🗓 On November 22, 1941, the Road of Life across the Lake Ladoga went operational. 30 km long, this dangerous ice route remained the only connection between the besieged Leningrad & the "mainland"

After the city was encircled by the Nazis on September 8, 1941, the issue of food supply & the evacuation of people became of critical importance. Preparations for the construction of the ice road got underway in October 1941.

❗️ On November 22, the first convoy of 60 lorries set out across the ice of Lake Ladoga. At that time, the daily quota of bread in Leningrad was reduced to 250 grammes for workers & only 125 grammes for other citizens. People began to die of hunger by the thousands.

🚚 Ignoring the harsh weather conditions, shelling & fatigue, the drivers made two, even three trips a day.

💬 Leonid Barkovich, driver of the 804th lorry fleet on the Road of Life: Each of us hoped to evade an enemy shell, but we also knew that only death would prevent us from fulfilling our duty.

The Road of Life continued to supply Leningrad until March 1943. In total, more than 20,000 people worked on it. How many of them gave their lives so that Leningrad could live is still unknown.

⭐️ To commemorate the 78th anniversary of the lifting of the Siege of Leningrad, one of the 4,000 famous «Polutorka» (GAZ AA) lorries that delivered essential supplies to the city was temporarily put on display in front of the Foreign Ministry building.

It is difficult to overstate the importance of the Road of Life. There is no doubt that it played a major role in the survival of Leningrad. The total amount of cargo transported across the ice exceeded 1.6 million tonnes; during the same time, some 1.4 million people were evacuated from the city. The memory of this feat is carefully preserved: the Leningrad Region has recently restored the Road of Life Museum, The Breaking Through the Siege of Leningrad museum & The Breakthrough panorama museum.

📅 On November 24, 1944, the Red Army completed its Baltic Strategic Offensive Operation aimed at defeating the Wehrmacht forces in the Baltic states and liberating the territories of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from the German invaders.

The Nazis used the Baltic republics of the Soviet Union as a huge fortified area with powerful strongholds. The Third Reich saw the Baltic states becoming part of the German Reichskommissariat Ostland in the future. The nefarious plan was to partly exterminate and partly expel the population to the eastern regions, Germanising those who would remain. In 1941-1944, the Nazis and their accomplices – collaborators – killed 95 percent of the 220,000 Jews who lived in Lithuania before the war, as well as 70,000 Latvian Jews (90 percent of the pre-war Jewish population) and about 20,000 Jews brought in from other countries.

⚔️ By the end of the summer of 1944, against the backdrop of the Red Army triumphant advance, the Nazi troops were essentially pressed back against the Baltic Sea. On September 14, the troops of the Baltic fronts launched an offensive in the direction of Riga. In terms of its scope, the Baltic offensive operation was one of the largest strategic operations in the autumn of 1944.

The true patriots of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania fought against Nazism and the occupation regime shoulder to shoulder with the other peoples of the Soviet Union. The 8th Estonian and 130th Latvian rifle corps, as well as Lithuanian units, fought bravely and selflessly as part of the Red Army, making significant contribution to the liberation of the Baltic states.

❗️ As a result of the Red Army’s successful offensive, the Nazi invaders from Army Group North were expelled from almost the entire Baltic territory. Of the 59 divisions, 26 were defeated, and three were completely destroyed.

🎙 Statement by Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia at UNSC briefing on Ukraine (November 23, 2022)

Key points:

☝️ In the course of our special military operation, we have to oppose not only the formations of the Kiev regime, but also countries of the North Atlantic Alliance that provide all sorts of military support to Kiev and thus wage a proxy war on Russia. In order to weaken and destroy the military potential of our opponents, we launch high-precision strikes against energy and other infrastructure that is used to supply Ukrainian armed formations with weapons, first of all Western, facilitate their logistics and liaison.

❗️We cannot remember anyone in the West express any concern back in 2015, when through the fault of Ukraine the people of Crimea were left without water and electricity. To say nothing of the people of Donbas, who suffered from economic suffocation for eight years on end.

⚡️ The residential buildings become damaged and civilians get killed on account of Ukrainian air defense systems that are deployed in centers of Ukrainian cities rather than on the outskirts. As a result, wreckage of the missiles or stray Ukrainian missiles hit the facilities that we never targeted.

<...>

We launch strikes against the Ukrainian infrastructure in retaliation for the pumping-up of Ukraine with Western weapons and the reckless calls to Kiev to win a military victory over Russia. Undermining the combat capability of the Ukrainian army, which threatens the security and territorial integrity of Russia, is one of the goals of our special military operation. This task will be carried out by military means until the Kiev regime adopts a realistic position that would allow to negotiate and try to resolve the issues that forced us to start the SMO.

❗️ Western states seek to establish their geopolitical hegemony by proxy at the expense of Ukrainian lives.

🎖On November 24, 1943, Leningrad pupils were awarded medals “For the Defence of Leningrad.” In all, about 15,000 teenagers received these medals. They worked and fought in the besieged city alongside adults.

After classes, pupils had to work at plants, extinguish incendiary bombs and work as paramedics in hospitals. They also tended many gardens in the city, which saved its residents from hunger in 1942-1944. Up to 3,000 senior students and young employees of plants and factories worked as health brigade members in the Red Cross.

☝️ Most of the pupils awarded with the medal “For the Defence of Leningrad” attended the 47th school. On November 24, 1943, these medals were conferred on 45 pioneers and Komsomol members who mostly distinguished themselves by working in state farms and subsidiary households.

💬 What kind of Nazis are they?! (rephrased from the Western media mantra There are no Nazis in Ukraine)

Canada legalised physician-assisted suicides in 2016. The number of people who wish to be euthanised has been growing annually. In all probability, Canada will reach 50,000 such deaths a year – an achievement worthy of a country that took care, gave refuge to the surviving Nazi scum.

I will remind you that the Third Reich with its Aktion T4 programme (Tiergartenstraße-4) was the first state to introduce euthanasia on a mass scale. Apart from racial prejudice, the Nazis proceeded from economic considerations. It was expensive to pay for people requiring treatment. This was a tax burden. According to a document found in the Hartheim Euthanasia Centre in Nazi Germany, 70,273 people were killed under the Tiergartenstraße-4 programme by September 1, 1941. An unknown Nazi clerk noted with chilling pragmatism: “Considering that these patients could live for another 10 years, this is a saving of 885,439,800 Reichsmarks in total.”

Is the motivation of neoliberal Ottawa different from that of the Reich? Judge for yourselves.

According to a recent study by Daily Mail, an increasing number of people resort to euthanasia not because they are suffering from an incurable disease but because they are simply homeless (whose upkeep is a burden for the state) or people with diabetes. Last year, physicians approved a suicide of a young man with diabetes simply because he asked them. Later on, the commission dismissed their decision as unfounded.

Considering that the suicide rate is growing, journalists already believe that Canada is the easiest place in the world for parting with life with the help of doctors. This is how the Spectator puts it in its article “Why is Canada euthanising the poor?”: “Since last year, Canadian law, in all its majesty, has allowed both the rich as well as the poor to kill themselves if they are too poor to continue living with dignity. In fact, the ever-generous Canadian state will even pay for their deaths. What it will not do is spend money to allow them to live instead of killing themselves.”

The abhorrent Nazi interpretation of eugenics was reincarnated in neoliberalism and received an official seal of approval in Canadian law. This is what all the progressives are appealing for today.

I’d like to recall a sentence from the Hippocratic Oath: “Neither will I administer a poison to anybody when asked to do so, nor will I suggest such a course.

📅 On November 25, 1942, an agreement was signed between the USSR and France on the formation of the French Normandy squadron, later known as the legendary Normandie-Niemen, as part of the Red Army Air Force.

👆 The French squadron operated on the Soviet-German front in 1943-1945. The "Normans" took part in the battles on the Kursk Bulge, in the liberation of Oryol, Bryansk, Kirov, Yelnya, Smolensk, Belorussia, Lithuania.

According to the confirmed data, the French pilots made 5,200 sorties, took part in 869 battles, destroyed 273 enemy aircraft and damaged 80 enemy aircraft. 96 pilots who served in the Normandie-Niemen regiment were awarded 112 orders of Red Banner and Alexander Nevsky, and four were awarded the title the Hero of the Soviet Union. Of the 99 French pilots who were sent to the Soviet Union, 42 died or went missing.

🗓 #OTD 210 years ago, on November 26, 1812, the last major battle of the Patriotic War of 1812 between the Russian army and the retreating army of Napoleon began on the Berezina River (the right tributary of the Dnieper). The Russian commanders’ plan was to cut off the enemy’s retreat.

The plan included launching a simultaneous and decisive offensive with all forces deployed on the flanks of the main Russian army in order to defeat the troops guarding Napoleon’s rear and cut off his retreat to the west. At the same time, the main Russian army group led by Field Marshal Mikhail Kutuzov was to pursue the Grande Armée of the Emperor of France Napoleon from the east.

⚔️ By the end of the three-day battle, Napoleon realised that his artillery and supply train were beyond saving. Less than half of the 85,000-90,000 men were eventually transported to the right bank of the Berezina. Russian troops surrounded the French General Louis Partouneaux’s division (some 4,000 men) in the vicinity of Borisov and forced them to surrender. In total, according to historians, the losses of the French army reached ~50,000 men, including those who drowned in the river, died in the stampede at the crossings, froze to death and were taken prisoner.

The Battle of Berezina broke the Emperor of France. Less than two weeks after the battle ended, Napoleon abandoned his guard and fled to Paris. Only a few dozen thousands of the 500,000 strong army that invaded Russia in June 1812 managed to leave our country six months later.

❗️ It was after Berezina that the French realised the scale of their defeat in Russia. The elimination of what Napoleon once called his “grand” army shocked the people of France so deeply that the expression “C'est la Bérézina” (this is Berezina) became idiomatic in the French language to denoting a complete failure, collapse, or catastrophe. No less important were the impressions of the survivors, that radically changed how other Europeans perceived that war.

🎙 Briefing by Chief of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov (November, 26, 2022)

The Ninth Review Conference of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 28 November to 16 December 2022.

⚠️ The United States’ doctrinal documents continue to set aims for enhancing military biological capabilities. As part of the Strategy, the United States seeks to strengthen worldwide control over the global biological environment and reserves the right to perform «dual-use»research, including research conducted outside of national boundaries.

Another strategic planning document is the updated Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) strategy through 2027, which explicitly acknowledges its dual role. It is to not only provide protection, but also combat support to military units.

The papers disclosed once again indicate Kiev–Washington cooperation, as well as attempts to create pathogen control in Ukrainian laboratories by
installing the PACS system, portions of which were provided to Ukraine under
the title «US government property».

🇺🇸 US research into the pathogenic properties of microorganisms is forcing US administration officials in charge of countering biological threats to reconsider their statements.

👉 The «Boston experiment» highlights the lack of government oversight of genetic engineering and synthetic biology research in the USA. Despite the substantial biological dangers, the research was conducted with US government money and without the necessary authorisation from the national biosafety agency.
