3/ This move was expected, especially after recent discussions about the U.S. potentially recognizing Crimea as russian territory.
4/ In my article “Twelve Reasons to Support Ukraine,” I warned that if russia is rewarded for its aggression, China and other authoritarian states would be emboldened to pursue their imperial ambitions.
5/ The U.S. betrayal of Ukraine has shattered the idea that democracies can stand united. China now knows it can take whatever it wants — and there will be no repercussions.
Vasyl Ivanchuk, a 56-year-old Ukrainian chess legend, won the Menorca Chess Open with an impressive 8/9 score and a 2807 ELO performance.

“This is not a border dispute. It is a dispute over whether Ukraine should exist. Ukraine wishes to exist. Putin wishes for it not to exist.”

Ben Shapiro is one of the few conservative commentators who still have a moral compass. He didn’t submit to MAGA authoritarianism and he is not afraid to speak the truth about russian aggression against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, russian state TV propagandists are now proposing the idea of teaming up with the U.S. to launch a strike on Europe.

I never thought I would live to see the day when the U.S. would alienate itself so badly from its allies — and move so close to russia — that such rhetoric would even be possible.
Russia has officially put forward its own “peace plan,” which blatantly contradicts the U.S. proposal.

Here’s a brief summary:

1/n
2/
- Ukraine must not join NATO and must undergo “demilitarization” and “denazification.”
- Russia’s annexation of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia must be internationally recognized.
3/
- All sanctions against Russia must be lifted, and all frozen russian assets must be returned.
- Russia rejects the U.S. proposal to transfer control of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant to Washington and Kyiv.
4/
- Ukrainian laws protecting the Ukrainian language, culture, and independent church must be abolished.
5/
It has been obvious from the beginning that russia doesn’t seek peace. These demands are nothing short of an ultimatum for Ukraine’s surrender. Neither Ukraine nor Europe will ever accept them.
6/
And just as predicted, Trump will soon point to Ukraine’s refusal to capitulate — and use it as a pretext to fully abandon Ukraine.

“Putin has reneged on every promise he made to President Trump… I think Putin thinks America is afraid of him.” - Republican Senator John Kennedy.

Even Fox News has become much more critical of Trump’s weakness and inaction.
If you are in the D.C. area, I highly recommend visiting the Museum of the Bible on May 6 for the theatrical premiere of A Faith Under Siege, sponsored by The Christian Broadcasting Network.

A Faith Under Siege is a powerful and inspiring film that tells the story of Ukraine’s Christians — their courage, resilience, and unwavering faith as they persevere and even thrive under the brutal oppression of the russian occupiers.
Zelenskyy rejects Putin’s ceasefire proposal for Victory Day. Instead, Zelensky tells Putin to accept Trump’s full 30-day-ceasefire:

“We value lives, not parades. A real ceasefire must start immediately & last at least 30 days — not just pause killing for a few days.”
I wonder who is behind the massive blackout in Spain and Portugal…
Alternative Peace Plan:
1. Arrest Putin.
2. All occupiers leave Ukrainian territory.
3. Denazification of russia.
4. Place russia under external governance.
5. Territories: Kuban, Belgorod, and Kursk become Ukrainian-speaking regions.
6. Reparations: Transfer half of all russian oil production to Ukraine for the next 100 years.
7. The United States must compensate Ukraine for damages resulting from its failure to uphold the Budapest Memorandum.

P.S. The original post was written by Yaroslav Voitovych; I just translated it and made small adjustments.
Republican Senator Rand Paul says he has enough votes to pass a resolution blocking Trump’s new tariffs. Trump has threatened to veto it.
