🇺🇸🇮🇶🇰🇼 - On August 2nd, 1990, Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and occupied the nation in only two days.

After Saddam rejected an ultimatum issued by the UN Security Council, on January 17th, 1991, a coalition force led by the U.S. began an aerial and naval bombardment campaign to liberate Kuwait.

Shortly afterward, a ground force led by CENTCOM commander Norman Schwarzkopf Jr. decisively defeated the Iraqi military, liberated Kuwait, and advanced into Iraqi territory virtually uncontested during a dominant campaign that lasted roughly 100 hours.

🇸🇦🇾🇪⚡- Two Saudi tankers crossed the Strait of Bab el-Mandeb over the weekend despite the Ansarullah blockade, Reuters reports.

The tankers had their AIS switched off.

🇪🇹🇸🇩⚡- TPLF has claimed the recent clashes on the Sherarina Front on August 1st involved Rapid Support Forces elements supporting the Ethiopian military, ENDF.

The claim has not been verified and is likely false. It was likely made to counter a possible Ethiopian accusation that the TPLF's Army 70 and 13 were supported by the Sudanese Armed Forces.

🇾🇪⚡- Heavy artillery and rocket fire erupted against Ansarullah positions in the Sahl al-Silsilah axis, Ta'izz direction, southern Yemen.

Initial reports indicate that Ansarullah forces were attempting to infiltrate high ground south of Ar Rahidah. Frontline Ansarullah sources confirm suffering casualties.

Reports also suggest the artillery fire originated from positions held by the al-Islah Party. If confirmed, it would mark a significant turning point in the recent escalation in the Yemeni file since November 2025, bringing one of Yemen's most influential anti-Ansarullah factions directly into the fighting once again. The Muslim Brotherhood affiliate chapter's longstanding network with tribes provides them with major influence across much of Yemen, even within Ansarullah-controlled territory.
