No it doesn’t show up on your profile as “bi” or anything, all it does is it makes it so that you can swipe LEFT on every member of the sex you aren’t interested in, and swipe RIGHT on whoever you find attractive
These algorithms work by considering who you swipe right on and who you swipe left on, and show popular profiles to keep people interested in the app. Ugly people you need to swipe for a while and then they get sandwiched in the middle, tinder likes showing PRETTY people.
So by letting horny gay dudes (who are far hornier than straight women and would swipe on damn near any guy just like a horny straight guy swipe on nearly every girl) swipe right on you, the algorithm assumes you’re attractive and shows you to more profiles
By swiping LEFT on these people the algorithm assumes you have high standards and ALSO shows you to more people and increase the rate you get matched, trying to keep you on the app because it thinks you’ll delete the app if all you see is unattractive people that don’t like you.
