🎙 FM Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during talks with Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi

📍 Tunxi, March 30, 2022

💬 We are delighted to revisit China. This is our second meeting in 2022, and it underscores the intensity and trustful nature of our regular bilateral dialogue.

❗️ We are living through a serious stage in the history of international relations. I am convinced that the outcome of this stage will substantially clarify the international situation. We will move towards a multipolar, equitable and democratic world order with you and other like-minded nations.

🇷🇺🇨🇳 We are interested in ensuring the sustainable and consistent development of our relations with the People’s Republic of China, as agreed by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

Today, we will review specific steps to ensure that all these agreements are implemented.

◼️ The #BattleOfRzhev, one of the bloodiest and longest encounters of the Great Patriotic War, ended on March 31, 1943.

▪️ The fighting around the Rzhev-Vyazma Salient continued from January 8, 1942, until March 31, 1943, with the Soviet troops of the Western and Kalinin fronts carrying out four separate offensives to destroy Germany’s Army Group Centre, as well as liberate Rzhev, Sychyovka and Vyazma and eliminate the Rzhev-Vyazma Salient so German troops could not use it as a bridgehead.

⚔️ Having liberated Rzhev on March 3, 1943, Soviet troops pursued the enemy from March 2 through 31, moving the front line another 130 to 160 km from Moscow, and permanently eliminating the threat to the capital.

🕯 According to official statistics, the Soviets lost half a million people near Rzhev, including some 400,000 killed, dying from wounds, missing or taken prisoner.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answers to questions by the Xinhua news agency, Tunxi, March 31, 2022

Question: What are the main results of the Meeting of Afghanistan’s Neighbouring Countries?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: The main results have been enshrined in the Joint Statement of the Tunxi Initiative, a statement that reflects the shared views of the participants in the meeting. The focus is on helping the Afghan nation, which is suffering from the legacy left by almost 20 years of NATO presence. The NATO force has left the country in a very bad state.

The international community’s priority is to help Afghanistan solve its humanitarian problems. The next step is to assist the country in reviving its economy. The main message to the international community is that it must be much more proactive. The roadmap for the world with regard to Afghanistan is being formulated by that country’s neighbours. This China-sponsored meeting has been particularly important.

Question: What are the reasons behind the current crisis in Ukraine?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: The main reason behind the Ukraine crisis is the policy that the US-led NATO has been conducting for several decades. After the breakup of the USSR, they continued expanding their military infrastructure further east. They have been flooding Ukraine with weapons and creating a military infrastructure there. This threatened Russia’s security and was a gross violation of the decisions not to strengthen one’s security at the expense of the security of others, which were approved by the OSCE and within the framework of Russia-NATO relations.

🎙 FM Sergey Lavrov’s address at the plenary session of a Meeting between Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries (Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan)

🔹The new administration of Afghanistan has managed to keep the state afloat. Certain positive results have been scored in the field of counterterrorism operations.

🔹 In our opinion, the new Kabul government does not fully represent all sections of Afghan society, and we see this as the main obstacle for its official recognition.

🔹 The UN should lead the way in officially recognising the Taliban movement.

🔹 The “collective West” bears direct responsibility for the current humanitarian situation and the deplorable state of the Afghan economy. Therefore, it must assume most of the financial burden for overcoming the crisis and bringing the situation back to normal.

🇷🇺🇳🇴📞 Russia's President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Store.

Vladimir Putin explained in detail the reasons for launching the special military operation to protect Donbass, its goals and objectives. He placed particular emphasis on humanitarian issues, primarily the measures taken to ensure the safety of the civilian population and opening humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians from the areas of hostilities, including Mariupol.

The President of Russia also informed Jonas Gahr Store about the talks between Russian and Ukrainian representatives. The latest round took place recently in Istanbul.

❗️🇧🇷 Statement of the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the case of persecution of a journalist from Brazil by Ukrainian authorities

On March 29, Brazilian journalist André Liohn was forced to leave Ukraine due to persecution, pressure and death threats from the Ukrainian authorities. Apparently, this is the way Kiev decided to implement a law recently signed by the Ukrainian president, which introduces criminal liability for disclosing information about the weapons and troops transfer. At first glance, such an act could have a certain expediency during a martial law. However, if we carefully study its provisions, as well as the first consequences of process of law, an obvious conclusion offers itself: all those who dare to tell information objectionable to the Ukrainian authorities will be equated with criminals for Kiev.

On the example of a journalist from Brazil, we see Kiev's progressive panic fear of the truth, which inevitably leaks out through the screen of Ukrainian propaganda fables. Contrary not only to principles of freedom of speech and humanism, but also to a number of acts of international humanitarian law (the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, etc.), the Ukrainian authorities are doing everything to make the distinctive “press” sign not be perceived as protection during the armed conflict, but, on the contrary, as a reason to become the number one target in annihilation of all those people who are trying to talk about events in Ukraine from the standpoint of objectivity, humanity and common sense.

Correspondents working in Donbass know this firsthand. Over the 8 years of conflict, many of them were under direct fire from the armed forces of Ukraine, and some, unfortunately, could not return from their editorial assignment. At the cost of own lives, they launched process of insight into the world community, this process is already irreversible. However now for every media representative who has a conscience and professional honor it is critically important to do everything possible to increase the speed of such insight, on which the fate of millions of people depends.

In this regard, we highly recommend, first of all, the Western audience of the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs to read an interview of André Liohn to the UOL agency. Particularly important is the part in which Mr. Liohn openly admits that it is the Ukrainian authorities that are likely responsible for the deaths of journalists on Ukrainian territory, and not the Russian military, as they say in Ukraine.

That #OOPS moment when the truth comes out... even on the MSM. On air.

The unexpected reveal of "innocent patients" with assault rifles showcased how the Ukrainian military uses ambulances. That same modus operandi involves exploiting civilians and using them as human shields.
