☝️ Assertions of “war crimes” committed by the Russian Armed Forces in the course of the special military operation have repeatedly been proved false at the detailed briefings by the Russian Defence Ministry, our Ministry and the Permanent Mission to the UN where we held a special news conference yesterday.
❓ The question, then, is what purpose does this blatantly false provocation serve? We are inclined to view it as a pretext to torpedo the ongoing negotiations at a time when some light, however dim, has appeared at the end of the tunnel.

▫️The grouping of troops from the Lugansk People's Republic continues to attack the positions of the Ukrainian 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade and is fighting on the eastern outskirts of Novotoshkovskoe.
▫️On the Severodonetsk direction, units of the Lugansk People's Republic have broken through the defence of the Ukrainian 57th Motorized Infantry Brigade, destroying up to 50 personnel and 9 armoured vehicles, and are fighting on the northern outskirts of Zamulovka.
▫️The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation strike at the assets of the military infrastructure of Ukraine.
💥High-precision air-based missiles near Zolochev and Chuguev destroyed 1 command post of territorial defence unit, 1 fuel depot and 1 armoured vehicle repair plant.
✈️💥During the day, operational-tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit 33 military assets of Ukraine. Among them: 8 command posts, 3 logistics depots, as well as 21 strong points and areas of Ukrainian military equipment concentration.
💥Russian air defence means shot down 5 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle in the air.
📊In total, 125 aircraft and 93 helicopters, 403 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,981 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 854 field artillery and mortars, as well as 1,876 units of special military vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed during the operation.
❗️On the morning of April 5, another attempt by the Kiev regime to evacuate the leaders of the Azov nationalist battalion was foiled near Mariupol.
💥Two Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters attempting to break through to the city from the sea were shot down by man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
▫️Earlier, we have repeatedly and through all available channels informed the Kiev regime of our proposals on the possibility of the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdrawing from Mariupol after voluntarily laying down their arms.
▫️Today, once again, starting at 6am Moscow time, Ukrainian servicemen were asked to stop hostilities, lay down their weapons and withdraw along an agreed route to Kiev-controlled territory.
▫️However, these proposals have been consistently ignored by the Kiev regime.
❗️Given Kiev's disinterest in saving the lives of its servicemen, Mariupol will be liberated from nationalists by units of the Russian Armed Forces and the Donetsk People's Republic.

Statement by Ambassador Gennady Gatilov regarding the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the UN Human Rights Council on April 7, 2022
Russia has made a conscious decision to withdraw in advance from the UN Human Rights Council on April 7, 2022.
The resolution initiated by the United States, which was adopted today by the UN General Assembly, is based not on the human rights situation in a specific country, but solely on geopolitical priorities of the collective West, which does not abandon attempts to subjugate various spheres of interaction between states in the international arena.
Those who disagree with their approach, as the Westerners see it, should be "punished". The main goal is to find a pretext.

💬 I am accusing Western and primarily the US media of not only spreading fake news and disinformation, but of being accomplices in the massacre in Bucha.
Western media can block us on Twitter all they want. They can cut things out, apply labels and threaten users that certain information is supposedly “hazardous to human health.” They are spreading fake stories and presenting them as fact. They can do this as long as they like but they must remember that history always dots its i’s and crosses its t’s.
The truth will always prevail.

⚡️ In Russia’s view, the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly in New York on April 7 on suspending the membership of the Russian Federation in the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is an unlawful and politically motivated act of punishment designed to make an example of a sovereign UN member pursuing independent domestic and foreign policies.
❗️ Effective April 7, 2022, the Russian Federation has decided to end its membership in the UNHRC.
Our decision to end our membership in the UNHRC effective immediately does not mean Russia is retreating from its international human rights commitments.
☝️The Russian Federation intends to continue helping to facilitate a constructive dialogue on human rights and engaging all stakeholders in collective decision-making in the interests of all groups of states.

🔺In their anti-Russian fervor, they consciously disregard the fundamental principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and their international legal obligations, including those under the relevant international covenants.
🔺In violation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, in some OSCE pS Russian-speaking minors are bullied, humiliated, insulted, and beaten in schools. Not to mention psychological pressure and creation of conditions that hinder educational process.
🔺Campaign has been launched to eliminate Russian presence in the global information space, Russian journalists are banned from expressing their opinions, Russian-speaking residents of some OSCE pS are denied the right to access to information in their native language.
🔺A number of U.S. social media platforms have willingly joined the campaign of rabid Russophobia. Meta stated that in the context of situation in Ukraine, it will not prohibit its users from calling for violence against Russians and the Russian military.
🔺We are concerned about the safety of Russian-speaking journalists and civic activists, incl. in light of the appearance in Latvia of an equivalent of the notorious Ukrainian website «Myrotvorets», which publishes data of those who support Russia's actions in Ukraine.

🔺The Russian Federation is opening daily from 08:00 to 19:00 (Moscow time) 🌊 a humanitarian corridor, which is a safe lane south-west of Ukraine's territorial sea, 80 nautical miles long and 3 nautical miles wide.
🔺Information on the operation of the Maritime Humanitarian Corridor is announced in navigational warnings through the World Navigation Alert Service (Area 3, Cadiz, 🇪🇸 Spain). Every 15 minutes every day on international VHF radio channels 14 and 16, the Russian Navy transmits messages in English and Russian containing detailed information on the operation of the Maritime Humanitarian Corridor.
🔺At the same time, the 🇺🇦Kiev authorities continue to fail to acknowledge and shy away from engaging on the issue of ensuring the safe passage of foreign vessels to the assembly area.
🇷🇺The Russian Federation is taking a full range of exhaustive measures to ensure civilian navigation in the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov and the Mediterranean.
📍Once again, we call on the International Maritime Organization and the management of ship-owning companies to influence official Kiev to take measures aimed at unblocking and securing the departure of foreign vessels from Ukrainian ports.

7️⃣8️⃣ years ago – on April 10, 1944 – the Red Army liberated Odessa from the Nazis
⚔️ The Odessa Operation took place from March 26 to April 14, 1944. In the early hours of April 10, the 8th Guards Army and the 6th and the 5th Attack Armies, along with guerilla forces attacked hostile forces in Odessa after a short shelling attack. By 10 a.m. Soviet troops had fully liberated Odessa.
🕯 During the Nazis’ Siege of Odessa, which lasted 907 days, 82,000 citizens perished, and an additional 78,000 people were sent to Germany to work as slave labourers.
🎖 Twenty seven units and troops, which distinguished themselves during the liberation of the city, were designated “Odessa” units. For heroism and bravery displayed during battle 14 people were awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union. In 1965 Odessa was awarded the title of #HeroCity.
