The layoffs affected 161 studios and caused 35 of those studios to permanently close. The continued collapse of the gaming industry does not seem to slow down. Up to 58,000 jobs were lost in the sector since 2022.

🇬🇧⚡️- Henry Nowak’s family has revealed that the British police force pressured, lied, and deceived them in the aftermath of Nowak’s killing.

After Nowak’s killing, the police treated Henry as the aggressor and lied about rendering first aid, while in reality, he was handcuffed while telling the police that he was dying. Furthermore, immediately after informing Nowak’s family of his death, the Hampshire police asked about his political views, as well as the family’s. Then, after identifying his dead son’s body, Mark Nowak was called by the police to approve a press release, which then, again, identified Henry Nowak as the aggressor. Mark Nowak said that the police’s story kept evolving and changing, and eventually the police admitted they arrested him and held him in custody before any sort of aid was administered. In addition, the family was barred from watching the bodycam footage until they were in court. Mark Nowak said the entire process led the family to feel hoodwinked and that they were not obtaining the truth. 

Mark Nowak’s final statement to the Telegraph: “After being slaughtered, when you see blue lights, you feel there’s a sense of justice. You feel like you’re going to get help. And [Henry] got none of that. And then he died.”

🇪🇺⚡️- Freezers in dozens of supermarkets across Europe were deliberately set to increase their temperature in a cyberattack.

In Sweden, freezers were increased to as high as 55° C, while stores in Belgium, Ireland, Finland, and Estonia were also affected. As a result of the hacking, food worth millions of euros was ruined and will have to be discarded.

Just weeks ago, hundreds of French supermarkets experienced a similar cyberattack targeting food refrigeration.

Robert Lee, a chief executive of a cyber security company Dragos, claims that LLMs have increased the potency and ability to achieve cyberattacks such as this— similar to suspected Iranian hackers targeting water utility systems in America.

🇩🇪🇻🇦⚡- President of the German Bishops’ Conference, Bishop Heiner Wilmer, the highest-ranking official of the Catholic Church in Germany, said that they “vehemently reject” AfD’s claim that they're a Christian organization, and the party is a “wolf in sheep’s clothing”.

Wilmer further added, “ethno-nationalist ideology is completely incompatible with Christianity,” and that the AfD’s exaltation of German White men is at the expense of others, especially migrants. This, according to Wilmer, violates “contemporary Christianity,” which “encourages love of neighbor and solidarity with all people in need”. He also added, that the German Catholic church would work with “other forces in society” to defend democracy in Germany and cohesion in Europe.

To note, the AfD has called for the severing of state funding to Catholic and Protestant churches, in addition to stopping the collection of church taxes, which would be a major blow to the German Catholic church, which spent more than €537mn on international humanitarian aid last year, most of it sent to Africa, Asia, and South America, while also assisting migrants in Germany, per the Financial Times.
