I went waaay back to analyze the total operating revenue of Celtic FC for the last 45 seasons. First of all, congrats to Celtic, they achieved their highest ever revenue last season with 148 million GBP.

What is super interesting is that you can see what kind of gigantic push football had in the nineties. Revenue in 1980 was just 1 million GBP, which rose to 7 million GBP in the 1990-91 season. In the next ten years, revenue of Celtic FC would grow from 7 million to 46 million GBP!

From the 2000s onwards, average revenue gradually increased, until the 100 million GBP mark was broken for the first time in 2017-18. In four of the last six seasons, Celtic reached a total operating revenue higher than 100 million GBP.
