⚡️ Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on the January 8, 2022, events in Brazil’s capital
💬 The Foreign Ministry firmly condemns the actions by radical members of the Brazilian opposition who, on January 8, 2022, invaded government buildings located in the country’s capital.
❗️ We consider attempts to violate the constitutional order unacceptable, and express our full support to President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who was sworn in as President on January 1, 2022. We are certain that building on his authority, reaffirmed in a popular vote, as well as his experience in state governance, and based on the country’s democratic tradition, he will be able to overcome the consequences of these events.
The Foreign Ministry strongly believes in the importance of preserving internal stability in Brazil, a country that is Russia’s strategic partner, a proactive participant in BRICS and the Group of Twenty, and also a member of the UN Security Council at the moment.

🇷🇺🇨🇳📞 On January 9, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke over the phone with Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Qin Gang.
The Russian Minister congratulated his Chinese colleague on his recent appointment and wished him success in this responsible position.
The two officials discussed topical matters on the bilateral, global and regional agendas. They rejected the policy of the United States and its satellites to establish a hegemony in global affairs, which prompts the West to provoke confrontation with Russia and China, interfere in their domestic affairs, and attempts to constrain the development of the two countries through sanctions and other illegitimate methods.
The ministers went on to state that Moscow and Beijing were united in their approaches to fundamental matters on the global development agenda. They gave a positive assessment of the constructive dialogue and high level of bilateral coordination in the United Nations, BRICS, the SCO, within the Group of Twenty, as well as at ASEAN cooperation platforms and other formats, with all these efforts fully in line with the trust-based partnership between the two countries.
Sergey Lavrov invited Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Qin Gang to visit Russia at a convenient time.

🇻🇪 On developments in Venezuela
☝️ Supported and instigated by its Western sponsors, the Venezuelan radical opposition continued its attempts to breathe new life into the parallel National Assembly in order to hold onto the levers of power at any cost. At the same time, the correct and logical decision was made to bring the Juan Guaido-led “transitional government” to an end.
This confirmed what we have long been saying, notably, that the activities of a parallel power structure are not a lawful approach. Even the ideological inspirers in Washington, which tried to keep the Guaido project afloat until the last minute, eventually gave up on him because this impostor was corrupt and lost the public trust.
Obviously, the goals of those who tried to bring about a colour revolution in Venezuela, something that did not take place, remain the same. Unnamed sources in the US administration signaled that the White House would consider any new bodies set up by the Venezuelan “democratic forces” as a “transitional government.” They are not attempting to hide the ultimate goal of this farce – to maintain control over Venezuelan state funds that are in a foreign jurisdiction.
<...>
This is yet another example of the “rules-based order” that continues to be stubbornly pursued by Western capitals. This order is based on the striving of our opponents to impose their will on sovereign states.
❗️ We categorically reject overt blackmail, threats and illegal unilateral coercive measures used by the Western nations. The West is trying to present its own selfish aims as aspirations of other nations.
Only the universally recognised standards of international law and principles held in the UN Charter can serve as a foundation for equitable and mutually respectful interstate dialogue and for maintaining a sustainable and fair world order.

💬Prime Minister Trudeau’s cabinet funneling money to fuel up war and support an illegitimate regime thousand kilometers away from Canada looks ridiculous.
Ridiculous, in particular, against the backdrop of all the problems Canada suffers domestically. This is just an amused bystander observation. Of course, it’s up to the Canadians to decide if this policy is adequate.

🎙 Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question about the EU-NATO Joint Declaration signed in Brussels
Read in full
❓Question: How would you comment on the Joint Declaration on EU-NATO Cooperation signed in Brussels?
💬 Maria Zakharova: The Joint Declaration on EU-NATO Cooperation has reaffirmed the EU’s full subordination to the bloc, which is a military instrument being used to ensure US interests.
Contrary to all their OSCE obligations, they view security in the Euro-Atlantic area through the prism of standing up to Russia, increasing weapons and equipment supplies to the Kiev regime, enhancing military mobility in the European “theatre of war,” and continuing NATO’s expansion.
It is clear that NATO’s and EU’s confrontational approach towards states that pursue independent foreign policies, and their attempts to divide the world into “us and them” will only hinder the peaceful settlement of conflicts and weaken international security against the persisting challenge of terrorism, which has been mentioned in the declaration.
☝️ The Americans’ motives are crystal clear. They want to pull the EU into the “geostrategic competition,” as it is described in the declaration, which Washington has launched so that Europe will play the role of America’s vassal, rapidly ceding its political and economic positions and hence becoming increasingly more dependent on the United States.

🗓 On January 12, 1943, the Red Army forces launched an offensive that was later codenamed Iskra (Spark).
⚔️ The goal of the operation was to break the siege of Leningrad.
At 9.30 am on January 12, two thousand Soviet weapons fired on the Nazi frontline. Soviet artillery of the Leningrad Front continuously shelled the left bank of the Neva River for two hours and twenty minutes. Later, soldiers of four first-echelon divisions attacked across the frozen river. Light tanks and armoured vehicles supported the infantry.
By late January, the troops of the Volkhov and Leningrad fronts dissected the Wehrmacht’s defences with powerful blows from both sides and pushed the enemy 12 kilometres back from Lake Ladoga. The Germans lost about 30,000 killed, wounded and missing.
Although the siege of Leningrad was completely lifted only on January 27, 1944, Operation Iskra made it possible to partially unblock the city, considerably improving conditions. Before that, the famous Road of Life across the ice of Lake Ladoga was the city’s only connection to the mainland.

⚡️ Emergency statement by Joint Coordination Headquarters of Russian Federation for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine
◽️ The Security Service of Ukraine is preparing for a large-scale provocation in the next few days to discredit Russia's activity within the 'grain deal', and to accuse of creating 'shortage of food' in Ukraine.
◽️ In Karaichnoye (Kharkov region), the Ukrainian intelligence service is planting mines in a granary. After its explosion, the Russian Federation will be accused of the allegedly 'intentional elimination of grain stocks in Ukraine', 'sparking starvation', and therefore 'disrupting the grain deal'. Western media will present this incident as 'another atrocity committed by Russian forces' that requires a 'harsh response of the international community'.
◽️ A group of up to 30 Ukrainian professionals in explosives and employees of the Security Service of Ukraine arrived to Volchansk (Kharkov region) for preparing the sabotage.
◽️ The granary is owned by V. Uvarov, a non-staff employee of the Security Service of Ukraine. There are also identification data for A. Tkachuk, the chief of the group, and all of its members as well as their current location: in the military commissariat of Volchansk (Dukhovnaya st., 29).
◽️ In the wake of Ukrainian army's failures, and on the eve of the meeting of the NATO defence ministers in Ramstein (Germany) on 20 January, these resounding provocations are used by Kiev authorities to put more pressure on the opinion of Western countries for achieving large-scale supplies of modern armaments and hardware for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

🇷🇺🇹🇷📞 President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation.
The Presidents reaffirmed their intention to further develop comprehensive cooperation between Russia and Türkiye. Their priorities include energy cooperation, in part, supplies of Russian natural gas and the creation of a regional gas hub in Türkiye.
The Presidents continued exchanging views on the developments around Ukraine. They reviewed the exchange of POWs, primarily the wounded, at Türkiye’s initiative and with account for the recent meetings of the Russian and Ukrainian human rights commissioners in Ankara.
Vladimir Putin emphasised the Kiev regime’s destructive policy of continuing to intensify the hostilities with the support of its Western sponsors, which are still sending more arms and combat equipment to Ukraine. Kiev’s hypocritical policy is illustrated by its refusal to accept a proposal on a ceasefire during the Orthodox Christmas.
The Presidents discussed the implementation of the Istanbul package agreements of July 22, 2022, on Ukrainian grain exports from Black Sea ports and the unblocking of food and fertiliser shipments from Russia.
In addition, the Presidents discussed ways to normalise relations between Türkiye and Syria, including Ankara’s initiative to launch consultations with the participation of Russian, Türkish and Syrian representatives. They also noted the practical importance of joint efforts by Russia, Türkiye and Iran to promote Syrian settlement in the context of the Astana agreements.

Russia/USSR was the decisive force behind saving Europe from Nazism and putting an end to genocide.
On January 27, 1945, the Red Army liberated Auschwitz death camp. Now, this day is marked as the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
During the WWII, Nazis exterminated 15 million civilians on the Russian/Soviet territories.
To win over Germany and its allies the Red Army sacrificed 12 million soldiers.
Alas, minister Joly seems to lack knowledge of that, as well as has completely forgotten Canadians and Russians were WWII allies.
❗Russia will not let neo-Nazism to rise and spread in Europe and elsewhere.
☝This is fully applicable to Ukraine that will be denazified.
