselves from the actions and decisions of the Kiev junta, to condemn its crimes aimed at the ostentatious, cynical destruction of the civilian population. Silence is regarded by Ukrainian neo-Nazis as approval of their actions.
☝️ At the same time, the West must understand that the criminal regime it has nurtured and sponsored, which the Westerners support to attack Russia, will one day turn NATO weapons against NATO countries.

🎙 Excerpts from President Vladimir Putin's remarks during his visit to Vishnevsky Central Military Clinical Hospital (January 1, 2024)
💬 The situation on the battlefield is changing. This is despite the fact that the entire "civilised" West is fighting us. <...>
The most important thing we have is, of course, the unity of our people and society, because there is an understanding of how important the job you are doing on the battlefield is in the armed struggle for our country and our future. <...>
The problem is not with Ukraine, but with those who are trying to destroy Russia using Ukraine. That is the problem. But they will fail: it is simply out of the question.
The realisation is starting to dawn on them, and the rhetoric is changing: those who were talking just yesterday about the need to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia are now looking for the right words on how to quickly end the conflict.
☝️ We also want to end the conflict, as quickly as possible, but only on our terms. We have no desire to fight endlessly, but we are not going to cede our positions either.
