🇷🇺🇦🇪 President Vladimir Putin held talks with President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.
💬 Vladimir Putin: First of all, I would like to thank you for inviting us and for this colourful and friendly welcome.
Today, our relations – thanks to the position you have taken – have reached unprecedented heights. You and I are in constant contact, and our colleagues work together on a permanent basis.
The United Arab Emirates is Russia’s main trade partner in the Arab world.
✅ Last year, trade grew by 67.7 percent. This year, I think, the figures will be even higher. The same goes for investment activity.
✅ There is also progress in industrial cooperation. A number of major oil and gas projects are being implemented.
✅ Tourist exchanges are making headway.
🌐 We also cooperate internationally. As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, the United Arab Emirates makes a huge contribution to stabilising the situation in the world.
I am quite pleased that the United Arab Emirates is beginning to work within #BRICS. In 2024, Russia will chair this organisation. We will continue contacts on this. We look forward to meeting you at the [BRICS] Summit in Kazan in October 2024.

🇷🇺🇸🇦 A meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud took place in the Saudi King’s al-Yamamah Palace.
💬 Vladimir Putin: We expected to see you in Moscow. I know that the circumstances have affected these plans. But, as I said, nothing can prevent the development of our friendly relations. <...> The next meeting will hopefully take place in Moscow.
The Soviet Union was among the first to recognise the independent state of Saudi Arabia. This was almost a hundred years ago.
🤝 Much has happened in our relations during this time, but over the past seven years, they have certainly reached a truly unprecedented level.
We have stable, very good ties in political interaction, the economy and in humanitarian area.

✈️ Legendary Soviet fighter ace Yekaterina Budanova was born on December 7, 1916. She went down in history as the second top-scoring WWII female fighter pilot, with 266 combat missions and 11 enemy aircraft shot down.
When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, she volunteered for the Red Army in October 1941 and later trained in Saratov where Budanova completely mastered Yakovlev Yak-1 fighters.
Katya scored her first air victory in October 1942. At that time, she engaged eight Junkers Ju-88 bombers and downed one of them. Risking her life every day, she defended the skies over Stalingrad, fought near Rostov-on-Don and helped liberate Donbass.
In July 1943, while covering the withdrawal of the Soviet fighters, her plane was damaged in a dogfight, and she was mortally wounded. Nevertheless, the heroic pilot managed to land the fighter in a last-ditch effort.
🎖 In 1993, she was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia.

💬 You know that the global system of economic relations is going through radical, irreversible changes, as we have just heard, which is due to the fact that a multipolar model is about to replace yesterday’s globalisation model. <...> This change in the global economic landscape and the rise of new leaders are an objective and to a large degree predictable process.
Western elites are trying to contain growth artificially in what they regard as the global periphery, which they have traditionally exploited and used as a resource, as a source of [economic] rent and simply as a colony. To attain this goal, they use sanctions, for example, exacerbating the political situation and provoking conflicts in whole macro-regions in an attempt to maintain their slipping domination.
☝️ Despite any external pressure, rebuffing, pounding on the table, whispering in the ear, there are people who are leaders of countries, and powerful countries at that, who do not succumb to this pressure and are guided primarily by their own national interests, and they fit into the model that we offer for development.

🇷🇺 Russia is Europe’s largest economy and is now ahead of all the leading EU countries in terms of growth rates. Moreover, the so-called essential non-commodity industries are accounting for an increasing share in the structure of Russia’s economic growth.
We are interested in making our market open and competitive. This is the key to development, a stimulus for the qualitative growth of domestic businesses and the entire Russian economy.

💬 President Putin: Our relations are developing very well. Please convey my best wishes to the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. Thanks to his support, we have gained good momentum over the past year.
📈 Last year, trade grew by 20 percent and achieved good results: somewhere over five billion – we reached five billion.
We have large infrastructure projects. We were discussing for a long time, and now we have come to the practical construction of the North-South railway.
We, of course, traditionally work in the energy sector and in education: we have a significant number of Iranian students studying here. In general, there are pretty active efforts in almost all areas.
🌐 And of course, it is very important for us to exchange views on the situation in the region, especially the situation in Palestine.

⚡️ Address of the chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the UN, international parliamentary organisations, and parliaments of the world in connection with the violation of the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child due to criminal actions by the Kiev regime
💬 The mass use by the Kiev-controlled armed formations of indiscriminate weapons, firearms, and light weapons, as well as the use of cluster and phosphorous munitions, and remote mining of residential communities are the main reasons minors are becoming victims.
The criminal actions of the Kiev regime have violated a whole range of provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child of November 20, 1989, including the provisions guaranteeing the right to life, healthy development, freedom of conscience, thought, views, opinions, and religious beliefs, education, and the use of the native language.
❌ Children living in Ukraine are subjected to harassment based on language, and are persecuted for pro-Russian views.
❌ Ukrainian armed formations force minors to undergo combat training in field camps, perform tasks as saboteurs, missile and artillery spotters, spread disinformation, and participate in terrorist attacks.
❌ There are numerous cases of child abuse with the connivance of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, as well as the exploitation of children in the porn industry, which thrives in Ukraine.
❌ In cooperation with Western non-governmental organisations linked to organised crime, Kiev covers up the abduction of children for further export abroad.
❗️ We consider it important to condemn the inaction of the specialised agencies and international organisations, whose scope of duties includes providing assistance in ensuring compliance with the fundamental rights and freedoms of minors.
Such a biased and unprofessional approach encourages the Kiev rulers to violate international humanitarian law and to condemn an even greater number of innocent children to death and suffering.

🇷🇺🇧🇾 On December 8, 1999, Russia and Belarus signed the Treaty Establishing the Union State of Russia and Belarus. This integration structure presented a combination of characteristics pertaining both to an international organisation and a state, and its creation marked a new stage in the unification of our two nations.
The effort to establish the Union State includes:
👉 creating a single economic space;
👉 carrying out coordinated foreign, defence and social policies;
👉 establishing a unified legal system.
At the same time, each member state preserves its sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and model of government.
The specific achievements of the Union State include:
✅ Ensuring equal right to employment, labour compensation and other social and labour guarantees for all;
✅ Visa-free travel and no migration cards;
✅ Mutual recognition and equivalency of diplomas, academic degrees and titles;
✅ Joint programmes in manufacturing, energy, construction, IT and space exploration.
In November 2021, 28 development programmes were adopted for the Union State. By carrying them out, Russia and Belarus aim to create an equitable and harmonised business environment that offers new development opportunities to their economies. The two countries’ governments and relevant agencies have already fulfilled about 90 percent of the initiatives set forth in these programmes.
Russia and Belarus have come a long way since signing the treaty in forging closer ties. Today, the relations between them have taken on a genuinely strategic and allied nature. Close and deep-running foreign policy coordination remains an integral part of these relations, including within platforms such as the UN, the CIS, the CSTO, the OSCE, and the IAEA.
🤝 Today, Russia and Belarus share the same views on almost all key international matters. Moscow and Minsk maintain an active political dialogue at all levels.

❗️ Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on Venezuela-Guyana dispute over Essequibo’s status
💬 We are closely following the developments around Essequibo, considering the results of the December 3 consultative referendum in Venezuela on the status of this area and legal steps following this event.
🇻🇪🇬🇾 In our view, this is a matter of Venezuela-Guyana relations and should be settled in a neighbourly way by finding peaceful mutually acceptable solutions in accordance with international law, bilateral agreements and national legislation.
We believe that the priority in the current situation is to reduce tensions and strengthen trust between Venezuela and Guyana. We urge them to refrain from any actions that may unbalance the situation and harm both sides.
📞 We welcome the December 6 telephone conversation between Foreign Minister of Venezuela Yvan Gil and his Guyanese counterpart Hugh Todd. We hope they will continue such contacts.
We oppose foreign pressure and interference in the affairs of sovereign states, especially when it comes to delicate issues requiring caution from third countries at both public and private level.
☝️ We reaffirm our position of principle that Latin America should remain a zone of peace, as the CELAC countries announced at the Havana summit in 2014. We support the efforts to enhance regional unity and welcome Latin American and Caribbean countries consolidating their position as an influential centre of the emerging multipolar world.

Ukraine has become an enormous black hole for vast material and human resources.
The term “black hole” is not a symbolic simile in this case but indicates that there is a mechanism of illegal distribution of resources and their plunder in enormous amounts. Nobody can say where all the resources disappear, but everyone regards it as a fact, including in the Middle East and North Africa.
It is common knowledge that the weapons sent by the United States and other NATO countries to Ukraine have turned up in the Middle East. These weapons do not appear there in small amounts, or by chance and neither are they planted. They are there delivered in large batches.
<...>
The Kiev regime has long abandoned any hope for Ukraine’s future as a sovereign state, choosing instead enslavement by transatlantic corporations and colonisation by the West.
<...>
NATO is becoming mired in the Ukraine conflict. As we understand, it is conducting a hybrid war against Russia under the slogan of “saving” Ukraine. Additionally, they have said that their main goal is to prevent a confrontation with Russia.
In reality, the risks of a direct military clash between Russia and NATO are increasing. The Russian Armed Forces will see any fighter aircraft involved in the conflict on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as legitimate targets for destruction, no matter where the planes take off.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on the Joint Statement by the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia confirming the mutual intention to normalise relations and conclude a peace treaty
💬 Moscow notes with satisfaction the Joint Statement by the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia confirming the mutual intention to normalise relations and conclude a peace treaty between the two countries.
🇦🇿🇦🇲 We welcome the fact that Baku and Yerevan have reached an agreement to release the Armenian and Azerbaijani prisoners of war. Russia has consistently advocated for a prisoner exchange where everyone is released. This will contribute to mutual confidence-building and open up new opportunities for advancing the normalisation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan in line with the comprehensive trilateral agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia of 2020-2022. We are ready to continue to provide all our assistance in unblocking transport links, delimiting the border, concluding a peace treaty and civil societies contacts.
We also appreciate Yerevan’s decision to withdraw its bid to host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC COP29) in November 2024 as a gesture of goodwill, as well as Baku’s declared support for Armenia’s candidacy for the UNFCCC Bureau membership. The Russian side (Special Presidential Representative on Climate Issues Ruslan Edelgeriyev) has contacted Baku and Yerevan with a view to reaching an agreement on the UNFCCC.

💬 The other day NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg turned up at the COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai. One might wonder what NATO has to do with climate?
During his speech, Stoltenberg discussed Russian gas and the Alliance's responsibility. One might wonder what NATO has to do with Russian gas?
Unfortunately, NATO Secretary-General omitted to mention NATO's efforts to disrupt supply chains from Russia for the most environmentally friendly hydrocarbon energy source with minimal CO2 emissions.
He failed to acknowledge that prior to COP28, the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter published a report on the impact on Scandinavia’s ecology of the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines.
To put it simply, the impact was catastrophic.
Experts, including Joel Bengtsson, a climate analyst with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, estimated that the explosion resulted in the release of 14 million tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere over Sweden and Denmark. Due to the low density of gas, the true extent of the release is difficult to comprehend, if specialists estimate it to be around 14000000 tonnes.
The emission release was so severe that it affected Sweden's annual reporting for the EU's overall emission statistics. Sweden's share of approximately 6 million tonnes is ten times greater than the total emissions from domestic aviation in a year and is equivalent to the annual turnover of a well-established agriculture industry in a large country.
As a result of the terrorist attack, the Scandinavian countries of the EU now face penalties for non-compliance with climate obligations, although they did nothing wrong. The gas pipelines simply passed through their exclusive economic zone.
One might wonder what the terrorist attack on the Nord Streams has to do with NATO?
The connection lies with the White House. It was there, at the highest level, that the plans to destroy this infrastructure project were announced six months prior to the terrorist attack that led to such disastrous environmental consequences.

🎖 On December 9, Russia celebrates the Heroes of the Fatherland Day. Today we honour the Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of the Russian Federation, recipients of the Order of St. George and the Order of Glory, people whose outstanding deeds and accomplishments will forever be written into the history of our country.
The date of the holiday is dedicated to Saint George. On this day in 1769, Empress Catherine II established the highest military award — the Order of St. George, which was bestowed upon heroes who showed exceptional bravery in battle. More than 10,000 people became knights of the Order.
In 1807, the Cross of St. George, state decoration for lower ranks was established and became one of the most respected combat awards.
On April 16, 1934, the Central Executive Committee of the USSR established the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union for collective and personal feats in service to the Soviet state and society.
☝️ Eight Soviet diplomats were awarded this title, another was the recipient all three classed of the Order of Glory.
In 1992 the title Hero of the Russian Federation was established. Since 1992, it has been awarded to approximately 1,500 people, including posthumously to Ambassador of Russia to Turkey Andrey Karlov, tragically killed as a result of a terrorist attack, as well as the soldiers participating in the special military operation.
👉 In 2000, the Order of St. George was restored by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation as the highest military award.

💬 President Putin: The fabric of popular memory is impermeable to time. We have been passing on from one generation to another the feeling of gratitude to our heroes and their courage and revered those who stood up to defend the freedom and independence of our Fatherland.
