⭕️Read excerpts from the statement of Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the OSCE Alexander Volgarev "Russian Federation on the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances»

⚡️ The issue of enforced disappearances continues to be relevant in the OSCE area and beyond

👥 In Ukraine, persecution and enforced disappearances is being used by the Ukrainian security services to combat dissent - arbitrary incommunicado detention has been a practice in Kyiv-controlled Donbass since 2014

👤 The situation is dramatic in the US, whose authorities have created a network of "secret prisons" where torture and inhumane treatment are commonplace. They also have first-hand experience with regarard to particular vulnerability of migrants to enforced disappearances

🛟 The situation is more tragic only in the EU. The International Organization for Migration estimates that more than 2,000 migrants died and disappeared in 2021 while trying to reach EU countries, especially across the Mediterranean Sea

COMMENT OF THE RUSSIAN MISSION

We have taken note of yesterday's statement made by the OHCHR Spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani on the license revocation of the printed edition of “Novaya Gazeta” in Russia.

🔹 While labelling the events as "another blow to the independence of Russian media," Ms. Shamdasani deliberately attaches little importance to the repeated violations by “Novaya Gazeta” representatives of the Russian legislation and the appropriate warnings that had been issued to them.

🔹 Moreover, the OHCHR Spokesperson, for unknown reasons, does not react in any way to numerous cases of de facto political reprisals against Russian media in various countries.

🔹 As of August 2022, over 100 Russian channels, news agencies and websites were subjected to various restrictions (from political persecution of media representatives to complete shutdown and access denial to information resources) in 40 countries (mainly in Europe).

🎙 Statement by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vassily Nebenzia at the UNSC meeting on the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

Read in full

🔹 We welcome the decision of the IAEA leadership to establish a permanent presence of the Agency at the plant.

🔹 We have been consistently supporting the IAEA's efforts to ensure the nuclear safety and security of Ukraine's nuclear facilities. The Russian side did everything in its power to ensure that Rafael Grossi and his team safely reached the ZNPP, completed their work and returned to Vienna.

🔹 The Ukrainian side, realizing that it cannot use the IAEA visit to the ZNPP for its propaganda purposes, did everything to disrupt it.

🔹 Kiev did not even bother to hide its disappointment with the outcomes of the IAEA visit to ZNPP.

🔹 We continue to do our best to ensure the safe operation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

🎊 Today #Brazil 🇧🇷 celebrates 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th Anniversary of Independence!

🇷🇺🇧🇷 Russian-Brazilian relations rest on a solid contractual basis, which continues to be improved. The two countries have signed over 60 intergovernmental and inter-agency documents and more than two dozen new instruments are in the works.

💬 Vladimir #Putin: Brazil is a leading – we can even say the leading – trade and economic partner of our country in Latin America. We also work pro-actively at international venues.

🤝 The bilateral political dialogue is evolving within the strategic partnership format. Russia and Brazil maintain close foreign policy cooperation, which is traditionally based on overlapping approaches to many global problems. They also collaborate productively at multilateral venues, such as #UN, #BRICS, and #G20.

🎉 Greetings to our Brazilian friends on the national holiday, Independence Day! We wish you peace, prosperity and further achievements!

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's answers to media questions on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum

How do you assess the #IAEA report on the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant presented by Rafael Grossi? What is constructive about it and what raises concerns?

💬 Both Russian envoys – Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya (when the issue was discussed in the UN Security Council) and Permanent Representative to the international organisations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov – have already commented on this report. All our approaches have been outlined.

Will the report be published?

💬 We need to get additional clarification, because there are a number of questions about the report. I will not list them now. I requested these explanations from IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

Points forts du discours du président russe Vladimir Poutine lors du 7e Forum économique oriental à Vladivostok (1ère partie)

🔹La fièvre des sanctions de l'Occident menace le monde entier;

🔹Les pays occidentaux tentent de maintenir un ordre mondial qui ne profite qu'à eux, en changeant constamment les règles et en les brisant eux-mêmes;

🔹La qualité de vie des gens en Europe est sacrifiée pour maintenir la dictature américaine dans les affaires mondiales ;

🔹Il est possible que le créneau des entreprises européennes qui sont devenues victimes des sanctions soit pris par les Américains;

🔹La compétitivité des entreprises en Europe se dégrade. Des entreprises ferment leurs portes. L'une des raisons est la rupture des liens commerciaux avec la Russie ;

🔹La confiance dans le dollar, l'euro et la livre sterling est perdue, même les alliés des États-Unis réduisent leurs réserves en dollars;

🔹Les Européens continuent à agir comme des colonisateurs, en trompant les pays les plus pauvres ;

🔹La Russie fait face à l'agression économique, financière et technologique de l'Occident;

🔹En menant l’opération militaire spéciale en Ukraine, la Russie n'a rien perdu et ne perdra rien. En revanche, elle a renforcé sa souveraineté;

🔹La partie russe a tout fait pour que les céréales ukrainiennes soient exportées. Résultat : toutes les céréales sont envoyées non pas dans les pays en développement, mais dans les pays de l'UE;

🔹La situation économique en Russie s'est stabilisée, mais des problèmes se posent dans certains secteurs et régions ;

🔹La Russie est pratiquement le seul pays au monde qui possède suffisamment de ressources naturelles pour subvenir à ses besoins;

🔹Le taux de chômage en Russie est à un niveau historiquement bas de moins de 4% ;

🔹Il est impossible d'isoler la Russie, il suffit de regarder la carte;

🔹L'économie mondiale traverse une période difficile, mais la logique de la coopération prendra certainement le dessus.

🇷🇺🇺🇳 Negotiations on the implementation of the July 22 Russia-UN Memorandum “On Promoting Russian Agricultural Products and Fertilizers to Global Markets” commenced on September 7 in Geneva.

🔹 This is the next round of consultations between Russia and the UN represented by UNCTAD Secretary General Rebeca Grynspan to fully operationalize the July 22 Istanbul Agreement.

🇷🇺 The Russian delegation headed by Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin consisted of representatives from different Russian ministries and private companies.

❗️ A number of key issues preventing the Russia-UN Memorandum from taking full effect (among which are insurance, finance, logistics in agricultural and fertilizer deals) were substantially discussed.

🇺🇳 The UN has reaffirmed its readiness to continue its mediation efforts and raise these issues with all parties involved in this complex conversation to ensure a positive outcome.

🔹 This round of negotiations is expected to conclude on September 9.
Our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Alex Polowin, a true friend and WWII hero.
