When Vaxxed first came out, I remember how quickly the conversation shifted. Instead of asking bigger questions about safety, it got narrowed down to the MMR vaccine versus the idea of single-antigen options, as if that alone would solve the problem.

For the first time, more Americans doubt vaccine safety than trust it.

A poll of 3,851 US adults conducted by Public First found that a plurality of Americans question vaccine safety, support reducing the number of vaccines administered, and believe that the right to decide what goes into your own body outweighs the goal of preventing disease transmission.

This is the actual state of public opinion, and it matters because politicians have been quietly telling each other that vaccines are too hot to touch heading into the midterms.
